Syrian Front: Civilian Casualties Rising as Attacks on Sheikh Maqsoud Continue

Within 24 hours, truce agreement with elders of an inhabited locality of the Damascus province has been achieved.

The total number of settlements, the leaders of which had signed reconciliation agreements, has reached 60.

Negotiations with a field commander of an armed opposition detachment active in the Aleppo province on joining ceasefire regime were continued.

The number of ceasefire application forms signed with leaders of armed groupings has remained 47.

Results of ceasefire monitoring

The ceasefire regime has been observed in most provinces of the Syrian Arab Republic. Within last 24 hours, 5 ceasefire violations have been registered (Latakia – 4, Hama – 1).

Militants of Ahrar al-Sham grouping, which had claimed to belong to the opposition, continued firing with mortars and small arms against units of the Syrian army near Sandran, Karmel and Ain al-Qantara (Latakia province). Two citizens were wounded.

In the Hama province, militants of the Free Syrian Army carried out mortar shelling against Harbet al-Arus village. One citizen was killed, a woman was heavily wounded.

Russian Aerospace Forces did not make strikes on armed formations, which follow ceasefire regime and informed the Russian or American Centres for reconciliation about their location.

Humanitarian aid to the population of Syria

Russian Centre for reconciliation has delivered 3.9 tons of humanitarian aid to Nasriyah (Damascus province).

In the Aleppo province, citizens of Treidem and Rayan have received 2.5 tons of food products (bread, rice, sugar and canned food).

Humanitarian convoy for citizens of the Daraa province is being formed.

According to information, which had been received from civilians and opposition forces, Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist grouping continue concentrating its forces to the north-west from Aleppo.

Within last 24 hours, two illegal armed groups (more than 350 men) have arrived in Muheim Handrat and Ballirmun. The terrorist groups are armed with 2 IFVs and 13 off-roaders with large-caliber machine guns.

One civilian killed, 4 injured in terrorist rocket attacks on Aleppo city

One civilian was killed and four others were injured in terrorist rocket and mortar attacks on residential neighborhoods in Aleppo city on Sunday.

Local sources told SANA’s correspondent that terrorists fired rocket and mortar shells at al-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city, killing one civilian and injuring three others, in addition to causing considerable material damage to houses in the area.

Terrorist organizations have repeatedly targeted al-Sheikh Maqsoud and other neighborhoods in Aleppo with mortar and rocket shells, continuously breaching the cessation of hostilities agreement in the country. These attacks have left dozens of civilians dead or injured and caused material damage to the infrastructure and private properties.

Later in the day, a source at the Aleppo Police Command said 13 rocket and mortar shells fired by terrorists fell in residential neighborhoods in the city, with 3 rocket shells falling around the Municipal Palace, while another fell on Aleppo Private School in Iskenderun St. in al-Jamiliye area, injuring one child and damaging the school and nearby houses.

The source added that another rocket shell fell near al-Rahman Mosque in al-Sabeel neighborhood, two shells fell in each of al-Midan, Franciscan, and al-Muhafaza neighborhoods, while two more shells fell in the surroundings of the Rahmo al-Hattab and Ahmad Saeed schools in Saif al-Dawla neighborhood. These attacks caused damage to public and private properties.

Until Saturday, 372 breaches by the terrorist organizations were observed by the Russian coordination center at Hmeimim base since the agreement came into effect on February 27th.

The army repels terrorist attack in Daraa al-Balad, kills more terrorists in Aleppo and Homs

Army units destroyed gatherings and vehicles for terrorists of ISIS and Jabhat al- Nusra in the northern city of Aleppo and its countryside on Sunday.

In the city, army units destroyed, in special operations, gatherings and dens of Jabhat Al-Nusra terrorists in Karem al-Jazamati, al-Sakan al- Shababi and Beni Zaid neighborhoods, a military source told SANA.

The source added that army units conducted, during the past hours, intensive operations against dens and supply routes for Jabhat al-Nusra-linked terrorist groups in Hanadarat camp and Sheqeif Farms in the northern Aleppo, inflicting losses
upon terrorists in personnel, weaponry and destroying many weapon-loaded and machinegun- equipped vehicles.

The army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, continued operations and destroyed positions and vehicles of Jabhat al-Nusra to the west of Khan Touman town and the two villages of al-Eis and al-Bawabia in the southern countryside of the province.

