US Combat Drone Attacks Syrian Army Tank in Deir Ezzur

TEHRAN (FNA)- A US Army attack drone destroyed a Syrian Army tank in Eastern Deir Ezzur to become the second raid in the current week by the US air force on the Syrian army, a media outlet reported on Wednesday.

The Arabic-language website of Reuters quoted a US official as reporting that an MQ-9 drone of the US forces destroyed a Russia-made T-72 tank of the Syrian Army in Deir Ezzur on Sunday.

Also, the US army announced that it destroyed a tank that had entered the fire range of the US-backed militants.

In the meantime, a US official, who requested anonymity, disclosed that at least two pro-Syrian government forces were killed in that attack.

The drone attack on the Syrian tank was the second US attack on Damascus forces in last week.

The US-led coalition carried out several airstrikes on Syrian forces in Deir Ezzur province on Thursday.

The US military claimed that so-called anti-ISIL coalition forces repelled a threatening Syrian Army-led attack consisting of five hundred troops – backed by artillery, tanks, multiple-launch rocket systems and mortars – late on Wednesday and early on Thursday against positions of Arab and Kurdish militias at energy fields near the town of Khasham on the Eastern bank of the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzur province.

According to reports, more than 100 pro-government forces were killed in the airstrikes carried out by the US-led coalition in Syria’s Deir Ezzur.

Terrorists Suffer Major Losses in Syrian, Russian Air Raids in Hama Province

TEHRAN (FNA)-The Syrian and Russian fighter jets pounded terrorists’ movements and positions in Northern Hama, inflicting major losses on the militants, field sources said on Wednesday.

The sources said that the warplanes carried out heavy bombardments against terrorists’ strongholds in the small towns of Kafr Zita, al-Latamina and Morek in Northern Hama, inflicting major damage on their military hardware.

The sources further said that the terrorists, meantime, stormed the army’s positions in the town of Mahrada in Northern Hama, but failed to prevail over the army’s strongholds.

Local sources said on Tuesday that the army men fended off a heavy attack of a group of Al-Nusra terrorists in a region from the Southwest of the town of al-Salamiyah to the towns of Talbiseh and al-Rastan in Northern Homs and further to the village of al-Ramileh, inflicting heavy casualties on the militants.

The sources added that the army men further carried out a rapid counter-attack at Hama border with Homs and managed to impose control over lost lands in the village of Moqasem al-Hamrat Southwest of the small town of Khneifes in Southeastern Hama.

Syrian Army Preparing Rapid Large-Scale Operation against Terrorists in Hama

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army troops are preparing to launch an imminent operation to purge Southeastern Hama of terrorists, field sources reported on Wednesday.

The sources said that the army units are about to kick off an imminent operation to purge a large region between Southeastern Hama and Northern Homs of terrorists of al-Islamiyah Front.

The sources said that the terrorists have been carrying out a number of heavy attacks on the army in Tal Dareh, al-Ramiyeh, Qaba al-Kurdi and al-Kafat West of the town of al-Salamiyah, adding that the army’s operation is aimed at restoring more security to Southern Hama.

Local sources said on Tuesday that the army men fended off a heavy attack of a group of Al-Nusra terrorists in a region from the Southwest of the town of al-Salamiyah to the towns of Talbiseh and al-Rastan in Northern Homs and further to the village of al-Ramileh, inflicting heavy casualties on the militants.

Army Repels Terrorists’ Attacks on Gov’t Positions in Hama

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army soldiers warded off terrorists’ attacks on their positions in Hama province after hours of clashes, inflicting major losses on the militants.

The terrorist attacks to capture the government forces’ positions in the Southeastern Hama were fended off by the strong defense of the Syrian military men.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria, including Deir Ezzur, over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Hama

The Syrian Army troops repelled another heavy offensive of the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) in Southeastern Hama and further carried out a rapid counter-attack, recapturing lost positions, local sources reported on Tuesday.

The sources said that army men fended off a heavy attack of a group of Al-Nusra terrorists in a region from the Southwest of the town of al-Salamiyah to the towns of Talbiseh and al-Rastan in Northern Homs and further to the village of al-Ramileh, inflicting heavy casualties on the militants.

Damascus

The Syrian Army has dispatched a large number of elite forces to Eastern Ghouta to kick off a large-scale operation to purge the region of terrorist groups, field sources reported on Tuesday.

FNA dispatches quoted the sources as saying that the army has forwarded a large number of Tiger Forces from Idlib to Eastern Ghouta.

The first priority of the army is now purging Eastern Ghouta of terrorists, the sources told FNA, adding that the army plans to storm the terrorists from the directions of the Governorate Building in Damascus outskirts, al-Rahbah region and the Vehicles Management Center.

