This is a compilation of several videos showing the aftermath of the terrorist attack on Aleppo University. Terrorists from the “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) fired rocket shells on Aleppo University and Bani Zaid area today, causing several casualties.

On Jan 15, 2013, an FSA terrorist group fired two rocket shells from al-Layramoun area on Aleppo University, causing casualties and material damage. An official source told SANA that the rocket shells caused the death and the injury of a number of students on the first day of exams. It added that there were also causalities among displaced people whose areas were affected by the terrorist acts and who are staying at the university dormitory. Minister of Higher Education: President al-Assad Gives Drectives to Rehabilitate Damaged Areas in Aleppo University

Exams Suspended on Wednesday

ALEPPO, (SANA) – A terrorist group on Tuesday fired two rocket shells from al-Lairamoun area on Aleppo University, causing casualties and material damage.

An official source told SANA that the rocket shells caused the death and the injury of a number of students on the first day of exams.

It added that there were also causalities among displaced people whose areas were affected by the terrorist acts and who are staying at the University dormitory.

In a relevant context, SANA reporter was informed that terrorists fired two rocket shells on Bani Zaid area in the city, with the initial information indicating victims and injuries among the citizens.

Minister of Higher Education Mohammad Yahya Mu’ala said that President Bashar al-Assad gave directives to rehabilitate, as soon as possible,  what has been destroyed in Aleppo university at the hands of the terrorist killers today.

Mu’ala added that the President gave his instructions to rehabilitate what has been destroyed in Aleppo University as soon as possible to ensure the process of the education and exams at the university, and rehabilitate all universities and institutions affected and damaged at the hands of terrorism which targets Syria and its people.

“The Ministry issued a decision to suspend study and exams at the Syrian universities on Wednesday to mourn the souls of the students martyrs of Aleppo university who were assassinated at the hands of low terrorists today,” Mu’ala added.

Syrian Students Stress Steadfastness against Terrorism

CAPITALS, (SANA) – The National Union of Syrian Students condemned the terrorist attack on Aleppo University yesterday which caused the death and the injury of dozens of students on their first day of exams.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the union stressed that the armed terrorist groups started to target universities after targeting the infrastructure of the national economy, the public and private institutions, factories, facilities, bakeries and the research centers.

The statement noted that the terrorist groups and their funders and supports directed their hatred to the universities with the aim of forcing the students to divert from education and knowledge and go into the path of ignorance and terrorism.

The union stressed its firm standing and adherence to the national choices and the political dialogue to solve the crisis in Syria.

The statement added that the crimes of the armed terrorist groups will not terrify the Syrian students as they are part the conspiracy hatched against Syria, rather they will strengthen the national unity and steadfastness in the face of terrorism.

The union expressed pride in the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army, wishing mercy upon the martyrs of Syria and the University of Aleppo.

Syrian Students in Cuba Strongly Denounce Terrorist Attack against Aleppo University

The Syrian students in Cuba expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist criminal attack which targeted Aleppo University on Tuesday which killed and injured a number of students.

The students stressed, in a statement on Wednesday, that these criminal acts will not weaken their determination to continue their educational attainment and will rather strengthen their will and steadfastness in the face of the US-Zionist schemes.

For its part, the Syrian Arab community in Hungary roundly denounced the terrorist attack which targeted Aleppo University.

Members of the “Forum for Syria” and the Syrian Arab community in Hungary said in a statement that this terrorist attack expresses the bankruptcy and savagery of those who committed it and their connections with foreign powers which want to destabilize Syria.

The Syrian community wished for Syria peace, stability and security.

Syrian Students Hold Solidarity Stands with Martyrs of Aleppo University

PROVINCES, (SANA) – The Sweida branch of the National Union of Syrian Students on Wednesday held a solidarity stand in honor of the souls of the martyrs of science and in condemnation of the terrorist act which targeted Aleppo University.

Head of the Union’s Sweida branch, Omar al-Jibaai, stressed that Sweida students stand in the same  trench with all other Syrian students in the face of conspiracies and terrorist acts which target citizens, students, public and private institutions.

A number of students pointed out that targeting the students and universities only increases their determination to pursue their education and to build the Syria of tomorrow.

They also asserted that this criminal act does not belong to humanity and reflects hatred of the enemies who are trying to terrorize students.

