TEHRAN (FNA)- A large number of civilians were killed and wounded in airstrikes and artillery attacks by the US-led coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on a refugee camp in Eastern Deir Ezzur, the Arabic-language media reported.
“About 60 civilians, including children, were killed and 15 others were wounded in the US-led airstrikes and SDF artillery attacks on residential areas in a refugee camp located in the town of al-Baqouz in Eastern Deir Ezzur,” the SANA news agency reported.
It said that the US-led airstrikes on al-Baqouz refugee camp left more than 50 civilians, including children, killed.
Meantime, pro-militant Baldi news website also reported that seven civilians, including a number of children, were killed and over 15 others were wounded in artillery attacks by SDF on al-Baqouz.
In a relevant development in February, the US-led coalition fighter jets pounded a camp of Syrian civilians who had fled from the ISIL’s captivity in the town of Baghouz in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.
The Arabic-language media said that a sum of 70 Syrians had been killed or wounded in the US-led airstrikes, adding that the toll is expected to rise due to deteriorating conditions of the injured and difficulties in rendering aid to them.
In a relevant air raid in January, the US-led airstrikes killed at least 31 civilians in the village of al-Baghouz Foqani.
“The number of civilians killed in the US airstrikes on people’s houses in the village of al-Baghouz Foqani has reached 31 so far,” the Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper quoted local sources as saying.
The daily noted that the victims belonged to three families who came under the US air raids as they were fleeing the ISIL-controlled areas in the region.
Over 50 civilians martyred in massacre by US-led coalition in Deir Ezzor countryside

At least 50 civilians, children and women included, were martyred in a new massacre committed by the US-led International coalition in al-Baghouz camp in eastern Deir Ezzor.
Local sources said that more than 50 civilians were martyred and scores were injured on Monday as a result of airstrikes by the US-led international coalition on al-Baghouz camp .
The sources pointed out that the aggression targeted dozens of families while trying to escape from the areas where Daesh terrorists are positioned.
According to the sources, the death toll is likely to rise as most of the wounded sustained serious injuries.
Last Thursday, warplanes of the US-led coalition shelled gatherings of civilians with white phosphorous in the surroundings of al-Baghouz village near the Syrian-Iraqi borders, claiming the lives of a number of citizens, mostly women and children.
The US-led coalition regularly carries out airstrikes and commits massacres under the pretext the fight against Daesh terrorist group.
Since it was illegally formed outside the jurisdiction of the U.N. Security Council in August 2014, under the pretext of fighting Daesh, the coalition has been committing massacres against innocent civilians, killing hundreds of people, injuring others and destroying infrastructure.
Syria has repeatedly demanded, through dozens of letters to the UN Secretary General and UNSC President, a serious and an immediate action to stop such attacks and massacres and to take necessary measures to set an independent international mechanism to probe into these crimes.
