Thousands of Syrian Soldiers, Popular Forces Sent to North to Help Kurds Liberate  Aleppo City

TEHRAN (FNA)- Tens of Syrian army, popular forces and Hezbollah brigades along with hundreds of Iranian and Russian advisors have arrived in Aleppo province to start a massive operation to recapture the provincial capital city of Aleppo.

The Syrian army and National Defense Forces (NDF) have sent thousands of soldiers along with Russian and Iranian military advisors to the Southern Aleppo front in order to begin a large-scale military operation to push the Takfiri terrorists back from the remaining villages under ISIL’s control.

The Syrian army is preparing for massive offensive against the Takfiri terrorists’ military positions in Aleppo province as large reinforcements would arrive in the region soon.

Meantime, Aleppo’s joint operations room in a statement asked the people to leave the regions where terrorists are present because fierce clashes will take place in the coming hours.

The Syrian army and its allies reiterated in the statement that hellfire will be waiting for the terrorist groups in all Northern, Southern and Western warfronts in Aleppo province in coming hours.

In a relevant development earlier on Tuesday, the Syrian army and their allies, backed by Syrian and Russian air support, launched a comprehensive operation to recapture the strategic town of Al-Eis in Aleppo province.

“As a preliminary phase of the operation, the Syrian and Russian fighter jets conducted several airstrikes over the terrorists’ positions and their fortification in Al-Eis, and the nearby village of Banes, hitting a number of targets to facilitate the advance of the ground forces,” the source pointed out.

Later, the Syrian Army and National Defense Forces (NDF), took the initiative to attack the terrorist positions in al-Eis and its nearby areas and engaged in intense battles with terrorists to recapture the town South of Aleppo province.

ISIL Terrorists Fleeing Quaryatayn Abduct Tens of Christian Families to Raqqa

TEHRAN (FNA)- The ISIL terrorists have abducted several Christian families before leaving the city of Quaryatayn in Western Homs, sources informed on Tuesday.

Tens of Christians were forced to leave their houses in Quaryatayn and go to Raqqa with the fleeing ISIL terrorists.

Most of the Christian citizens of Quaryatayn had abandoned the city before the ISIL captured it.

The Syrian Army alongside the National Defense Forces, backed up by the Russian and Syrian Air Forces, ended ISIL’s rule over the ancient Assyrian town of Quaryatayn on Sunday after days of non-stop battle.

“The Syrian army and the popular forces pushed the ISIL back from its strongholds in Quaryatayn,” sources said on Sunday, adding, “The town is now under full control of the government force.”

“The ISIL terrorists are fleeing from the battlefield in large groups,” the sources added.

They further said that the government forces are fortifying their positions across the newly-liberated town.

“The army engineering units have started to defuse a large number of land mines and explosive devices planed by the terrorists in the town’s streets and building,” the sources said.

“The army is engaged in mop-up operations in the Western part of the town to hunt the remaining pockets of ISIL terrorists, who are trapped in the tight siege of government troops,” they added.

Earlier reports said that large-scale operations of the Syrian government forces in the Southwestern part of Homs province forced the ISIL terrorists to leave behind military equipment and wounded members and flee the Quaryatayn battlefront to save their lives, army sources said.

“The ISIL terrorists are retreating from their strongholds in the surroundings of the ancient town of Quaryatayn and moving towards Khanizir region in the Eastern side of Quaryatayn and the town of Kafir in the Southern side of Quaryatayn,” the sources said.

Da’esh Uses Poisonous Gas in Attack on Syrian Army’s Airbase in Deir Ezzor

Sputnik-Middle East

Daesh terrorists have already used chemical weapons at least three times in Iraq and Syria, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Daesh militants have used sulfur mustard gas, a chemical warfare agent, at least three times in Syria and Iraq since the beginning of the year, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s department on arms control said Tuesday.

“In spite of the many crimes involving the use of chemical weapons that have been committed by terrorists on the territory of Syria and Iraq, the United Nations Security Council has not responded yet. It is becoming harder and harder to block the Russian proposals under the pressure of facts. According to our data, Daesh militants used the sulfur mustard at least three times in the first quarter of 2016. This is a dangerous chemical agent, the use of which is a serious crime,” Mikhail Ulyanov told RIA Novosti.

The statement comes a day after a military source told RIA Novosti that Daesh, a jihadist group banned in Russia, used a chemical substance in an attack against a Syrian army airbase in the province of Deir Ez-zor.

In March, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva that Moscow calls for a separate convention to cover the issue of chemical terrorism as the existing international law does not solve the issue.
