Syrian Army Captures More Territories in Northeastern Damascus

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army forces continued the second phase of al-Fajr al-Kobra (the Grand Dawn) anti-terrorism operation in Badiyeh (desert) and managed to impose control over several heights in regions near al-Seen military airport.

The army men kicked off the second phase of al-Fajar al-Kobra operation South of the road that connects al-Seen airbase to Zaza region and managed to advance against terrorists from Tal 9hill Deco towards Tal Roqeileh, Tal al-Baqar and Tal al-A’saf and the regions of Khirbet al-Ambashi and al-Kera’ah.

The army soldiers further drove terrorists out of the mountain between Tal Deco and Tal Roqeileh up to Tal Risheh.

The army units also won back Tal Risheh Dam, Jabal (mount) Mahkoul, Baer Makhour and Jabal Sis South of al-Seen airbase.

The Army had managed to secure over 5,000 square kilometers of the Syrian Desert from the clutches of ISIL during the first stage of al-Fajr al-Kobra operation that is the largest swathes of land won back from ISIL since 2011 and includes Southern Homs.

In the meantime, the army forces managed to foil terrorists’ plan to join Badiyeh (desert) al-Sham to Badiyeh of Homs to Eastern Qalamoun, repelling ISIL’s threats to al-Seen airport.

Earlier reports said that the army troops continued their anti-terrorism operation from four directions in Ein Terma region in Eastern Ghouta and managed to seize control over more lands.

The army men stormed terrorists’ defense lines from four directions and advanced from their positions Southeast of Kaziyeh towards al-Kheir Bazaar West of Ein Terma Wadi (desert), capturing a number of buildings.

The army soldiers also reached the center of the Ein Terma-Jobar-Zmelka Triangle after a series of fierce clashes with the militants of Faylaq al-Rahman.

According to a military source, the army is now attempting to secure the Northern part of the Ein Terma-Jobar-Zmelka Triangle in order to cut off Faylaq al-Rahman’s supply route in the suburb.

Syrian, Russian Warplanes Turn Deir Ezzur into Hell for ISIL

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian and Russian warplanes launched dozens of combat flights over ISIL’s positions and movements in Deir Ezzur province, as the pro-government ground troops are getting ready to storm the last stronghold of the militants in Homs province that is seen as the gate to Deir Ezzur.

A number of ISIL terrorists were killed and others were injured in the Syrian air raids on their positions in the neighborhoods of Khasarat, al-Kanamat and al-Omal, the area near the Airport, al-Maqaber (cemetery) region, Panorama base, al-Thardah mountain and the villages of al-Baqaliyeh, Safira Tahtani, al-Hosseiniyeh, Albu Leil and the town of al-Mouhassan.

The Russian fighter jets also hit a number of ISIL bases in the towns of Gharaneej (East of Deir Ezzur), al-Sour (North of the city) and Huweijet Saqar (Southeast of the city), destroying the strongholds and multiple vehicles. Early reports said more than 20 terrorists have been killed in the raid.

The Russian aircraft also targeted the command center of al-Wahda al-Irshadiyah Building in the town of Baqrs, an important base and venue of ISIL commander’s meetings.

The identification, location, designation and marking of all ISIL targets struck in the raids last night was the result of a rigorous intelligence gathering by pro-government forces which included the use of drones and local spies in the Deir Ezzur area.

An army unit also clashed with two groups of terrorists who attacked their positions in the Heart Hospital and Furat al-Sham Hotel as well as al-Movazafeen neighborhood, killing and wounding scores of militants.

Relevant reports said on Sunday that the army’ artillery and missile units along with the country’s fighter jets pounded ISIL’s positions in the neighborhoods of Khasarat, al-Kanamat, al-Omal, Deir Ezzur airbase, al-Maqaber, Panorama base, al-Huweiqa passageway and in the villages of al-Baqaliyeh, Safireh Tahtani, al-Hosseiniyeh, Albu Leil and the town of al-Mouhassan, killing a number of terrorists, including Abu Dajaneh al-Qamedi, the Saudi commander of airport operations and Khaled Ayed al-Barjis, the ISIL commander in the town of al-Mouhassan.

Popular Uprising against Terrorists Starts in Southeastern Deir Ezzur

TEHRAN (FNA)- A large number of civilians took to the streets in a town near Deir Ezzur Province’s border with Iraq and clashed with the ISIL terrorists as the Syrian Army troops and Hezbollah fighters are rapidly advancing against ISIL in Eastern Homs to lift the siege on Deir Ezzur, local sources said on Monday.

Local sources in the town of Albu Kamal reported that a group of young men have burned 2 ISIL vehicles and a bus in the town and killed one of the terrorists.

The development came a day after three other terrorists were killed and their car was burned at the hands of locals of al-Kataf area on the outskirts of Albu Kamal.

The sources also announced that a state of turmoil and confusion still prevails among ISIL terrorists, where clashes erupted among ISIL groups in the area of al-Souar, which led to the injury of ISIL commanders, including Abu Mosaab al-Falastini and Abu Omar al-Australi.

In the meantime, the Russian and Syrian fighter jets intensified air raids on ISIL’s strongholds as army ground troops are advancing towards the last stronghold of ISIL in Eastern Homs that is considered as a gate to Deir Ezzur province.

In early May, a large number of people in the town of Albu Kamal along the Euphrates River attacked one of the checkpoints of ISIL Hasaba (security-monitoring) forces, setting fire at two of their vehicles.

Relevant reports said on Friday that the army soldiers, backed up by the country’s fighter jets, started clashes with the ISIL in Panorama square and managed to fend off their heavy attack.

