Authorities confiscate weapons bound for terrorists in al-Qalamoun al-Gharbi area

Authorities on Tuesday confiscated large amounts of weapons and ammunition that were being transported from the Badiya area to Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in al-Qalamoun al-Gharbi area in Damascus Countryside.

An officer told SANA that a counterterrorism unit from the military intelligence ambushed a truck loaded with large amounts of western-made weapons and ammunition.

The source clarified that the confiscated weapons included tens of thousands of rounds of various ammo types, French-made anti-armor rockets (C57), and U.S.-made CG artillery pieces, in addition to various western machineguns and sniper rifles, a number of binoculars, RPG launchers, and grenades.

The source said that the confiscation of such a large amount of western-made weapons confirm that the states fostering terrorism are still supporting the terrorist organizations in clear violation of international laws and relevant resolutions.

Army destroys ISIS training camp in Deir Ezzor

Armed Forces units on Tuesday clashed with ISIS terrorists in the southern axes of Deir Ezzor city and the surroundings of the Airport, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment upon them.

SANA’s reporter said that the Syrian Air Force carried out during the past 24 hours intensive sorties targeting ISIS positions and
movements in the Kanamat neighborhood, the Panorama area, and Ma’adan Atiq in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.

As a result of the sorties, an ISIS training camp was destroyed and a number of terrorists were killed, including one of their leaders
Mohammad Sukker al-Khamis.

Meanwhile, local sources in the eastern countryside of the province said that a group of citizens destroyed 3 ISIS cars and killed 9 of its
members using an IED on Hajin-al-Bka’an crossings.

The sources added that Saudi terrorist “Jahiman Abu Hamzeh” who was one of the ISIS “emirs” responsible for armament in the Deir Ezzor Airport area was identified among the dead.

Syrian Army Controls over 150km of Syria-Iraq Border

TEHRAN (FNA)- The chief of the Russian General Staff said that the Syrian Army troops have restored security to 150km of the borderline with Iraq, narrowing down the region for infiltration of militants and arms by the ISIL terrorists group.

The Russian General Staff said that the Syrian government forces have successfully taken back control of a 150-kilometer (93 miles) stretch of Syria’s border with Iraq, adding that four border posts and 22 checkpoints have also been set up.

“To date, control of the 150-kilometer stretch of the Syrian-Iraqi border has been restored. Four border posts and 22 checkpoints have been set up. This allowed to significantly reduce the capabilities of the ISIL to transfer militants and weapons from Iraq to Syria,” chief of the Russian General Staff’s Main Operational Directorate Col. Gen. Sergei Rudskoy said at a news briefing.

Rudskoy stressed that the Syrian government troops also took control over 211 kilometers of the Syrian-Jordanian border in Sweida and Damascus provinces.

Moreover, some 20,000 square kilometers of the Syrian territory was freed from terrorists in the past 2 months, which is 40 percent of whole liberated territory, Rudskoy said.

Since June, the Syrian government forces have liberated 55 towns from ISIL in Aleppo province.

“In the Northeastern part of Aleppo province, in the area of the Euphrates River, the Syrian armed forces continue an offensive against the ISIL terrorists. At least 55 populated areas have been liberated in the region since June 1,” Rudskoy said.

A well-placed military source said last week that the army dispatched hundreds of fresh soldiers to Southeastern Damascus to join the pro-government force’s imminent operation against terrorists near the border with Iraq.

The sources said that the army sent hundreds of fresh reinforcements to Southeastern Damascus to reinvigorate its front at border with Iraq.

The sources added that a part of the dispatched force would be responsible for restoring more security to the liberated regions.

The sources pointed to the ceasefire in Southern Syria and added that a number of the fresh forces were to stand on alert to respond to any possible threats posed by the US-backed militants in the region.

He further said that the army forces would launch an imminent anti-terrorism operation near the border with Iraq.

Russian Warplanes Bomb ISIL’s Defense Lines in Syria’s Hama

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian Air Force carried out several combat sorties over ISIL’s strongholds and movements in Eastern Hama, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

The fighter jets targeted ISIL’s movements in Qastal gas field in Eastern Hama, destroying a missile Launchpad and killing a number of terrorists.

In the meantime, the Syrian Army troops, backed up by the Syrian and Russian fighter jets, clashed fiercely with terrorists in several areas in Aqayrabat region, killing or wounding a number of terrorists.

Relevant reports said on Monday that the Russian and Syrian fighter jets carried out several combat flights over ISIL’s defense lines and movements in Eastern Hama to provide aerial back up for the Syrian government troops that are moving towards Deir Ezzur.

The warplanes launched heavy airstrikes on ISIL’s positions in the villages of Qalib al-Thor, Abu Hanaya, Salba, Mas’oud, Abu Habibat and al-Hardaneh, killing tens of terrorists and destroying their military equipment.

In the meantime, the Syrian Army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL near the town of Aqayrabat.

Also, the army’s artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at ISIL’s movements along the oil pipeline and in nearby villages, killing and wounding a number of terrorists.

