Syrian army restores control over new areas in Deir Ezzor countryside

The Syrian army, in cooperation with its allies, took control over new areas in al-Mayadeen city and Hatla village in Deir Ezzor province.
SANA reporter stated that fierce clashes erupted between army units and ISIS terrorists in al-Mayadeen city in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor that ended up with the army taking control over al-Rahbeh archeological citadel,the Artillery battalion, al-Shibli Farms and the grain silos south west Deir Ezzor city.
The clashes resulted in killing many terrorists, including tens of suicide bombers, and destroying 3 booby-trapped vehicles.
The reporter added that the army units continue its progress towards other neighborhoods in al-Mayadeen city, dismantling explosive devices and landmines planted by ISIS terrorists.
He noted to the continued military operation of the Syrian forces on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, adding that the army recaptured new posts in Hatla village and water plant, inflicting heavy losses on ISIS terrorist organization.
ISIS gatherings and fortified positions were destroyed as the army headed forward towards al-Siyasiyeh Bridge area, meanwhile 7 terrorists were killed in an airstrike which targeted their car.
The air and artillery forces, according to the reporter, carried out intensive raids on ISIS strongholds in al-Jneiniyeh and al-Husseiniyeh villages and other areas in Deir Ezzor, killing large numbers of ISIS terrorists and destroying their vehicles.

Russian Defense Ministry: 180 ISIS terrorists killed in Deir Ezzor

Russian Defense Ministry said that some 180 ISIS terrorists, most of them are foreign mercenaries, were killed in Russian airstrikes that targeted the terrorist organization’s positions in Deir Ezzor during the past 24 hours.
The Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said that 40 ISIS terrorists holding the Tajik and Iraqi nationalities were killed and a backing center that belongs to them was destroyed along with seven vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns in the Russian strikes on the surrounding of al-Bukmal city.
80 more terrorists including nine from North Caucasus were killed at the vicinity of al-Mayadeen city, in addition to destroying 18 vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns and three ammunition caches, according to Konashenkov.
The Russian military source clarified that more than 60 ISIS terrorists from the CIS countries, Tunisia and Egypt were killed in a Russian airstrike on the valley of the Euphrates River southern Deir Ezzor, in addition to destroying 12 vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns.
Konashenkov pointed out that ISIS leaders coming from North Caucasus were among the killed terrorists including Abu Omar the Chechen, Alaa-Eddin the Chechen and Salah-Eddin the Chechen.
Earlier, Konashenkov said that since the Russian aerospace forces joint the fight against ISIS terrorists in Syria on September 30, 2015, the territory controlled by ISIS shrank to less than 10 percent.
US Air Raids Leave More Civilian Casualties in Northeastern Syria
TEHRAN (FNA)-The US-led coalition fighter jets targeted a residential district in the ISIL-held Raqqa city, killing eight members of a family on Saturday.
Eight members of a family, including five children, were killed in the US airstrike on a residential unit in Raqqa city.
In the meantime, the warplanes pounded an apartment complex in al-Badou neighborhood in Raqqa city, killing or wounding tens of civilian, mostly women and children.
Relevant reports said on Tuesday that a sum of 15 civilians were killed and several more were wounded in the US-led coalition airstrikes on residential areas in a town in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.
The US warplanes bombed heavily residential neighborhoods in the town of Albu Kamal, killing 15 civilians and wounding several more.
Syrian Army Imposes Control over 1,800 sq/km of Land in Eastern Homs
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army pushed terrorists back from tens of villages and towns in the Eastern countryside of Homs city, purging 1,800 sq/km of land of terrorists, military sources reported Saturday.
The sources said that the army men drove terrorists out of 1,800 sq/km of territories and captured tens of villages, farms and towns in the Eastern countryside of Homs city.
Hundreds of terrorists were killed and wounded in the operation.
Well-informed sources reported on Friday that the army men, backed up by Russian choppers, attacked ISIL’s positions in al-Hazm region, scoring a new advance after a fierce battle with the terrorists holed up in the Northwestern part of Quaryatayn.
The sources added that army liberated al-Hazm yesterday afternoon, putting them on the Northwestern outskirts of Quaryatayn for the first time since last week.
The sources went on to say that the army has now surrounded Quaryatayn from three different sides, as they await orders to reenter the town from the high command.
Syrian Army Seizes Control over Terrorists’ Supply Line in Southwestern Damascus
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army troops continued their operations in the Southwestern territories of Damascus province and managed to take control over a main supply route of the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) on Saturday.
The army soldiers captured Lesan al-Sakhar height and the strategic al-Zaba’a hill, and managed to impose control over a key road connecting Beir Tima to Kafr Hour towards Beit Jinn farms.
The road was one of the main supply lines of Al-Nusra in the region.
Relevant reports said on Friday that the Syrian Armed Forces resumed their offensive in the Beit Jinn pocket of the Golan Heights, scoring a new advance after a tough battle with the terrorists in the region.
