Report of the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides in the Syrian Arab Republic (April 13, 2016)

General information on the application of measures for the reconciliation of opposing sides

Preliminary truce agreements with representatives of an inhabited locality of the Homs province have been achieved.

The total number of settlements, the leaders of which had signed reconciliation agreements, has remained 61.

Ceasefire agreement with a field commander of an armed formation active in the Aleppo province has been signed.

The number of ceasefire application forms signed with leaders of armed groupings has reached 50.

Results of ceasefire monitoring

The ceasefire regime has been observed in most provinces of the Syrian Arab Republic. Within last 24 hours, 3 ceasefire violations have been registered in the Latakia province.

Ahrar al-Sham formations continued shelling with mortars and improvised multiple launch rocket systems against Sandran, Beit Smaira and Kermel.

Russian Aerospace Forces and Syrian Air Force did not make strikes on opposition armed formations, which follow ceasefire regime and informed the Russian or American Centres for reconciliation about their location.

Additional information

Militants of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist grouping continue shelling against inhabited areas and positions of the government troops in order to set off ceasefire in the Aleppo, Homs, and Latakia provinces.

In the Homs province, Ard al-Jaburin, Mzan and Scalbiyah have been shelled with mortars and improvised multiple launch rocket systems. Seven civilians were killed and 27 ones received wounds of different severity.

In the Latakia province, militants took efforts to launch offensive on positions of the Syrian army near Nahshebba after performing artillery shelling. Having suffered significant losses, terrorists retreated in direction of Barza Tahtani village.


Russia Helps UN to Deliver 37 Tonnes of Aid to Syrian Deir Ez-Zor

The Russian Aerospace Forces assisted the UN humanitarian agency World Food Programme (WFP) in delivery of 37 metric tons of humanitarian aid to the besieged Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.

According to the statement, the WFP delivered the most recent aid on Sunday and Monday, it would be enough to provide 5,000 people for a month.

“In the future, the WFP is planning to make such deliveries regularly… Airlift is not the most effective but the only possible delivery method in the current circumstances. The Russian Federation is ready to continue providing comprehensive humanitarian assistance to the Syrian population in need both in collaboration with the UN and on bilateral basis,” the ministry said.

The Russian Aerospace Forces together with Syrian partners has been delivering aid to Deir ez-Zor by airdrop since January. Since than, Russia has brought over 300 tonnes of food products, medications and necessities to the city.

Deir ez-Zor, a major Syrian eastern city with population of over 200,000 people, has been besieged by al-Nusra Front and Daesh, extremist groups outlawed in Russia, since March 2014.


A position for Jabhat al-Nusra leaders destroyed in Daraa, terrorist groups hit in other areas

The Syrian Air Force and Syrian Arab Army units continued targeting terrorist organizations on Wednesday, destroying a position for Jabhat al-Nusra leaders in Daraa province and killing many terrorists in Aleppo, Homs, and Hama.

Daraa

An army unit destroyed a center for Jabhat al-Nusra leaders in al-Hammadin area in Daraa al-Mahatta in the southern city of Daraa.

A military source explained to SANA that an army unit directly hit fortified positions of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in al-Hammadin area, which resulted in destroying a center for leaders within the organization, leaving all those inside it dead or injured.

Among those killed are Suffian Moawieh al-Abssi, Ahmad Moawieh al-Abssi and Samer Ahmad al-Taane.

Earlier on Tuesday, army units foiled an attack launched by groups affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra on a military post in Daraa al-Mahata and destroyed two machinegun-equipped vehicles in the eastern countryside of Daraa province.

Aleppo

The Syrian Air Force targeted positions and gatherings of terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra and other organizations that violated the cessation of hostilities agreement in southern Aleppo.

The air strikes hit targets in Banes village, Hidiyeh and al-Eis hills and ICARDA area, according to the military source.

The strikes resulted in the destruction of several positions and vehicles equipped with various types of machineguns and others loaded with arms and ammunition, in addition to eliminating gatherings of terrorists.

Homs

The Syrian Air Force destroyed vehicles, some of them equipped with machineguns, for ISIS terrorist organization south of al-Bardeh village, located near al-Qaryatain city in the southeastern countryside of Homs province.

A number of ISIS terrorists also were killed in the air strikes.

Hama

A military source told SANA that the Syrian Air Force launcheed sorties targeting the dens and gatherings of terrorist groups affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra in Kafar Naboda town and Attshan village in Hama countryside, killing many terrorists and destroying their equipment and vehicles.


Syrian Army Wins Back Key Village in Homs Province

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army and its allied forces continued their advances Southeast of Homs province, and seized back a strategic hilltop in the region.

The army units won back Tal SyriaTel in the Southeastern Homs in tough battle with the terrorists.

Scores of militants were killed and wounded in fierce clashes with the Syrian army and popular forces.

In a relevant development On Tuesday, the Syrian warplanes, in two rounds of combat flights, targeted al-Nusra Front’s gatherings and concentration centers in the Northern parts Homs, pinning the terrorists down behind their positions and inflicting major losses on them.

Also on Monday, the Syrian fighter jets hit hard ISIL’s main depot of heavy weapons, including the stolen aircraft of the Syrian army near the recently-liberated city of Palmyra.

The Syrian Air Force, tipped off by the intelligence force about a secret depot of modern weapon of the ISIL near Palmyra, traced and targeted a site of the terrorists near al-Hayr a-Gharbi Palace.

The ISIL munitions depot near the Palace was set ablaze in the Syrian jets’ bombardments.