The students also expressed support for the Syrian Arab Army in confronting terrorism.

In Damascus University, hundreds of students organized a sit-in in the student housing on Mazzeh to denounce the cowardly terrorist attack which targeted Aleppo University, lighting candles as a gesture of respect for the martyrs of that attack.

The students said that terrorism will not dissuade students from their studies, voicing their support for the families of the martyrs of Aleppo University.

They said that targeting university student is an act that could only be perpetrated by people with extremist and criminal mentality that want to spread ignorance, affirming that they will not forget the blood of their colleagues who died in Aleppo University.

The students pointed out that the terrorist attack sought to spread fear and terror among university students and their families and create a state of chaos and insecurity similar to the one depicted by the channels which are accomplices in shedding Syrian blood.

They noted that this act is one in a series of attacks against Aleppo that seek to punish it for adhering to its national positions since the beginning of the crisis, adding that another motive for this crime is the refusal of the University’s students to submit to terrorists’ demands that they stop their studies and join their ranks.

In Tishreen University in Lattakia, students and youth groups organized a mourning and support stand in the campus and al-Zira’a roundabout to honor the martyrs of Aleppo University.

The participants voiced their rejection of the terrorist acts targeting students and citizens in Syria in general and Aleppo in particular, affirming their support for those who are confronting terrorism.

They  pointed out that Syrian students proved to be responsible in facing the war against Syria, asserting their confidence in the ability of the Sryian Arab Army to achieve victory voer terrorists.

Participants said that assassinations, murder, vandalism and bombings won’t dissuade Syrian youths from defending their country and achieving their aspirations.

Similarly, hundreds of students from al-Baath University in Homs observed a moment of silence in the University’s campus for the souls of the martyrs of Aleppo University.

Homs Govenor Ahmad Munir al-Mohammad, who participated in this event, voiced hope that the heinous crime against Aleppo University will mark the end of the cosnpriacy against Syria.

Other participants affirmed that Syria will remain strong with its national union and its rallying around its leadership and army, stressing that university life will continue in spite of terrorism which will only make Syrians stronger and more cohesive.

The participants marched silently in the campus, carrying a coffin draped in a Syrian flag to symbolize the martyrs of Aleppo University.

In Tartous, hundreds of students organized a solidarity stand in the Health Institute and Nursing School courtyard to salute the martyrs of Aleppo University and express support for their families.

Participants stressed that terrorism will not dissuade students from pursuing education and knowledge, and that Syrians will not abandon their national stances and their support for the resistance no matter the price.

Another support stand was organized by the Teachers Syndicate, the Tartous branch of the General Union of Syrian Students, and the Engineering faculty in the Second Tishreen University.

Participants affirmed that they stand united in the face of the plots targeting Syria, stressing that the martyrdom of the students in Aleppo University affected every honest Syrian and that this heinous crime shows the scale of the conspiracy against Syria.

Students Participate in Clearing up the Sites of The Terrorist Attack in Aleppo University

100 Syrian students from the Aleppo branch of the National Union of Syrian Students participated in clearing up and repairing the destruction causing by the terrorist attack which targeted  Aleppo University, cleaning the nearby streets from the debris of the explosion.

In a statement, the Director of the Union branch in Aleppo Muhammad Zazoua told SANA that the initiative comes from Aleppo students to confirm the continuation of the educational process at the university.

Participants told SANA that the initiative expresses the students rejection of the criminal act, affirming the steadfastness of the students against the conspiracy.

General Command of the Army: The Criminal Act against Aleppo University a Revenge against People of Aleppo

Damascus, (SANA)_The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces said that the armed terrorist groups committed yesterday a new crime that claimed the lives of scores, targeting Aleppo University by rocket shells from al-Lairamoun area, which prompted the army to hit back against the gatherings of terrorists in the area.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Command said that the crime came as a desperate attempt to cover the bankruptcy of the hostile forces’ project and their inability to realize their goals.

”This coward criminal act came to take revenge on the people of Aleppo, who proved their deep attachment to their homeland and solid will in the face of terrorism, ” the statement said.

The statement added that the attacks against scientific cadres and schools, institutes and universities are proof of the of the dark nature of the criminals whose mindset belongs to bygone times, adding that these criminal acts will only stiffen its determination to carry out its duties in cracking down on the remnants of terrorists to purify the homeland of their evils.