The army’s 90th Brigade, backed up by Fouj Al-Joulan and Liwa Suqour Al-Sahra, attacked the tall hilltop of Tal Dhib’at, where they were confronted by a large force comprised of Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Al-Nusra Front.
Within hours of launching the attack, the army soldiers and their allies managed to capture Tal Dhib’at, forcing the terrorists to withdraw towards another part of the Beit Jinn Farms.
Since the militants refused to accept a reconciliation deal in this part of the Golan Heights, the Beit Jinn pocket remains absent from any de-escalation agreement.
As long as the so-called rebels refuse to end hostilities in this area, the Syrian army will continue their field operations until the former reconsiders their decision.
ISIL Evacuates Commanders from Al-Mayadeen amid Syrian Army’s Rapid Advances
TEHRAN (FNA)- The ISIL terrorist group has transferred its commanders from the town of al-Mayadeen to another town in the Southeastern part of Deir Ezzur province as the terrorist front is collapsing in al-Mayadeen, local sources reported on Saturday.
The sources said that ISIL has dispatched its commanders from al-Mayadeen to Albu Kamal.
In the meantime, the ISIL has forwarded its gunmen, deployed in Badiyeh (desert) and Eastern Deir Ezzur, to al-Mayadeen as the army soldiers are advancing rapidly in the region.
Relevant reports said on Friday that the army men, deployed in al-Thardah mountain, stormed ISIL’s positons and pushed the gunmen back from a number of positions along the Deir Ezzur- al-Mayadeen road.
In the meantime, the Syrian Air Force and the army’s missile units pounded ISIL’s movements in the region, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.
Scores of Terrorists Killed in Russian Airstrike on ISIL Command Post in Southeastern Deir Ezzur
TEHRAN (FNA)- A sum of 80 terrorists were killed in a Russian air raid on one of the command posts of the ISIL in the town of al-Mayadeen in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
The Russian ministry said that 80 terrorists, including nine from the North Caucasus, were killed in an air attack on ISIL’s command post in al-Mayadeen.
The ministry also stressed that senior ISIL commanders, hiding for a long time in Iraq were also killed during the strike.
“According to information received via several channels and confirmed “on the ground”, influential ISIL (Daesh) field commanders, natives of the North Caucasus: Abu Omar al-Shishani, Alyauddin Al-Shishani and Salahuddin al-Shishani, who were hiding in Iraq for a long time, were killed in the attack,” Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov stated.
Konashenkov said that within the last 24 hours, the Russian Aerospace forces in Syria were focused on destroying ISIL reinforcements with a large number of foreign mercenaries arriving from Iraq to the region of Albu Kamal along the Syrian-Iraqi border.
“After additional reconnaissance and confirmation of the objectives by the Russian command in Syria, we planned an operation to destroy ISIL command posts, manpower and armored vehicles in this area by the missile and airstrikes… . In the area of the town of al- Mayadeen, we destroyed a terrorist command post and killed up to 80 militants, including 9 natives from the North Caucasus. In the same place, we destroyed 18 off-road vehicles with large-caliber weapons and three ammunition depots,” Konashenkov said.
According to Konashenkov, Russian military intelligence in Syria within a week revealed areas of their concentration and command posts near the city of Albu Kamal, as well as routes to al-Mayadeen and further to the Southern outskirts of the left-bank part of Deir Ezzur city.
Relevant reports said on Thursday that the Russian submarines fired Kalibr 10 cruise missiles from the Mediterranean hitting terrorist targets in Syria.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that the strikes were to support Syrian troops waging ground offensive in Deir Ezzur province.
The submarines ‘Veliky Novgorod’ and ‘Kolpino’ launched 10 Kalibr missiles on Thursday when patrolling the Mediterranean, Konashenkov told reporters, RT reported.
The spokesman said the submarines fired the missiles while submerged.
Before the missile strikes, Russian surveillance detected ISIL targets in Deir Ezzur province, including command centers, large ammunition depots and hangars housing terrorists’ armored vehicles, the ministry added.
“To hit these targets, Velikiy Novgorod and Kolpino submarines of the Black Sea Fleet have performed two multiple launches of Kalibr cruise missiles from the Mediterranean,” the spokesman said.
The targets were located outside the Syrian town of Mayadeen, he added.
Syrian troops are now on their ground offensive in the area near the Euphrates River, getting close air support from the Russian military.
Scores of Terrorists Killed in Clashes among Rival Groups in Northwestern Syria
TEHRAN (FNA)- Local sources in the Northwestern Idlib province reported on Saturday that scores of gunmen were killed in a fresh round of clashes among terrorists groups.
The sources said that Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) engaged in fierce clashes with the terrorists deployed in the town of Kafr Takharim which left five Al-Nusra terrorists injured.
