Beirut, SANA,

Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad said the Syrians, who were accustomed to surprise the world with their innovations, have surprised nations with their commitment to their Homeland through the vast participation in the presidential elections at Syria embassies on May 28th.

“The 28th of May would be recorded in Syria’s modern history as the 3rd of June, on which presidential elections will run, will also be recorded in this history,” Mikdad said in an article published on Lebanese al-Binaa newspaper.

He added the Syrians have dropped billions of dollars allocated by Europe and its tools in the region to defame Syria; they also defeated the conspiracy which was hatched by the western and Gulf intelligence.

“When the Syrians marched through streets of capitals to their embassies, they affirmed that they were with each tiny soil of Homeland, Syria,” Mikdad said.

He described stances of Germany, France, Belgium, Bulgaria and other states which prevented the Syrians from practicing their right of expression and free participation in presidential elections as “unprecedented” in violation of the human rights.

Mikdad affirmed that presidential elections’ step in Syria was aimed at avoiding division of country or any vacuum in it.
