Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, Syria’s permanent representative to the United Nations, stressed that Syria has thwarted the schemes of the countries supporting terrorism in the region, so that what is happening now is considered a settling of accounts between these countries and Syria.
Al-Jaafari said during a workshop held in the building of the General Authority for Radio and Television today that the United Nations lost credibility more than ever before and there is no longer the weight of Arabs and Muslims, but can be employed against each other and no longer have a lobbying in the United Nations.
Jaafari pointed out that “Syria has the upper hand in the issue of combating terrorism in the Security Council under international law as a sovereign state worked in partnership with another country which is justified.”
Jaafari said that “Syria’s relationship with the Russian ally is old and solid and that Syrian sovereignty is safeguarded, while the presence of foreign forces on Syrian territory without the consent of the Syrian government is a violation of its sovereignty.”
Jaafari stressed that “the Syrian constitution will be drafted only by the Syrians,” noting that there is no paper to the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria, Staffan de Mistura on the Constitution, but was replaced by meetings of technical experts and “Syrian decision-making no adventures.”
Al-Jaafari pointed out that the issue of displaced Syrians in neighboring countries and the expansion of their gatherings in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan was a political blackmail, so the Syrian government called on the displaced to return to the areas returned by the Syrian Arab army security and stability.
“It is very important to bring individual cases before the national judiciary against the perpetrators and supporters of terrorism,” Jaafari said.
