Syria Strongly Condemns Attempt on Venezuelan President’s Life

Syria on Sunday strongly condemned the attempt to assassinate Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry told SANA that “the Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the assassination attempt which targeted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro which aims at undermining the security and stability of the country.”

“The Syrian Arab Republic expresses solidarity with the friendly country of Venezuela and its leadership and reiterates the call for respecting the sovereignty of the country and non-interference in its internal affairs,” the source said, adding that “Syria is confident of the ability of the Venezuelan government to deal with the internal issues in framework of the state institutions and respecting the constitution.”