Jeish Al-Aqsa’s Military Positions Destroyed in Idlib Province

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian air force pounded the Takfiri terrorists’ military fortifications in the Southeastern part of Idlib province.

The Jeish al-Aqsa terrorist group’s military positions were razed down by the Syrian fighter jets in the city of Saraqib in Southeastern Idlib.

Also, the Syrian air force destroyed the terrorists’ gathering centers near Taftanaz military airport, killing and wounding scores of militants.

The terrorists’ military hardware were also destroyed in the Syrian fighter jets’ raids in Idlib province.

In a relevant development last week, a senior Saudi commander of the al-Nusra Front terrorist group was killed in clashes with the Syrian Army troops in the Northwestern province of Idlib, military sources said.

“Abdullah al-Mohaisini, one of the most dangerous field commanders of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front, was killed in Syrian army’s assault in Jabal al-Zawiyeh,” the sources said.

A report said last Friday that a 100-member group of the Turkish Army troops crossed the border from Turkey to Syria’s Northwestern province of Idlib.

The Turkish soldiers crossed into the Syrian terrorist-held province of Idlib from the Bab al-Hawa border crossing.


Syrian Army Continues Advances in Damascus Countryside

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army and the National Defense Force (NDF) continued their advances in Damascus countryside, inflicting heavy losses on Jeish al-Islam Takfiri terrorists.

The army units and popular forces destroyed the supply route of Jeish al-Islam terrorists in the village of Mayda in Eastern Ghouta and Tal Sawwan-Tal Kurdi supply line.

The Syrian army also took full control of Tal Sawwan-Hawsh Al-Farah road after a series of fierce clashes with Jeish al-Islam and al-Nusra Front terrorists.

Scores of Takfiri terrorists were killed and wounded in the Syrian army’s attacks on their positions.

In a relevant development on Tuesday, the Syrian army and popular forces thwarted an attack by the al-Nusra Front and its allied terrorist groups on a strategic highway linking Damascus to Quneitra in the Southern part of Syria.

The al-Nusra front terrorists tried to attack al-Salam Highway between Damascus and Quneitra, but the Syrian government troops pushed them back.

The al-Nusra Front attacked al-Salam highway from four different directions of Filat al-Azm, al-Khalil Farm, Marmala and al-Mansha al-Sanayeh.

The al-Nusra terrorists sustained heavy losses in the army offensives on their military positions.

Al-Salam highway is of high strategic importance which links Damascus to Quneitra and then to Dara’a provinces. It is known as triangle of death. The Syrian army managed to take back the region from the terrorists in March 2014.


Jeish Al-Fatah Terrorists Sustain Heavy Losses in Hama Province

TEHRAN (FNA)- Reports said on Wednesday that terrorists have sustained heavy casualties in Syrian airstrikes in Northwestern Hama province.

The Jeish al-Fatah terrorist group’s military positions and gathering centers were razed down in the Syrian fighter jets’ strikes in al-Inkawi, Kafar Nabbouda, Qleidin, Abdin, Tal Waset, Tal Jazoum, al-Qahira, al-Mansour and al-Msheik regions in Northwestern Hama.

The terrorists’ military hardware was also destroyed by the Syrian army in Northwestern Hama.

At least 8 terrorists were confirmed dead in the Syrian airstrikes on Ajnad al-Sham and Ahrar al-Sham terrorists’ positions near Kafar Zita.

Meantime, an army unit destroyed a bulldozer and a BMP vehicle of terrorists with two guided missiles in al-Mansoura silos area, killing terrorists on board.

In the Eastern countryside of Hama, an army unit targeted with a guided missile a fuel tanker belonging to ISIL in Wadi al-Azib to the Northeast of al-Sheikh Hilal village.

In a relevant development on Tuesday, the Syrian Army on-stop anti-terrorism operations in al-Ghaab plains forced the terrorist groups, mainly from the al-Nusra Front, to pull their forces back from the territories the militants captured on Monday.

Positions of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front in the village of al-Mansoureh were heavily stormed by the Syrian government forces just a few minutes after capture of the village by the terrorist groups.

The Syrian soldiers and their Lebanese allies, who had taken back the siloes and farms around al-Mansoureh in the first hours of their operation, managed to prevail over the terrorist group’s strongholds and entered the village.

Al-Nusra terrorists fled the battlefield and the Syrian government forces took full control over the strategic village of al-Mansoureh.

Scores of the terrorists were killed or wounded and their military equipment was destroyed in the attacks.

Al-Nusra militants had captured the village of al-Mansoureh by heavy artillery and missile shelling of government forces in the village.

They further tried to capture the village of Kherbet al-Naqous but their attempts thwarted by the Syrian army and people’s defense forces.


Homs: Syrian Fighter Jets Destroy Takfiri Terrorists’ Positions

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian air force pounded and destroyed the military positions and fortifications of the Takfiri terrorist groups in different villages and regions throughout Homs province.

The Syrian fighter jets inflicted heavy losses on the ISIL and Al-Nusra Front terrorist groups’ military positions in Tir Ma’ala, Deir Foul and Ezzedin villages.

The Takfiri terrorists also sustained heavy losses in the surrounding areas of Jazl oilfield and Talbiseh region.

The Syrian air force also pounded and destroyed the ISIL’s gathering centers in the Northern and Eastern parts of the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) and near Um Qbeiba village and to the West of al-Baredeh village in the Eastern part of Homs province. Scores of terrorists were killed and their vehicles were also destroyed.
