Raqqa: Syrian Government Forces in Control of Lake Assad Reservoir
TEHRAN (FNA)- Members of the Syrian pro-government forces take position at a water pumping station by Lake Assad and an enormous reservoir created by the Tabqa dam, which they captured near the village of Dibsi Faraj, at the entrance of Raqqa province.
Saudi Commander of ISIL’s Deir Ezzur Airport Operations Killed by Army
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army and Air Force targeted ISIL’s positions in and around the Eastern city of Deir Ezzur, killing a number of terrorists, including the Saudi commander of ISIL’s airport operation.
The army’ artillery and missile units along with the country’s fighter jets pounded ISIL’s positions in the neighborhoods of Khasarat, al-Kanamat, al-Omal, Deir Ezzur airbase, al-Maqaber (cemetery) region, Panorama base, al-Huweiqa passageway and in the villages of al-Baqaliyeh, Safireh Tahtani, al-Hosseiniyeh, Albu Leil and the town of al-Mouhassan, killing a number of terrorists, including Abu Dajaneh al-Qamedi, the Saudi commander of airport operations and Khaled Ayed al-Barjis, the ISIL commander in the town of al-Mouhassan.
Reports from Eastern Syria said earlier today that the ISIL terrorist groups is facing increasing problem with its members’ level of anxiety over their fate after the Syrian army’s rapid advances in the depth of Badiyeh (desert) in Eastern Homs towards Deir Ezzur.
The sources said that after the rapid advances made by the army against ISIL in Badiyeh recently, the ISIL front in Deir Ezzur seems perplexed and much anxious.
The sources said the terrorist group has forced residents to build new bunkers and checkpoints in a number of neighborhoods and streets of the towns of al-Mayadeen and Sabikhan in Eastern Deir Ezzur.
The sources also added that resident of al-Katf region near the town of Albu Kamal engaged in heavy fighting with ISIL and killed three of them and set fire at one of their vehicles.
Other sources reported that the army’s artillery units launched heavy shelling attack on ISIL’s positions near Deir Ezzur’s military airport, al-Huweiqa passageway, Wadi al-Thardah and the villages of al-Baqaliyeh.
The Syrian Air Force, meantime, bombed ISIL’s positions in Panorama region, West of Regiment 137 base, water resources, al-Kanamat passageway and al-Baqaliyeh village, inflicting major losses of the terrorists.
Scores of Terrorists Killed, Wounded in Huge Blast in Northwestern Syria
TEHRAN (FNA)- Reports from Northwestern Syria said an unspecified number of terrorists have been killed in a huge blast at an Ahrar al-Sham base in Northern Idlib.
Local news websites affiliated to the terrorist groups reported that a number of terrorists of Ahrar al-Sham have been killed or wounded in an explosion at one of the group’s centers in the town of Bannish North of Idlib.
In the meantime, al-Qasiyoun news website reported that the blast was caused by an explosion at an Ahrar Al-Sham arms and ammunition depot in Bannish.
The blast came as a new wave of clashes has started among rival militant groups in Idlib. Reports said on Saturday that commanders of Ahrar al-Sham and Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board) terrorist groups have become the target of increasing attacks by rival militant groups.
Meantime, opposition activists claimed that the blast in Bannish was arranged by rival militant groups, but declined to provide further details.
Some other accused Tahrir Al-Sham Hay’at of carrying out the attack. However, the Al-Qaeda linked group has not officially taken responsibility for the blast.
Local sources reported on Saturday that Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at stormed the defense lines of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in Northern Idlib and managed to impose control over several FSA positions.
The sources said that Tahrir al-Sham engaged in tough battle with the FSA and seized control over several positions of the FSA’s al-Ferqah al-Wosta group near Bab al-Hawa passageway at Syria’s border with Turkey.
In the meantime, a fresh round of tensions erupted between Ahrar al-Sham and Tahrir al-Sham, local sources said, adding that Ahrar al-Sham accused Tahrir al-Sham of militant build-up in sensitive locations for future attack on Ahrar’s vital positions in Northern Syria.
Ahrar al-Sham further warned of crushing response to any threat by Tahrir al-Sham, calling on other terrorist groups to support Ahrar and Turkish Army intervention in Syria.
Syrian Army Wins back More Strategic Regions in Quneitra
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army captured two key regions after a Sunday offensive on Al-Nusra Front (also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board) in the Southern province of Quneitra.
