Syria Updates Topographic Maps with Russian Assistance, Sep 25 (Prensa Latina) Syrian experts, with the assistance of Russia, began updating the country”s topography based on maps produced in the 1970s.

The first copies were already printed and should cover the 14 provinces of this country with a geographical area of 185,180 square kilometers and borders that are extended by 3,098.

To that end, the Russian side sent to Syria a mobile topographic complex consisting of five trucks with their trailers and stationary location equipment, including specialists courses that prepared and are preparing to national technicians.

The war imposed on Syria since 2011 involved the destruction of many geographic and population settlements and the current work in this regard will rebuild the country from that point of view.