Troops on Verge of Full Liberation of Southeastern Raqqa

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army troops are now on the threshold of capturing all lands South-East of Raqqa province after they won back more territories from ISIL in their push towards Deir Ezzur.

The army soldiers deployed in al-Boshra mountain engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL in the Southern part of Badiyeh (desert) al-Sham and imposed control over most heights along the banks of the Euphrates River.

In the meantime, the army units entered the village of Shanan in a region between the towns of al-Akireshi and Ma’adan along the Raqqa-Deir Ezzur.

The army men also laid siege on the town of Ma’adan that is the last ISIL stronghold South-East of Raqqa province.

The army units also pushed ISIL back from the village of al-Dalheh after hours of non-stop clashes with ISIL.

In the meantime, the Syrian Air Force pounded ISIL’s positions in Ma’adan, Zour Shemr and al-Khamissiyeh regions to open way for the ground forces towards Deri Ezzur.

Relevant reports said on Monday that the army men deployed in al-Sabkhawi region stormed ISIL’s positions and drove them out of the village of al-Salam al-Alaykom and its surrounding regions.

The ISIL suffered heavy casualties and its military hardware sustained major damage in the attack.

The army men are to end ISIL’s presence in Raqqa and move towards Deir Ezzur.

Saudi Commander of ISIL Killed in Popular Uprising in Deir Ezzur

TEHRAN (FNA)- A number of ISIL terrorists, including a Saudi commander, were killed in popular uprising in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, local sources said Tuesday.

The sources said a group of residents in the towns of Hajin and al-Ba’akan stormed ISIL terrorists’ vehicles in the towns’ passageways.

At least nine terrorists were killed in bomb attack by people on three ISIL vehicles, the sources added.

The sources also said that Jeihan Abu Hamzeh, one of the emirs of ISIL that was responsible for procurement of arms and ammunition in Deir Ezzur’s airbase, was killed in the attack.

In relevant developments in the province on Monday, the army units stormed ISIL’s defense lines in the village of Bu Omar in the Eastern countryside of Deir Ezzur, killing a number of terrorists, including Khaled Nasser, a senior field commander.

The army men also hit ISIL’s concentration centers hard in the Southern and Southwestern outskirts of the city and in areas around Deir Ezzur airbase, inflicting major damage on the militants’ equipment.

In the meantime, the Syrian Air Force bombed ISIL’s positions and movements in al-Kanamat neighborhood, al-Kanamat passageways, Huweija al-Sakar reign and Panorama base, killing and wounding a number of terrorists.

Hundreds of Fresh Soldiers Arrive in Homs to Join Last Phase of Anti-ISIL Operation

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army has dispatched hundreds of fresh forces to Eastern Homs to kick off the last phase of anti-terrorism operation to free the key town of al-Sukhnah in the depth of Badiyeh (desert).

Several convoys carrying hundreds of fresh soldiers were sent to the Eastern direction of the ancient city of Palmyra in Humeimeh region, field sources confirmed, adding that the newly-arrived forces are to take part in the final phase of anti-ISIL operation to capture al-Sukhnah and drive terrorists out of T2 military base.

The army forces are currently advancing against ISIL from the two directions of Palmyra and Southern Raqqa towards the last stronghold of ISIL in Eastern Homs that is considered as a gate to Deir Ezzur too.

Relevant reports said on Monday that the army troops drove ISIL out of more lands near the town of al-Sukhnah in the depth of Badiyeh (desert) East of Homs province and inched closer to Deir Ezzur.

The army men advanced a sum of 3km against the terrorists Northeast of the third power station, and won control over several positions from the direction of Qarah al-Maska towards al-Zabiyat energy field East of the city of Palmyra (Tadmur).

Also, the army soldiers hit ISIL’s defense lines East of the al-Heil gas power plant and managed to advance against them 1.5km.

The army units drove ISIL out of a set of heights and hills overlooking the Northern region of al-Heil oilfield in Palmyra countryside.

Syrian Army Seizes US, French Arms Cargo en Route to Terrorist-Held Regions

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army soldiers stopped and seized a truck carrying a large volume of US and French-made arms and ammunition en route to regions in Western Qalamoun that are under the control the of Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board).

The army anti-terrorism forces, tipped off by intelligence agents, ambushed and seized a truck that was carrying a large volume of American and French arms and ammunition along the road from Badiyeh (desert) to Al-Nusra-held regions in Western Qalamoun.

A military sources said that the seized cargo included tens of thousands of bullets, French C57 anti-tank missiles, American CJ cannons, a number of machineguns, different models of sniper rifles, RPG missile launchers and their ammunition and several military binoculars.

In relevant developments but in Homs province in early June, the army troops seized a number of US-made Humvee armored vehicles after capturing an ISIL base in Badiyeh (desert) in Eastern Homs.

The army men were carrying out cleansing operation in the newly-captured regions in Badiyeh when they discovered several High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), commonly known as the Humvee, at the ISIL base.

The Humvee vehicles were equipped with communication devices and a number of bombs.

In the meantime, the army forces seized maquettes of armored vehicles, cannons and missile launchers used by ISIL to fool reconnaissance planes imaging the region.