The army men and the National Defense Forces raided the Al-Nusra positions and managed to drive the terrorists out of the strategic region of Red Villa near the town of al-Samdaniyeh al-Qabri.
Field sources said Red Villa region is of crucial importance as the army men can now monitor and thwart any preemptive assault by the terrorists. The region links supply lines and its capture can also speed up the army’s movements.
The sources said the army also pushed terrorists back from al-Mokhtar Villa near the town of al-Samdaniyeh al-Sharqi after hours of non-stop clashes.
Relevant reports said last week that the army troops managed to fend off another Israeli-backed attack of Al-Nusra Front and restored full security to the town of al-Ba’ath in the Southern province of Quneitra.
The army men engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra terrorists and warded off their attack.
The army soldiers further carried out a rapid counter-attack and managed to push terrorists back from two lost positions West of al-Ba’ath, restoring full security to the town.
The Al-Nusra, backed up by Israel, has carried out several rounds of attacks on pro-government forces’ positions.
In the meantime, the army units engaged in heavy fighting with Al-Nusra fighters that intended to prevail over the army’s defense lines Southeast of al-Hamidiyeh in Quneitra countryside.
The army’s artillery and missile units, meanwhile, pounded the movements of the terrorists in the region, inflicting major losses on the militants and forcing them to retreat from the battlefield.
Field sources confirmed that top Commander of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board) in the region nom de guerre Abu Abdullah al-Na’eemi was killed in the army attack in Quneitra.
News websites affiliated to the terrorists confirmed that they have lost all the captured positions to the army men in areas near al-Ba’ath.
The websites termed the army’s rapid and powerful attack and militants’ failure to run coordination as two main reasons of the terrorists’ withdrawal from regions near al-Ba’ath.
Syrian Army Offensives Inflict Major Losses on Terrorists in Hama Province
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army troops and Air Force continued to hit ISIL’s positions and movements in Southwestern and Eastern Hama, killing or wounding a number of terrorists and destroying a major part of their military hardware.
The army soldiers engaged in clashes with a group of ISIL terrorists that tried to prevail over their positions in the village of Hirbnafsa in Southwestern Hama and managed to repel their attack after killing a large number of terrorists.
The remaining pockets of the ISIL terrorists retreated from the battlefield after suffering heavy defeat in Hirbnafsa.
Meantime, air force strikers launched massive raids on ISIL’s concentration centers and movements that left tens of ISIL fighters dead or wounded and their equipment destroyed.
A field source, meanwhile, said that one of the commanders of ISIL, nom de guerre Abu Islam al-Jesri, was killed along with his forces in the army attacks Southeast of the town of Aqarib al-Safi in Eastern Hama.
Military sources said on Saturday that the army forces shot down eight bomb-laden drones of the terrorists in Northwestern Hama.
The army units targeted eight small explosive-laden drones of the terrorist groups in the strategic Jabourin hill in al-Ghab plain region.
The drones were downed before targeting the pro-government forces’ positions.
Syrian Army Nearing Last Main Bastion of ISIL in Eastern Homs
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army troops continued the march on ISIL territories in Eastern Homs and deployed in new positions only 10km away from the town of al-Sukhnah, the last main stronghold of the terrorist group before Deir Ezzur.
After imposing control over the strategic region of Jubab Hamd in Eastern Homs, the army men continued to hit ISIL’s defense lines and captured the key al-Alaam region East of the village of Mosheirefeh al-Qarbiyeh that overlooks ISIL’s positions in Um al-Saharij and al-Mosheirefeh al-Janoubi in al-Shoumeriyeh mountain.
In the meantime, the army repelled ISIL’s repeated attacks to take back Jubab Hamd.
Following the recent advances of the army soldiers in Eastern Homs, the pro-government forces are now only 10km away from al-Sukhnah that is the last main stronghold of ISIL in Eastern Homs and the gate to Deir Ezzur province.
Earlier reports said that the army soldiers launched the operation from their positions in Tafheh and Manoukh hills North of Power plant 4 and managed to impose control over several overlooking heights North of Homs-Palmyra road.
In the meantime, the Syrian Air Force pounded ISIL’s movements and positions in Humeimeh and East of the town of Arak, killing a number of militants and destroying their equipment.