Foreign and Expatriates Ministry Calls on UN and UNSC Member States to Condemn Massacre against Aleppo University Students and Terrorist Crimes in Syria

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – Foreign and Expatriates Ministry on Wednesday called upon the UN and the UN Security Council member states to condemn the terrorist crimes in Syria, including the massacre committed against Aleppo University students, employees and citizens who resort to it.

Addressing two identical letters to the President of the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary General, the ministry said that the victims of the terrorist attack against the University of Aleppo are students who were on their first day of exams and they have no guilt but that they are continuing their educational attainment and prepare themselves to take part in their country’s progress and building its future.

“On the afternoon of Tuesday, January, 15th, 2013, the armed terrorist groups targeted the University of Aleppo with two rocket shells from al-Lairamoun neighborhood, causing the martyrdom of 82 students and the injury of hundreds,” the Ministry said in its letters.

It added that the terrorist attack caused damage to the university dormitory, which the Syrian Arab government used part of it to shelter the displaced people who were exposed to the bombardment of the terrorist groups which attacked Aleppo city and destroyed a lot of its economic and historic features over the last months.

The letters noted that the aggression on Aleppo University was not the first of its kind against educational institutions as these criminals destroyed more than 2362 schools and killed dozens of innocent children and teachers inside them.

The Ministry pointed out that the UN Security Council failed to condemn this terrorism till now ignoring its relevant resolutions in this regard and the will of the international community to eliminate its committers and supporters.

The Ministry added that Syria calls upon the member states of the UN and the UN Security Council to condemn the terrorist crimes in Syria, including the massacre committed against Aleppo University students, employees and citizens who resorted to the university as there remains no excuse for states which are practicing double standards and supporting terrorism in Syria while they condemn it in another place.

“Meantime some parties, particularly in western countries, claim to combat terrorism in Mali – and we support combating terrorism wherever found – they support this terrorism and the same terrorist groups in Syria and cover its supporters regardless of the suffering of the Syrian people, the thousands of martyrs and the destruction caused by these terrorists and their supporters to the infrastructure established by the Syrian people, not to mention the huge damage caused by the terrorist groups to the public and private properties,” the ministry said.

The Ministry added that the campaign against Syria is carried out in cooperation with media institutions which received calls from some western and Gulf countries to perform immoral mission and mislead the Syrians and the international public opinion regarding the events in Syria and falsifying facts.

The Ministry concluded that the terrorism of these killers will not prevent Syria from defending its citizens, students and schools, adding that Syria will continue to combat terrorism in line with working on the implementation of its political program to solve the crisis which is mainly based on dialogue among all spectrums of the Syrian people since it is the safest way out of this crisis.

Russia, Iran Strongly Condemn Terrorist Attack on Aleppo University

CAPITALS, (SANA) – Russia condemned the heinous terrorist attack committed against the students of Aleppo university on Tuesday.

In a statement issued On Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that “We strongly condemn the mass killing of innocent citizens in Syria, stressing that the international community should take a similar uncompromising stance towards terrorism.

Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that these acts cannot be justified, adding that “We particularly note that this terrorist attack took place in an atmosphere in which normal life had begun to gradually return to the majority of the city’s districts.”

She added that what happened is a blatant bloody provocation in revenge of significant losses the terrorist groups have sustained in the confrontations with the Syrian Army.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reiterated calls for influential foreign players to do their part to halt violence in Syria immediately and transfer from confrontations to the political solution on the basis of Geneva statements which was agreed upon on June 30th, 2012, in addition to providing humanitarian aid to the Syrians.

Mehmanparast: Iran Condemns Terrorist Attack on Aleppo University

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Ramin Mehmanparast, strongly condemned the terrorist attack against Aleppo University which claimed the lives of a number of students and citizens and injuring others.

In a statement on Wednesday, Mehmanparast said that these terrorist attacks will not lead except to strengthening the Syrian people’s determination in preserving the principles of resistance.

He renewed his country’s stances on finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria, calling the international scientific and academic organizations to condemn these terrorist acts.

Mehmanparast offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured quick recovery, asserting that these acts are inhuman.

