Mikdad lambastes the West’s double standards on origin of crisis in Syria

Beirut, (SANA) Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Faissal al-Mikdad lambasted the double standards practiced by the West about claims on the origins of the crisis in Syria.

In an article published by the Lebanese al-Binaa newspaper, he slammed the Western countries’ claims that the crisis in Syria originated from flaws in the relationship between some spectra of the Syrian people and the government.

“This brings up the question of ‘Is there a single government in the world that is able to meet all the aspirations of its citizens?’” said Mikdad, adding “If the American, French and British logic were true, whey then there is opposition in those countries”.

“Why don’t many governments and leaders just get off the stage of politics in the Western states when opinion polls show their peoples have lost confidence in them?” he wondered.

We have never seen the opposition in those countries taking up arms against their governments, said Mikdad, adding that in a worst-case scenario of riotous acts, those governments would react brutally, citing examples of what happened in London streets and some French cities.

The plots of the US and the obsequious West and regional allies have been evident since years, said Mikdad, affirming that the three-year-old crisis in Syria was triggered by a U.S.-Western scheme mainly masterminded by Israel and implemented by some Gulf and Arab regimes.

At the core of this scheme, he added, lies Israel’s key aim, which is to liquidate the Palestinian Cause, a vicious ambition that can only be realized through the elimination of the armies of Syria, Iraq and Egypt, a task whose most eligible executers are the Muslim Brotherhood and Wahhabis.

A most telling proof of the those executers’ fervor to put this Israeli-prompted scheme into play is the zealous passion with which Recep Tayyip Erdogan, leader of the Muslim Brotherhood government of Turkey, is murdering the people of Syria.

“The Western goal steering the attempts to destroy the entire Arab world, and not just Syria, has been unmasked,” said Mikdad, recalling the still unfolding events in Libya, Tunis, Egypt, Yemen, Iraq and Syria as glaring examples.

While asserting the overwhelming defeat of the parties to the aggression targeting Syria, Mikdad said his country is gearing up for holding transparent democratic pluralistic presidential elections, drawing a most brilliant picture of Syria’s triumph.