Meanwhile, a field source told SANA that army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, had heavy clashes with al-Nusra-affiliated terrorist groups which attacked military positions in the vicinity of Zitan town in the southern countryside of Aleppo province.

The clashes resulted in foiling the attack and destroying a Tank for terrorists, a vehicle equipped with a 23 mm heavy-machinegun and a bulldozer at the surroundings of Al-Zerbe village.

Meanwhile, the source affirmed that a heavy bombed BMB with explosives and a tank for Al-Nusra terrorists were destroyed, as well as a number of them were killed and injured during the army’s defense of the military positions in the village.

In the eastern countryside of the province, a military source said that ISIS terrorist organization received heavy losses in personnel and heavy-machinegun-equipped vehicles in army’s operations against their gatherings and sites in Aran and Berlaheen villages in the eastern countryside of the province.

Homs

The Syrian air force conducted intensive strikes against ISIS positions and vehicles in the southwestern countryside of Palmyra in Homs province.

The strikes resulted in inflicting heavy losses upon ISIS terrorists and destroying their mid and heavy-machinegun equipped vehicles in the vicinity of the al-Hayr al-Gharbi Palace, which ISIS uses as caches for munitions and stolen artifacts from Palmyra.

Earlier Saturday, authorities, while combing areas in Palmyra, recovered five archeological artifacts which had been stolen from the National Museum in Palmyra by ISIS terrorists.

Daraa

An army unit thwarted an attack by terrorist groups affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra on military posts on the outskirts of al-Manshiyeh neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad area in the southern Daraa province.

The military source said in a statement to SANA that an army unit clashed with terrorist groups linked to Jabhat al-Nusra that attacked a number of military posts in the western and southern sides of al-Manshiyeh neighborhood.

During the clashes, a number of terrorists were killed and others were injured, in addition to destroying a bulldozer which the terrorists used as a moving shield and to make sand barriers to protect their fortified points in the area.

Ahrar Al-Sham’s Aleppo Commander Killed

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army and popular forces continued their advances in the Southern part of Aleppo province, killing a number of Ahrar al-Sham movement terrorists, including their notorious commander.

Abdullah Mohammed al-Hasm, a Kuwaiti national and commander of Ahrar al-Sham Movement in Southern Aleppo, was killed in heavy clashes with the Syrian army on Saturday night, but his death was confirmed on Sunday evening.

Several other terrorists were also killed along with Mohammad al-Hasm in Southern Aleppo.

No further detail is available on the death of the top terrorist commander.

In a relevant development on Sunday, the concentration centers of al-Nusra Front in at least three neighborhoods of the Northern city of Aleppo were heavily pounded in the Syrian Army troops’ fresh round of offensives.

The Syrian soldiers stormed the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front’s positions in the neighborhoods of al-Jazmari, Youth Housing, and Bani Zeid, which claimed the lives of many terrorists and pinned them down behind their strongholds.

Syrian Army Smashes Al-Nusra Centers in Aleppo City

On Saturday, the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) foiled an attempt by the Takfiri terrorists to capture Sheikh Maqsoud district in the city of Aleppo.

The al-Nusra Front and their allies tried to take control of Sheikh Maqsoud area, but they were forced to retreat by the YPG fighters.

The Takfiri terrorists sustained heavy casualties and losses in fierce clashes with the Kurdish forces.

Syria, Russia Set to Start Liberating Aleppo Operation

TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said on Sunday that Syrian army troops are preparing for a major operation with Russian air support to liberate the country’s second-largest city of Aleppo after they recently managed to liberate the ancient city of Palmyra from the ISIL terrorist group.

“We, together with our Russian partners, are preparing for an operation to liberate Aleppo and to block all illegal armed groups which have not joined or broken the ceasefire deal,” Wael al-Halqi said Sunday as cited by TASS news agency.

Al-Halqi added that Deir Ezzur would be the next major target for Damascus after taking control of Aleppo.

He was speaking as a parliamentary delegation from Russia was visiting Syria on Sunday.

Russian Air Force Pounds ISIL Strongholds Heavily in Raqqa

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian fighter jets, in two separated combat sorties, targeted the ISIL concentration centers in different parts of the Northeastern province of Raqqa and inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists.

The Russian warplanes bombed the ISIL fortified positions near Rabaqa airbase over 10 times, which not only ended in the killing or wounding of tens of the terrorists but destroyed their military hardware in large scale.