The ISIL suffered heavy casualties and its military hardware sustained major damage in the failed attack.

Local sources said that the army aircraft carried out several combat flights over ISIL’s movements in Panorama region to back up the ground troops.

Several Senior ISIL Commanders Killed in Russian Airstrikes in Eastern Syria

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian Air Force, tipped off by the Baghdad-based Quadrilateral Operation Room, carried out tens of combat flights over ISIL’s strongholds in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, killing 13 notorious ISIL commanders, Arab media outlets reported.

The Arabic-language al-Mayadeen tv network quoted well-informed sources as saying that the Russian air force, informed by the Iraqi intelligence via the Joint Operations Room in Baghdad, carried out tens of combat sorties over ISIL’s strongholds and movements in al-Mayadeen region, killing a large number of ISIL terrorists, including 13 commanders.

The TV network also reported that Iraqi officials have negotiated with their counterparts in Baghdad, Damascus and Moscow to enhance their cooperation and coordination to restore more sustainable security to Iraq-Syria border and oppose creation of any buffer zone in Syria.

Syrian Army Preparing to Storm ISIL’s Vital Bastion en Route to Deir Ezzur from Two Fronts

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Special forces deployed in Southern Raqqa and the Army soldiers deployed in Eastern Homs are preparing to launch a joint anti-ISIL operation to drive terrorists out of the strategic town of al-Sukhnah that is considered as the main gate to Deir Ezzur city.

A battlefield source said the Syrian Special Forces are not looking to increase their presence in Raqqa province; “instead, they have plans to push South from the town of al-Rasafeh in Southern Raqqa towards al-Sukhnah in Eastern Homs”.

The source added that the Syrian Armed Forces plan to launch their offensive from two different fronts in order to force the ISIL to retreat from the key town near the Deir Ezzur border.

The source went on to say that the second front of the army operation starts from the Eastern direction of the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) toward West of al-Sukhnah, adding that the army forces are now advancing rapidly against terrorists in the front.

Another source said that the army has dispatched more heavy equipment to Arak region in Eastern Homs to intensify attacks on ISIL’s defense lines in al-Sukhnah.

The source further added that following ISIL’s defeats in Aleppo and Raqqa provinces, the fresh army operation that will cover Eastern Hama and Homs and the entire Deir Ezzur province is so important that the army would dispatch more forces and equipment to advance towards Deir Ezzur with the back up of the Russian Air Force.

Earlier reports said that the army men and the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters, who had captured the heights overlooking al-Heil oilfield and had laid siege on the ISIL in the strategic region, managed to advance against ISIL in the depth of Badiyeh (desert) and seized full control over a large part of al-Heil oilfield near the town of al-Sukhnah.

In the meantime, the Russian and Syrian fighter jets carried out repeated attacks on ISIL’s defense lines in al-Heil, killing a number of terrorists.

According to reports, a few dozens more of ISIL terrorists have remained in the region, and the army soldiers seem to have an easy job to move fast towards al-Sukhnah.

Field reports also said that the pro-government forces are engaged in a military operation to liberate the oil-rich town of al-Sukhnah from ISIL.

Al-Sukhnah is the last bastion of ISIL fighters in Homs and the last strategic barrier which stands before pro-government forces can lifting the siege of Deir Ezzur.

The army men and the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters, who had captured the heights overlooking al-Heil oilfield and had laid siege on the ISIL in the strategic region, managed to advance against ISIL in the depth of Badiyeh (desert) and seized full control over a large part of al-Heil oilfield near the town of al-Sukhnah.

In the meantime, the Russian and Syrian fighter jets carried out repeated attacks on ISIL’s defense lines in al-Heil, killing a number of terrorists.

According to reports, a few dozens more of ISIL terrorists have remained in the region, and the army soldiers seem to have an easy job to move fast towards al-Sukhnah.

After imposing control over the strategic region of Jubab Hamd in Eastern Homs, the army men continued to hit ISIL’s defense lines and captured the key al-Alaam region East of the village of Mosheirefeh al-Qarbiyeh that overlooks ISIL’s positions in Um al-Saharij and al-Mosheirefeh al-Janoubi in al-Shoumeriyeh mountain.

In the meantime, the army repelled ISIL’s repeated attacks to take back Jubab Hamd.

Following the recent advances of the army soldiers in Eastern Homs, the pro-government forces are now only 10km away from al-Sukhnah that is the last main stronghold of ISIL in Eastern Homs and the gate to Deir Ezzur province.

Russian Navy Dispatches One More Missile-Launcher Frigate to Syria’s Waters

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian Navy has sent Admiral Essen Frigate to Syria’s waters in Eastern Mediterranean Sea, a military source affiliated to the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

The source said that Admiral Essen frigate, equipped with missiles, left the naval base of Sebastopol in the Black Sea for Syrian coasts in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea on Sunday to join the Russian fleet there.

The source further added that the Admiral Essen frigate is to help the Russian fleet to prevent any aerial, ground and naval violation in Syria.

The Russian frigate is equipped with Caliber missiles, Shuttle missile-defense system, heavy artillery, anti-aircraft system, full missile-artillery system, torpedo and K27 choppers.

Earlier this month, photos and images of the recent visit of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to the Russia-administered Humeimim airbase in Lattakia province showed that the Russian Air Force deployed more modern warplanes and missiles in Syria.

The photos show that Russia deployed its Su-27 SM3 in Humeimim airbase.

The reports said that the fighter jet that was the last model of Su-27 had not been previously seen in Syria.

In the meantime, RVV-SD missiles, a version of the Jojo guided missiles, were seen in the footages of Humeimim.