Also, the army units are preparing to advance in the depth of the regions that are under the control of the Jeish al-Islam through al-Marj region, especially via al-Nashabiyeh and Hawsh al-Zawaherah regions.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian Army discovered a large cache of Israeli-made arms and ammunition in mop-up operation in liberated regions in Deir Ezzur province on Tuesday.

The army sources said they were carrying out cleansing operation in the villages of al-Sayal and Hasarat East of the town of Albu Kamal in Southeastern Deir Ezzur when they discovered several warehouses containing a large number of Israel-made missiles, rockets, mortars, shells, landmines and hand-made bombs.

In the meantime, the army men found a tunnel in the village of al-Sabikhan East of the town of al-Mayadeen that was used as a large workshop to manufacture arms and bombs, the sources said adding that a large quantity of unknown materials has also been found in the tunnel.

Aleppo

The Turkish Army’s artillery units pounded for the first time the Central part of the town of Afrin in Northwestern Aleppo, inflicting an unspecified number of casualties on the civilian population, a Kurdish media outlet reported on Tuesday.

Hawar news reported that the artillery units of the Turkish army and Ankara-backed militants opened heavy fire at populated neighborhoods in the Central part of Afrin.

It went on to say that the artillery units also targeted Afrin Hospital inside the town, killing and wounding a number of civilians, including several children. Yet, the news outlet said the exact number of casualties is not clear yet.

Idlib

Tens of terrorists from the Al-Nusra Front were killed and wounded after a bomb went off in front of the group’s command center in Idlib province on Tuesday.

At least eight militants were killed and 20 more were injured in a bomb explosion in front of the Al-Nusra’s command center in Ma’arat al-Mesrin in Idlib.

In the meantime, two Al-Nusra security members were killed after unknown raiders attacked one of the checkpoints of Al-Nusra in the town of Ariha in Idlib province.

More Regions Join Peace Agreement with Syrian Army

TEHRAN (FNA)- Militants in two villages in Hama and Homs provinces handed over their weapons to the relevant officials and ended battle against the Syrian Army, the Russian Defense Ministry announced.

The ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that representative of militants in the village of Sharshi in Hama and the village of Zita al-Bahr in Homs province endorsed peace agreement with the army, adding that the total number of towns, regions and villages that have thus far joined the nationwide peace plan stands at 2,357 now.

Dissident-affiliated websites reported last week that reconciliation talks were underway between Damascus and representatives of militant groups over affiliation of more regions in Eastern Qalamoun region to the nationwide peace plan.

The news websites reported that preliminary agreement was reached for the implementation of a peace plan in Eastern Qalamoun after the representatives of militants, the Syrian Army commanders and a sum of civilians met in the town of al-Rahibeh.

The websites said that the agreement was comprised of eight paragraphs, including exit of arms and military hardware from al-Rahibeh, demilitarization of the region, reviewing militants’ pardoning and return of state institutions to the region.

Turkish aggression on Afrin continues, injuring two, causing losses in agricultural sector

Two civilians, including an 8-year-old girl, were injured Wednesday in the continued aggression launched by forces of the Turkish regime with different types of weapons on Afrin City and the villages surrounding it in Aleppo northern countryside.

Local sources told SANA that the heavy shelling by the Turkish forces with rocket launchers on residential neighborhoods in Afrin City left two civilians injured. The injured were transported to the hospital to receive the required treatment.

In a relevant context, the sources stressed that the Turkish aggression on Afrin city and the surrounding villages also caused huge damage to the agricultural sector as peasants haven’t been able to go to their farms due to the heavy shelling.

A child injured, material damage caused due to shelling attacks in Damascus

A child was injured on Wednesday when armed groups renewed breaching the de-escalation zone agreement in Eastern Ghouta, targeting with shells residential areas in Damascus.

A source at Damascus Police Command told SANA that the armed groups fired two rocket shells on Esh al-Warwar neighborhood, injuring a child and causing material damage to properties.

The armed groups also fired two other shells on al-Abassiyeen area causing only material damage, the source added.

SANA’s reporter said that Units of the Syrian Arab Army responded to the attacks by striking the areas from which the shells were launched, destroying rocket launching pads and inflicting heavy losses upon the armed groups.

SARC delivers aid to 1440 families in Eastern Ghouta

Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) on Wednesday delivered content of anaid convoy to civilians besieged by armed groups in al-Nashabieh area in Eastern Ghouta.

SARC said that the content of the aid convoy loaded with food and medical materials was delivered to 1440 families in al-Nashabieh and the surroundings towns in eastern Ghouta in Damascus countryside in cooperation with the United Nation.
