Long Military Convoys of ISIL Destroyed in Syrian, Russian Air Attack in Deir Ezzur, Homs

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian and Russian air forces carried out several combat sorties in central Syria, destroying long military convoys of the ISIL terrorists.

The Syrian warplanes carried out a number of flights in Deir Ezzur, and hit hard ISIL’s vehicles near the al-Tharda Mountains and Deir Ezzur-Homs axis.

The Russian fighter jets also carried out a number of combat sorties along the Palmyra-Sukhnah Road and Sukhnah-Tabaqa Road, demolishing several vehicles.

The Syrian and Russian bombardment resulted in destruction of tens of vehicles, including bomb-laden suicide cars and other military equipment of the ISIL.

In a relevant development on Saturday, the Syrian army backed by the country’s air force repelled ISIL’s massive attack on South of Deir Ezzur, inflicting heavy losses and casualties on the terrorists while destroying their military vehicles and equipment.

The Syrian army troops engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL terrorists in Tal al-Borouk around Regiment 137 and foiled their attacks by pushing them back from that region.

A large number of ISIL terrorists were killed and wounded by the Syrian army.

The government troops, meantime, pounded ISIL’s military positions near Jisr al-Raqqa Northwest of the city of Deir Ezzur, destroying a large number of terrorists’ military vehicles.

Meantime, the Syrian fighter jets hit hard the military positions and bases of the ISIL in the villages of Hatleh and Murat East of Deir Ezzur which resulted in the destruction of a huge arms and ammunition depot.

The Syrian fighter jets also pounded the ISIL’s military positions in Huweiqa al-Sakar, Panorama and al-Tharda in areas Surrounding Deir Ezzur, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists.

In a relevant development on Friday, the Syrian Army’s artillery units and Air Force targeted a number of ISIL’s positions inside and outside the Eastern city of Deir Ezzur, causing major damage on the terrorists’ military hardware.

The artillery units launched heavy shelling on ISIL’s gathering centers and positions in Syriatel hill, Panorama base’s school, al-Azm villas near Panorama base, the neighborhoods of al-Huweiqa, al-Roshdiyeh, old airport, Tal (hill) Barouk and the village of al-Baqaliyeh.

In the meantime, the fighter jets carried out several combat flights over ISIL’s bases and defense liens in Hatleh, Marat, Huweiqa al-Sakar, Panorama base and al-Thardah region, killing and wounding a number of terrorists and setting fire at one of ISIL’s command posts in Marat that caused several explosions.

Relevant reports said on Thursday that the army men engaged in battle with ISIL along the road connecting Panorama base to al-Tanimeh region and on the al-Maqaber (cemetery) Hills, and fended off their offensive.

Over 20 ISIL militants were killed or wounded and one of their tanks was damaged in the failed attack.

In the meantime, the army soldiers fought with ISIL in the neighborhoods of al-Roshdiyeh and al-Huweiqa, killing a number of terrorists and forcing their remaining pockets to retreat.

The army aircraft also pounded ISIL’s positions in al-Hamidiyeh neighborhood, Panorama base, al-Maqaber, al-Thardah region, al-Sina’ah, al-Omal and al-Huweiqa neighborhoods, destroying an arms depot in al-Hamidiyeh and killing a number of terrorists.

Local sources, meantime, reported that Abu Sohayb al-Jazrawi, Sadui national deputy commander of Hasaba (ISIL’s security and monitoring body), was killed near the village of Abu Khashab Northwest of Deir Ezzur.

ISIL Disintegrates in Deir Ezzur Following Intensification of Military Operations by Syrian Army, Allies

TEHRAN (FNA)- The ISIL terrorist group has been disintegrated by the Syrian army’s intensified military advances in Deir Ezzur and also its massive advances in Homs province.

The Syrian army heavily pounded the concentration centers, military positions and movements of the ISIL in al-Tharda, Wadi al-Tharda, Huweiqa Qateh, old airport region, al-Mavared district and the village of al-Jafreh which resulted in the destruction of a number of command centers and death of several terrorists, including senior commanders.

The army units also engaged in fierce clashes with terrorists who had attacked the government positions in the surrounding areas of al-Roshdiyeh and Tal Borouk in the Western countryside of Deir Ezzur and managed to foil the terrorists’ attack, killing a large number of them.

“After recapturing Arak energy field, the Syrian army troops moved towards al-Sukhnah region, ISIL’s most important bastion in the Eastern countryside of Homs in a bid to move towards Deir Ezzur in a later stage,” a military source said.

“The end of the ISIL will be through the Deir Ezzur direction, because this city is the main center of the battle with the terrorist group in Eastern Syria and it acts as a strategic loop that links Iraq to Syria,” the source went on to say.

On Thursday, the Syrian army troops continued their advances against ISIL in Eastern Homs and recaptured Arak energy field on Thursday, moving towards the strategic town of al-Sukhnah along the main road to the terrorist-held city of Deir Ezzur.

The army soldiers that had earlier taken full control over Arak triangle engaged in heavy fighting with ISIL and pushed them away from Arak oilfield East of the city of Palmyra.

A large number of ISIL terrorists, including non-Syrians, were killed and their military hardware were damaged in the attack.

A military source announced that after taking control over Arak energy field the army soldiers are to move towards al-Sukhnah that is the last ISIL base in Homs province and a gate to Deir Ezzur province.