The sources said that the clashes erupted among the terrorists after the gunmen in the town prevented Al-Nusra fighters’ movement through the region towards Armanaz.
In the meantime, some of the members of Jund al-Aqsa in the town of Sarmin in Eastern Idlib stormed Al-Nusra’s command posts in the region.
Reports said tens of militants have been killed or wounded in the battle.
The assailants managed to tack control of Al-Nusra’ command posts.
News website affiliated to the terrorist groups reported in mid-September that fresh waves of tension covered the Northwestern province of Idlib after a main terrorist group and several field commanders cut ties with Al-Nusra Front.
The websites reported that Al-Nusra dispatched several military columns towards Jeish al-Ahrar terrorist group’s bases in the towns of Banesh and Taftnaz in Northeastern Idlib after the latter announced that it defected the Al-Nusra.
In the meantime, Al-Nusra started capturing previous members of the Free Syrian Army and Ahrar al-Sham in the regions and towns in the North and North-West of the province near the border with Turkey.
The Al-Nusra put its forces on alert after rising tensions and defections in the province.
Syrian Army Restores Security to Palmyra-Sukhnah Highway
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army troops pushed ISIL back from more positions in Eastern Homs on Saturday and reopened a chunk of the highway that connects Palmyra (Tadmur) city to the town of al-Sukhnah after a week of clashes.
The Palmyra-Sukhnah Highway was reopened after the army soldiers successfully expelled the ISIL terrorists from the Al-Hayl Gas Field that is located South of al-Sukhnah.
Field sources also said that the army forces are now attempting to clear the remaining points under the ISIL’s control along the al-Sukhnah-Deir Ezzur Highway.
They added that the army will need to retake the key town of al-Shoulah, which is located directly West of Deir Ezzur city, to reopen the highway to Eastern Syria.
A Syrian journalist reported on Friday that a large convoy of Syrian Marines left the coastal province of Lattakia for the Eastern part of Homs province to drive ISIL terrorists out of the region.
Bashar Osman reported that the Syrian Marines left Lattakia for Eastern Homs, as they join the Syrian Army in their battle to retake the territory they lost near the strategic town of al-Sukhnah.
Video footage of this convoy leaving Lattakia was released by Osman, showing several vehicles filled with marines traveling through a small village.
Iraq’s Hashd Al-Shaabi, Syrian Army to Cooperate in Border Operation
TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of Hashd al-Shaabi (Iraqi popular forces) Committee Faleh al-Fayyad announced that his forces will cooperate with the Syrian army in taking back the bordering areas occupied by the terrorists.
“Hashd al-Shaabi is the (Iraqi) government’s arm and plays an important role in the liberation operations,” al-Fayyad was quoted as saying by al-Forat news website in a press conference on Saturday.
“Merely, al-Qanem region at borders with Syria is under the terrorists’ occupation and Iraq will soon cooperate with the Syrian military forces to liberate and regain control of common borders,” he added.
Reports said earlier today that the Iraqi Air Force bombed the venue of a meeting of ISIL commanders near the border with Syria on Saturday, killing 20 terrorists including emir (military commander) of the so-called Baghdad velayah (governorate) of the self-proclaimed Caliphate.
Twenty terrorists, including emir of Baghdad velayah nom de guerre Abu Tariq, were killed in the air assault on the venue of a meeting of ISIL’s senior commanders in one of al-Jamahir neighborhood of the town of al-Qa’em at border with Syria.
Abu Tariq was a former officer in Saddam Hussein’s army.

Control groups continue monitoring the ceasefire observation within the implementation of the Memorandum on creation of the de-escalation zones in the Syrian Arab Republic, which had been signed by the Russia, Turkey, and Iran on May 4, 2017.
Situation in the de-escalation zones is assessed as stable.
Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered five cases of firing in the provinces of Aleppo (2), Hama (1), Homs (1) and Damascus (1).
The Turkish party has registered four cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Idlib (1) and Damascus (3).
Most cases of unselective firing from small arms have been registered in the areas controlled by insurgents of the ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist groupings.
Humanitarian aid provided to the Syrian population
No humanitarian actions have been held by the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides over last 24 hours.
Over the last 24 hours, medical assistance has been provided to three citizens.
In total, 58,843 people have received medical aid.
Reconciliation of opposing sides
Over the last 24 hours, two ceasefire agreements have been signed: settlements al-Dar al-Kabirah (Homs province) and Khirbat al-Shabab (Damascus province) have joined ceasefire regime.
Total number of settlements that had signed reconciliation agreements is 2, 244.
Negotiations on joining ceasefire regime have been continued with field commanders of detachments of armed opposition in the Aleppo, Damascus, Homs, Hama, and al-Quneitra provinces.
Over the las 24 hours, one application has been signed with a leader of an illegal armed formation in the de-escalation zone No. 1.The number of armed formations, which have claimed to observe the ceasefire regime, reached 234.
