Turkish Army Dispatches More Troops, Military Equipment to Northern Syria

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Turkish Army has sent a new convoy of military vehicles and elite forces to the border with Syria to join war on the Kurds within the framework of Operation Olive Branch in Afrin region in Northern Aleppo, field sources said on Sunday.

The sources said that the army forwarded a new convoy, including 60 military vehicles and a large number of elite forces to Qoroq Khan region in Hatay at the border with Syria, adding that the convoy is waiting for final order to move to Afrin region to join Operation Olive Branch forces in war on the Kurds.

Meantime, Kurdish combatants shot down another Turkish military helicopter in Afrin region on Saturday, killing 9 Turkish soldiers.

The Kurdish-language Hawar news reported that the Kurdish militias shot down a personnel carrier Sikorski helicopter of the Turkish army with nine military men on board in Rajou region in Northwestern Aleppo.

Earlier in the day the Kurdish militias shot down another Turkish army helicopter killing two soldiers.

The Turkish sources have confirmed that the country’s army has lost a sum of 11 Turkish soldiers in the two incidents, adding that 11 more have been wounded.

The first military helicopter was downed by the Kurds in the village of Qadah in Rajou region early on Saturday.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan later warned that Ankara would give the Kurds a crushing response to the attack.

He also acknowledged hat two Turkish military men were killed in the chopper crash.

Syrian Army Repels Terrorists’ Attack in Lattakia Province,Liquidates Terrorist Group

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army troops fended off a heavy offensive of a group of terrorists in Northern Lattakia, killing the entire members of the group on Sunday.

The army men exchanged heavy fire with a group of terrorists after militants violated the de-escalation zone’s ceasefire agreement in Tal Hadadah East of the town of Kinsibba in Northern Lattakia.

The army men warded off the attack and killed all the gunmen of the terrorist group.

In relevant developments in the province last month the army men engaged in fierce clashes with terrorists in Atriyeh and al-Saraf near the border with Turkey and repelled their attack after killing a number of them.

Also, the army’s artillery units shelled heavily terrorists’ positions and movements in Jabal (mount) al-Shir and in the village of Nawareh near the border with Turkey.

A field sources said that terrorists have launched the attacks, codenamed “God Will Defeat Them By Your Hands”, in a bid to disturb the army’s concentration on Idlib.

The sources further said that a sum of 13 terrorists was killed and their arms and military equipment were destroyed in the failed attack in Lattakia.

Army foils attacks on military positions in Hama and Homs countryside

Syrian Arab Army units, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, carried out intensive bombardment against Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists’ movements towards military points in al-Sathiyat, to the west of Salamiyeh area in Hama province, killing and injuring a number of terrorists and destroying their weapons.

SANA reporter said that other army units, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, on Sunday engaged in fierce clashes with terrorists of the so-called Jaish al-Izzah who attacked, from the direction of al-Lattmeneh, military points in the surroundings of Zilin village in the northern countryside of Hama.

The reporter added that the clashes left a number of terrorists killed while the rest fled away. The army units carried out intensive strikes on the direction from which the terrorists advanced to carry out their attack.

Armed groups also breached the de-escalation zone agreement north of Homs city by attacking a military position in the surroundings of al-Mesherfeh town.

SANA’s correspondent said that a Syrian Arab Army unit clashed with armed groups that attacked a military position near Tal Amri village northeast of al-Mesherfeh town, which resulted in thwarting the attack and eliminating a number of militants who had come from Salim Valley area east of al-Rastan city.

Turkish assault on Afrin claims more civilian lives

More civilians were killed or injured as a result of the continued Turkish assault on Afrin city in northern Aleppo.

Local sources told SANA that a civilian was killed and two others, a father and his son, were injured due to Turkish bombardment with rocket shells and artillery on al-Uroba village in Afrin area.

The sources added that the Turkish shelling on Bafloun, al-Uroba, Deir Sawan, Kefr Safra, Jundaris, al-Muabtali, and a number of villages in Rajo area resulted in a number of civilian casualties and damage to public and private properties.

A two-year-old boy was wounded when a Turkish artillery shell landed on his family’s home in Hasia village.

On Friday, a main bread production plant was fully destroyed as a result of the Turkish shelling on Rajo area, which threatens to deprive thousands of civilians in the neighboring villages of bread.

Activists posted on social media sites pictures of terrorists from Daesh (ISIS) and Jabhat al-Nusra taking part in the Turkish aggression on Afrin area.

A civilian killed, others injured due to shelling attacks in Damascus, its Countryside and Daraa

A civilian was killed and four others were injured on Sunday when the armed groups targeted neighborhoods in Damascus and its Countryside with shells, in a new breach of the de-escalation zone agreement.

A source at Damascus Countryside Police Command said that three mortar shells landed in al-Fern and al-Madares neighborhoods in Jaramana area, claiming the life of a civilian, injuring another and causing material damage.

Meanwhile, a source at Damascus Police Command told SANA that armed groups located in parts of the Eastern Ghouta area in Damascus Countryside fired eight shells at Damascus city, landing in the surroundings of al-Umawiyeen Square, al-Abbasiyeen area, and al-Dwelaa neighborhood wounding three civilians and causing material damage to properties.

SANA’s correspondent said that the Syrian Arab Army retaliated with precision strikes targeting the areas from which the shells were fired, destroying fortified positions and rocket launchers and inflicting losses upon the armed groups.

Shelling attack in Daraa city causes material damage

Material damage was caused on Sunday due to shelling attack on residential neighborhoods in Daraa city.

Armed groups positioned in some of Daraa al-Balad’s neighborhoods and al-Naziheen Camp fired four rocket shells on citizens’ houses in Shamal al-Khat neighborhood in the city, in addition to targeting the neighborhoods of al-Sahari, al-Kashef, and Daraa al-Mahata with more shells, causing massive material damage to properties.

3 civilians injured in landmine explosion in the villages of Harfa and Hader

Three civilians were wounded with varying degrees of injuries in the explosion of two landmines and an IED that had been planted by terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra, in the agricultural lands located between the outskirt of southwestern Damascus and northern Quneitra.

SANA’s reporter said that a farmer from Harfa village in the southwestern outskirt of Damascus was injured by IED’s explosion from the remnants of Jabhat al-Nusra terror organization during pasturing the sheep in the village’s lands.

Director of Martyr Mamdouh Abaza’s Hospital, Dr Nidal Sttas told SANA that the hospital received a citizen with shrapnel and the first aid was given to him then he had been to a hospital in Damascus to complete his treatment

Meanwhile, two farmers of Hader village in the northern Quneitra were injured while they were working in their lands in a blast of two land mines, planted earlier by the terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra in the village’s farms, and they were treated in Martyr Mamdouh Abaza’s Hospital.
