AMUDE – ANF

Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) issued a written statement on the 25 separate attacks ISIS gangs carried out on Girê Spî from Turkey and Raqqa on February 27.

TEV-DEM announced its positive approach to the ceasefire in Syria and invited everyone to support the ceasefire.

In its statement, TEV-DEM highlighted the AKP’s aggressive policies and stated the following:

‘‘SDF forces composed of Kurdish, Arab and Turkmen peoples resisted the attacks of the AKP and its gangs targeting Efrîn and Şehba, and succeeded in liberating the region of Shaddadi. AKP and its gangs began to attack Girê Spî, the symbol of shared life and sisterhood, in order to end people’s solidarity.

ISIS gangs’ attacks on Girê Spî and Silûk took place on February 27. Some of the gangs entered Rojava from Turkey and others infiltrated from Raqqa. Turkish armed forces began to shell YPG positions right after the gangs began their assault. The gangs used the regions that were previously occupied by Turkish soldiers. YPG, Asayish, and SDF forces successfully resisted the gang’s attacks on Girê Spî, and the few remaining clashes continue to the south of the town.’’

TEV-DEM called upon the international community to bring Turkey to account for its violation of the ceasefire in Syria.

Kurdish Fighters Retake over 2,000 Square Meters of Hasaka Lands from ISIL

TEHRAN (FNA)- Media sources announced that the Kurdish fighters have thus far pushed the ISIL terrorists back from 2,400 square meters of the territories of the Northeastern province of Hasaka.

Al-Azavi, al-Ziyanat and Adleh have been among the newly-liberated villages in the Southern side of al-Shaddadi, the Arab paper furhe added.

The YPG Kurds have recently bonded with the Damascus government. The Syrian army sent several arms cargoes to the YPG troops in the Northeastern province of Hasaka and trained the first group of Kurdish volunteer forces in the provincial capital city of Hasaka last week.

The SDF that is comprised of mainly Kurdish fighters as well as a few hundred Syrian Arab dissident forces have received trainings from the US and have been provided with scanty US-coalition air support in their battles in Raqqa province in Northeastern Syria; but in Northern and Northwestern battlefronts, they have been operating alongside the YPG and received the Russian air backup in their Aleppo wars that started with the conquest of Tishrin Dam on the Euphrates early in February.

De Mistura: ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra pose biggest threat to cessation of hostilities agreement
29 February، 2016
Rome, SANA

UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura considered that the biggest threat facing the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria is represented by ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations which are not involved in the agreement, warning of the danger of the collapse of the agreement as a result of the terrorists’ acts and some occasional breaches.

In an interview with Repubblica Italian newspaper, de Mistura affirmed that the occasional incidents and misunderstandings also represent a threat to the agreement.
He said that it is not acceptable to be talking about a cessation of hostilities agreement that serves the interests of one Syrian party over another.

De Mistura dismissed as mistaken the logic maintaining that the Syrian Arab Army will take advantage of cessation of hostilities agreement, adding that applying the same logic, one can say that the agreement opens the same possibility to what he called “opposition fighters” as it might serve as “as a dose of air before the resumption of fighting”.

He described the situation in Syria as “very complicated”, admitting that the settlement cannot progress without incident. “But the way the United Nations is handling this issue is hopeful”, he added.
