YPG Commander Warns of Attempts to Disintegrate Syria, Stresses Kurds’ Preparedness for Talks

TEHRAN (FNA)- A spokesperson and commander of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) warned of attempts to disintegrate Syria, saying that the Kurds are prepared for talks and finding a political solution to protect Syria’s territorial integrity.

Nouri Mahmoud was quoted by the Arabic-language service of RT news agency as saying that the Kurds attach importance to Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, stressing support for finding a political solution which serves both goals.

He cautioned of plots to disintegrate Syria, and underscored the need for confrontation against attacks by Turkey’s occupying troops on Syria.

Mahmoud said that internal differences can be settled through talks and a constitution which respects the rights of all the Syrian people.

A Lebanese newspaper revealed in February that it had gained access to an email from the British embassy in the US which revealed Washington’s 5-paragrapth plan to disintegrate Syria.

The Arabic-language al-Akhbar newspaper wrote that the US officials along with their western allies had decided to implement a detailed plan to disintegrate Syria and prolong the war in the country by continued deployment on the Eastern banks of the Euphrates.

In a somewhat familiar but precise English, Benjamin Norman – a diplomat in charge of the Middle East at the British Embassy in Washington – reported in a confidential diplomatic telegram of the first meeting of the “Small American Group on Syria” (United States, Great Britain, France, Saudi Arabia and Jordan), held in Washington on January 11, 2018.

In this five-page TD, he revealed the details of the “Western strategy” in Syria: partition of the country, sabotage of Sochi, framing of Turkey and instructions to the UN Special Representative Staffan de Mistura who leads the negotiations of Geneva.