Wide Condemnation of Terrorist Attack against Aleppo University

CAPITALS, (SANA) – Regional Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party condemned the heinous terrorist attack against the students of Aleppo university which caused the death and the injury of dozens of students.

In a statement issued today, al-Baath Party Regional Leadership stressed that the crime is an evidence on the political and moral bankruptcy of the armed terrorist groups and their supporters after receiving painful blows by the Syrian Arab Army and their failure to achieve any of their military goals on the ground.

The statement added that this crime stresses again the takfiri identity which is hostile to all human and moral values, stressing that those armed terrorist groups does not know but the language of killing and destruction.

It added that this crime, which aimed at terrifying the people in Aleppo and punish them because of their commitment to the homeland and its efforts to overcome the crisis, will not undermine the Syrian people’s steadfastness and determination to face terrorism and make the political solution to the crisis a success in terms of the political program to solve the crisis in Syria.

The Ministry of Higher Education urged the international and humanitarian organizations, especially the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to condemn the brutal terrorism that targeted Aleppo University.

Lavrov: Statements on Syrian Forces’ Responsibility for Aleppo Terrorist Attack Repulsive and Unscrupulous

DUSHANBE, (SANA)- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov strongly criticized the statements on the responsibility of the Syrian government forces for the terrorist attack which targeted Aleppo University on Tuesday, describing them as “repulsive and unscrupulous”.

In a press conference in Dushanbe, the Tajik capital, on Thursday, Lavrov said ” I saw on CNN that they say that the Syrian government forces are the ones which committed this terrorist act in Aleppo. I can not imagine a more repulsive and unscrupulous talk than that.”

Responding to a question on the possibility that the difference in interpreting the events in Aleppo could affect the Russian-US relations, Lavrov said “I can not understand how a terrorist act could be a pretext for differences,” reminding that heads of many countries and the UN described the events in Aleppo as a terrorist act.

CAPITALS, (SANA) –Venezuela on Thursday strongly condemned the terrorist attack against Aleppo University, which claimed the lives of dozens of students and injured others, as a “barbarian terrorist act”.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Elias Jaua, expressed, on behalf of the Venezuelan government and people, condemnation of this criminal act, offering condolences to the families of the victims.

Jaua pointed out to the strong relations of friendship between Syria and Venezuela, asserting his country’s full support to the political program to solve the crisis in Syria in a way that maintains Syria’s sovereignty far from any foreign intervention.

Iran: Terrorist Attack Will Further Strengthen Syrian People

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Ramin Mehmanparast, strongly condemned the terrorist attack against Aleppo University which claimed the lives of a number of students and citizens and injuring others.

In a statement on Wednesday, Mehmanparast said that these terrorist attacks will not lead except to strengthening the Syrian people’s determination in preserving the principles of resistance.

He renewed his country’s stances on finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria, calling the international scientific and academic organizations to condemn these terrorist acts.

Mehmanparast offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured quick recovery, asserting that these acts are inhuman.

UN Secretary-General Denounces Terrorist Attack as a War Crime

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon denounced the attack which targeted Aleppo University, saying that such attacks are unacceptable and must stop immediately, stressing that targeting civilians deliberately constitute war crimes.

Ki-moon called for conducting an in-depth investigation into this attack quickly, stressing the need for seeking a peaceful and political resolution for the crisis in Syria.

Palestine Liberation Army Staff: Terrorist Attack on Aleppo University Is Evidence of Bankruptcy

DAMASCUS, (SANA)- The Command of the Staff of the Palestine Liberation Army expressed its condemnation of the terrorist attack which hit Aleppo University, saying this act constitutes a new evidence of the bankruptcy of the terrorist groups and an attempt to conceal the features of their failure.

“Through targeting civilians and shedding the blood of students and the displaced these coward terrorist bombings try in vain to influence the Syrian Arab people in general and people of Aleppo in particular,” said a statement by the Staff Command.

It added that these terrorist acts also aim at punishing the Syrian people for standing in the face of “the despicable conspiracy and its dirty tools.”

The Staff Command reiterated its support for Syria, people, army and leadership, in confronting the crimes and terrorism that are aimed at undermining its sovereignty and weakening its pan-Arab role and stances.

It expressed confidence that Syria will achieve victory thanks to the sacrifices and steadfastness of its people, the valor of its army and the wisdom of President Bashar al-Assad.
