Syrian Army Liberates 10 New Regions from Terrorists in Deir Ezzur
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army rapidly advanced in Deir Ezzur province on Thursday, regaining control of 10 villages and inflicting heavy casualties and damage on the ISIL terrorists.
The Arabic-language Hmeimim news website reported on its facebook page that the army has retaken control of 10 villages in the Western bank of the Euphrates river, destroying 14 ISIL military vehicles, carrying weapons and ammunition, 3 tanks and 2 BMP vehicles.
Many ISIL militants were also killed during the operation.
The report added that the Russian air force also supported the operation, noting that the Russian fighter jets carried out 83 sorties and launched 174 airstrikes on ISIL’s command centers and logistic bases in Deir Ezzur in the past week.
In a relevant development on Wednesday, the Syrian Army has imposed control over 90 percent of Deir Ezzur city and come close to accomplishing its mission, field sources confirmed.
The sources said that the army men, backed up by the country’s artillery units and Air Force, continued to advance against ISIL in Deir Ezzur, driving terrorists out of half of Huweija al-Kate’a neighborhood.
They added that the army men are in control of over 90 percent of Deir Ezzur city neighborhoods following their recent advances against ISIL.
Syrian Army Advances in Purging Operations in Western Damascus
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army launched cleansing operations in the last bases of al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hayat or the Levant Liberation Board) in the Southwestern parts of Damascus, advancing towards the terrorists’ strategic positions.
The army forces intensified military operations against al-Nusra Front near Beit Jin region and the adjacent farms in Southwestern Damascus, igniting fierce clashes with the terrorists.
Meantime, the Syrian army’s air and artillery units pounded the terrorists’ bases in the two regions.
A military source said that the Syrian army soldiers continued to advance after regaining control over Tal Bardaiyeh near Moqr al-Mayer, wining back new regions near the strategic hills of Darbal and al-Maqtoul from militants.
Last week, the Syrian army had also launched another offensive against the al-Nusra Front in Southwestern Damascus, and could impose control over a key region.
The army forces engaged in heavy clashes with al-Nusra terrorists in Jabal al-Sheikh and al-Zyat regions as well as al-Bardaiyeh hill in Southwestern Damascus, winning back control over the strategic hill.
They also fiercely clashed with the terrorists in al-Zahr al-Aswad front near Beit Jin farms in Western Damascus, killing several terrorists.
Meantime, army helicopters pounded the al-Nusra positions in Beit Jin farms and Beit Jin region in Southwestern Damascus.
Army discovers Israeli-made weapons inside ISIS hideouts in al-Mayadeen

Army units discovered large amounts of weapons, ammunition and explosive devices, some of which are Israeli- made in al-Mayadeen city in southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
A field commander said the weapons included several kinds of heavy, medium and light weapons, some of which are of Israeli –made, mortars, ammunition, and NATO -made weapons and other European and western countries.
The commander added that the weapons also included armored and artillery equipment, large quantities of anti-armor , a 155 mm cannon with a range of up to 40 km, of NATO- made.
Humanitarian aid convoy arrives in Deir Ezzor

A humanitarian aid convoy arrived in Deir Ezzor city on Thursday. It is offered by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC).
Field Operations Coordinator at SARC branch in Deir Ezzor Anas Ishawi said that the 15-truck convoy is loaded with food packages, medicines and medical requirements and it’s the sixth convoy that enters the city by land after breaking the siege on the city.
On September 5th, the Syrian Arab Army broke the three-year siege that was imposed on the city of Deir Ezzor by ISIS terrorist organization and since then tens of trucks loaded with food and health materials arrived to the city where the SARC is distributing them on families every day.
