Convoy of Terrorists’ Vehicles Targeted by Russian Warplanes in Aleppo

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian fighter jets tracked and targeted a long column of the vehicles of the ISIL terrorist group in a region Northeast of Aleppo province, inflicting major damage on the convoy.

The ISIL’s attempts to transfer a large number of fighters from al-Bab Plateau to unknown location failed after the Russian air fleet struck the convoy while passing through the villages of ‘Ein al-Jahish, Abu Taltal, Touman, al-Shamawiyah, Sheikh Dun, and al-Bayrat.

The Russian and Syrian air forces killed several ISIL combatants and destroyed over 10 armored vehicles in their attacks.

Syrian Army Wins Back 3 Strategic Villages, 1 Hilltop in Lattakia Province

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army and popular forces continued their advances in Lattakia province, and seized back several strategic villages and a key height in the coastal province on Wednesday.

The army units and popular forces seized back Mazali, al-Khashkhasha and al-Zaheqeen villages in Lattakia today.

The Syrian government troops also took full control of Hadada hilltop in Lattakia province.

In a relevant development earlier today, the Syrian Army announced that its troops and their popular allies have launched the last phase of their large-scale operation in an area Northeast of Lattakia to conquer the last strongholds of the militants at the province’s border with Idlib.

“The Syrian army, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), the 48th Special Forces Regiment, the National Defense Forces (NDF) and the Syrian Marines launched the final assault on the strategic village of Kabani inside Jabal al-Akrad (Kurds Mountain),” the army said.

“The Syrian Armed Forces have attacked the militants from two different directions and looking to break-through the enemy’s lines of defense near the village of Ikko,” the army added.

If Kabani is captured, the Syrian Armed Forces will be in position to liberate the strategic village of al-Sirmaniyeh from al-Nusra Front, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

On Sunday, the Syrian commandoes pushed the militant groups back from their positions in the Northern part of the coastal province of Lattakia and won back one more strategic height overlooking Turkey.

The Syrian army and its allies imposed full control over Talat al-Nawareh after a tough battle with the terrorists of al-Nusra Front, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and the Free Syrian Army’s “1st Coastal Brigade”.

With both Saraf and Tal Nawareh captured, the Syrian Armed Forces are inching closer to seizing the remaining border points that have been under the control of the extremist rebels since the summer of 2012.

Kurdish Fighters Engage in Heavy Fighting with Militants in Raqqa

TEHRAN (FNA)- Tens of ISIL terrorists were killed or wounded in fierce clashes with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Kurdish “People’s Protection Units” (YPG) in the Northern part of Raqqa province near the border with Turkey, battlefield sources said Wednesday.

“A vast area between the border town of Tal Abyadh and al-Kantari and near the Raqqa-Turkey highway was the scene of heavy fighting between the Kurdish fighters and the Takfiri militants,” the sources said, adding, “The ISIL left behind tens of the dead or wounded members and fled the battlefield to find safer positions.”

Report said earlier today that the Syrian Army troops and their allies deployed in Southeastern and Northeastern areas of Aleppo and Hama provinces respectively are preparing to launch a joint anti-terrorism operation to free more lands in ISIL-held Raqqa province.

The Syrian soldiers, deployed in Ithriya in Hama province, are going to assault the Western countryside of Raqqa province and they are going to lead the operation to liberate the Tabaqa Military Airport from ISIL.

Since the Khanaser-Aleppo Road is now free of danger, the army troops and their pro-government allies in Southeastern part of Aleppo are preparing for what is likely to be the largest military operation launched during this brutal conflict.

The pro-government forces have been given direct orders from Syrian Army’s Central Command to redeploy to the desert-city of Ithriya and await further instruction.

The desert-city of Ithriya is strategically located in the Hama province’s Northeastern countryside; it borders the Aleppo province to the North and it is situated 15 km West of Raqqa axis.

The YPG Kurds have recently bonded with the Damascus government. The Syrian army sent several arms cargoes to the YPG troops in the Northeastern province of Hasaka and trained the first group of Kurdish volunteer forces in the provincial capital city of Hasaka last month.

The SDF that is comprised of mainly Kurdish fighters as well as a few hundred Syrian Arab dissident forces have received trainings from the US and have been provided with scanty US-coalition air support in their battles in Raqqa province in Northeastern Syria; but in Northern and Northwestern battlefronts, they have been operating alongside the YPG and received the Russian air backup in their Aleppo wars that started with the conquest of Tishrin Dam on the Euphrates early in February.

Assisted by the Syrian army – that has along with popular forces and Hezbollah conquered almost all militant-held regions in Eastern, Southern, Western and Northwestern Aleppo province – and Russian air support, the Kurdish forces fighting against the terrorists in North-Northeast Aleppo province have been making striking advances against the Al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham and ISIL terrorists in February.

In February, the YPG and SDF fighters prevailed over the terrorists in the highly strategic city of Tal Rifat in Northern Aleppo and captured the city.

The YPG, who enjoyed the Russian air backup, prevailed the terrorists’ positions from the Western direction and shook hand with the Kurdish units of the SDF who entered the town from the North.

Kurdish Fighters Cut Terrorists’ Supply Route in Aleppo City

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Kurdish “People’s Protection Units” (YPG) stormed the militant centers across the neighborhoods of Aleppo city and captured a key hill overlooking the only passage between the Eastern and Northern parts of the city.

The Kurdish fighters, after hours of heavy fighting, imposed full control over the strategic hill near the passage of Castello, which is the only path connecting the Eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo to Northern countryside of the city.

The militant groups suffered a heavy death toll in the clashes with the YPG and SDF.

On Tuesday, Arab media sources disclosed that the ISIL terrorist group sustained hundreds of casualties in the Syrian government forces’ anti-terrorism operations in the Southeastern part of Aleppo.

“Over 450 ISIL terrorists were killed and many more were injured in the Syrian government forces’ liberation operation of the strategic village of al-Hammam South of Khanaser and along the main supply line of government forces from Hama to Aleppo,” al-Nashrah reported.