In the meantime, the ISIL gatherings in al-Mansoureh district in the ISIL-held city of Raqqa came under at least six sorties of heavy bombardments by the Russian air fleet, which claimed the lives of several terrorists.

Both Russian bombardments of the ISIL sites were carried out at night in order to slow down the terrorist group’s tactical and logistic movements at nights.

In relevant development in the province on Thursday, the Syrian warplanes bombed the positions of the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Tabaqa airbase, killing several militants.

The sources said that the Syrian air force carried out a series of airstrikes against the strongholds of the ISIL in the Southern territories of Raqqa province.

They added that several military vehicles and centers used by terrorists were destroyed and dozens of militants were killed and wounded in the attack.

Deir Ezzur: ISIL Sustains More Losses in Syrian Air Force Raids

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian air force pounded and destroyed the military positions and gathering centers of the ISIL in two different regions in the city of Deir Ezzur on Sunday, killing several Takfiri terrorists and injuring many more.

The ISIL’s positions in al-Sina’ah (Industrial) and Haweija Saker regions in the Eastern part of Deir Ezzur city were razed down by the Syrian fighter jets.

The Syrian army’s artillery units also targeted the ISIL’s positions in al-Mura’yeh Haweija region in the Eastern part of Deir Ezzur military airport.

The ISIL’s military hardware, including their military vehicles, were destroyed in the Syrian airstrikes.

In a relevant development on Saturday, the Syrian air force pounded and destroyed the military positions and gathering centers of the Takfiri terrorists in the Southeastern part of Deir Ezzur.

The ISIL’s positions were razed down by Syrian fighter jets in al-Kassarat neighborhood Southeast of Deir Ezzur province.

Scores of ISIL terrorists were killed and wounded in the Syrian airstrikes on their military positions.

Also on Friday, the Syrian army and popular forces continued their advances in the Eastern part of Deir Ezzur province, and seized back two key regions there.

The army units and popular forces took full control of the villages of al-Mura’yeh and al-Jafrah villages in Deir Ezzur.

Scores of terrorists were killed and wounded in tough battle with the Syrian army and popular forces.

Also on Friday, the Syrian warplanes, in a fresh round of airstrikes, targeted the ISIL gathering centers in the Eastern side of the city of Deir Ezzur and inflicted serious loses on the terrorists’ military hardware.

The ISIL strongholds near the village of al-Mura’yeh and al-Jafrah came under the heavy bombardments of the Syrian warplanes.

The air attacks faced the ISIL heavy death toll and destroyed their machinegun-equipped vehicles.

Military sources said on Thursday that the Syrian Army thwarted several ISIL attempts to break its line of defense in the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur, imposing heavy casualties on the terrorists.

The Syrian forces repulsed the ISIL attack on the Eastern parts of Deir Ezzur airbase, killing and wounding tens of terrorists.

They also destroyed a bomb-laden suicide vehicle which was aimed at blowing up the Syrian army’s positions in Deir Ezzur.

Syrian Army Turns Khan Touman Region into Hell for Terrorist Groups

TEHRAN (FNA)- Terrorist groups suffered a heavy death toll and their armored vehicles and tanks sustained major damage after their attacks were repelled by Hezbollah fighters, Syrian army and the country’s fighter jets in the Southern battlefields of Aleppo province.

Over 100 terrorists were killed many more were wounded in the failed attacks near Khan Touman, al-Zarbeh and al-Khalediyeh.

At least three tanks and over nine machinegun-equipped vehicles of the militants were targeted by the Syrian fighter jets.

Several bomb-laden vehicles of the terrorist groups were detonated in the heavy fire of the Syrian army’s missile units.

Earlier reports said that the Syrian Ground and Air Forces’ joint operations to thwart the terrorist groups’ large-scale attacks in the Southern part of Aleppo province did not leave any chance for the militants to remain in the village of al-Khalediyeh for more than two-three hours.

“The terrorists of al-Nusra Front, Jund al-Aqsa, Harakat Ahrar al-Sham, Ajnad al-Sham, Faylaq al-Sham and the Free Syrian Army, who had launched massive joint offensives to capture the town of Khan Touman, captured the village of al-Khalidiyeh for a few hours but the heavy fire of the Syrian Army and Hezbollah fighters, backed up by the country’s fighter jets, forced them to retreat from the village,” the sources informed.

“The terrorist groups suffered a heavy death toll and fled the village and its surroundings to evade more casualties,” they added.

Al-Khalediyeh is fully under the control of the Syrian government forces.
