Syrian Front : Turkish Army Crosses Border with Syria to Create Buffer Zone

Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu ordered to redeploy main part of the Russian Armed Forces grouping which had been performing tasks on eliminating terrorists in Syria, starting from March 15, 2016

In accordance to the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Defence Minister of the Russian Federation General of the Army Sergei Shoigu commanded to redeploying main part of the Russian Armed Forces grouping, which had been performing tasks on eliminating terrorists in the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic, to the territory of the Russian Federation starting March 15, 2016.

Technical staff of the airbase started preparing aircraft for the long-range flight to the Russian Federation airfields.

The personnel are loading equipment, logistics items and inventory into transport aviation aircraft.

Aircraft are to carry out flight from the Hmeymim airbase to permanent location airfields on the territory of Russia accompanied by military transport aviation. In the course of the long-range flight (more than 5,000 km), the aircraft will conduct intermediate flight stops at the Russian Federation airfields for being refueling and technical condition monitoring.

Report of the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides in the Syrian Arab Republic (March 14, 2016)

General information on the application of measures for the reconciliation of opposing sides

In the course of last 24 hours, preliminary ceasefire agreements have been signed with elders of 5 towns in the Hama province. Working session has been held with participants of initiative groups of three towns in the al-Quneitra province.

Total number of towns, which had joined the ceasefire agreements, remained 44 ones.

Negotiations with leaders of 6 armed formations active in the provinces of Damascus and al-Quneitra are continued. Truce terms and signing of ceasefire application forms have been discussed.

Ceasefire application forms signed with leaders of armed groupings remained 42 ones.

Results of ceasefire monitoring

In the course of last 24 hours, 14 ceasefire violations have been registered (Latakia – 5, Daraa – 5, Aleppo – 2, Damascus and Hama – by 1 in each).

Militants placing themselves in Ahrar al-Sham opposition grouping carried out mortar attacks against Qlaba, Kinsiba and Jabal Alakaya (Latakia province).

In the Damascus province, unidentified armed formations performed artillery attack on Dahaya al-Assad, Nurs and Dur al-Balad.

Humanitarian aid to the population of Syria

In the course of last 24 hours, the Russian Centre for reconciliation has received appeals from administration and elders of 4 towns and villages of the Homs and Hama provinces for humanitarian aid.

Leadership of the Russian Centre for reconciliation (Hmeymim airbase) and the American Coordination Centre (Amman) held teleconferences.

In the course of the teleconferences, the Russian party expressed dismay at ceasefire violations near Kafr Nabudah (Hama province) carried out by opposition detachments, which had been put by the American party into list of detachments joined the ceasefire regime and located in assigned areas.

The session participants discussed ceasefire violations and set further directions of ceasefire monitoring.

In the Latakia province, meeting in support of the national reconciliation has been held under the initiative of the governor. More than 400 representatives of local authorities, public and political movements, and citizens took part in the meeting. 


Turkish Army Crosses Border with Syria to Create Buffer Zone

TEHRAN (FNA)- Informed sources announced that the Turkish Army troops have crossed the border line with Syria in Northeastern province of Hasaka and embarked on building a wall of separation along the border.

The Turkish officials and army men, backed by several Tanks and armored vehicles, entered the territories of the small town of Tal Halaf in the Western part of Ra’as al-Ein and launched construction operation of buffer wall at eight meters inside the Syrian territories.

On Friday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) engaged in heavy fighting with the ISIL terrorists in the Northeastern province of Hasaka and inflicted a heavy death toll on the militants.

The clashes erupted between the SDF and the terrorists near the small town of Merkedeh in the Northern part of Hasaka province, which claimed the lives of several terrorists and damaged their military hardware.

Army repels terrorist attack in Hama countryside

Military source: Terrorist groups from the so-called “Liwa’a al-Iman” (Faith Brigade) on Monday violated the cessation of hostilities in Hama’s northern countryside along the direction of Um Hartin/Tal al-Zaatar/Maan.

Army and Armed Forces units repelled the terrorists’ attack, killing and injuring many of them and destroying several of their vehicles including 3 equipped with machineguns.

Later on Monday, the source said that terrorist groups affiliated to “al-Iman Brigade” attacked military checkpoints in the area surrounding Maan village to the north of Hama city in a new breach of the cessation of hospitalities agreement.

The source added that army units confronted the terrorist groups, destroyed 2 pick-up cars equipped with heavy machineguns and killed 6 terrorists.

Meanwhile, the army units established control over Points 853 and 600 near Wadi al-Qadahat to the direction of al-Hayal and al-Tar mountains in the eastern countryside of Homs.

The SDF alliance which embraces Arab, Kurdish and Assyrian military units in northern ‪#‎Syria‬ was formed in late 2015 – the ‪#‎SDF‬ coalition has been initiated by the People’s Defense Units (YPG) along with Arab battalions to confront the terrorist group #‎Daesh‬ (‪#‎ISIS‬), and according to their primary statement ‘establish a free and democratic Syria where everyone could exercise their legitimate rights’. Syrian Army Wins Back More Strategic Lands Near Ancient Palmyra

TEHRAN (FNA)- Military sources announced minutes ago that the Syrian army and its allies have significantly advanced against the ISIL terrorists in the Central province of Homs pushing East towards Palmyra (Tadmur).

“The Syrian army captured the three key high points of Hill 800, al-Amdan hill and al-Thar hill in the Ancient Quarries on the Western outskirts of Palmyra,” the sources siad.

The Syrian soldiers have only one mile from entering the first building blocks in the Western districts of the city.

On Friday, the Syrian army drove the ISIL terrorists back from more territories in the Eastern battlefields of Homs province, inflicting major casualties on the militants.

“The ISIL pulled forces back from more positions in the Western part of Palmyra after the army stormed them and imposed full control over several strategic heights in Jabal al-Tar and al-Hayyal,” the sources said.

The sources further added that an intense battle is underway West of Palmyra, where the Syrian army has the upper hand.

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian ground and air forces have inflicted major casualties on the ISIL terrorists and significantly slowed down the militants’ logistic movements in Homs province, military sources said on Monday.

“The Syrian army’s recent achievements in the Eastern part of Homs province near Palmyra are mainly indebted to the aerial coverage of the Syrian fighter jets and heavy shelling of the artillery units which have not left any chance for the ISIL to bring in fresh forces and arms and food supplies,” the sources said.

Earlier reports said that the Syrian army and its allies significantly advanced against the ISIL terrorists in the Central province of Homs pushing East towards Palmyra (Tadmur).

Militants’ Vast Withdrawal Allows Families to Return to Southwest of Aleppo

TEHRAN (FNA)- Recent victories of the Syrian Army and its allies against the ISIL and other terrorist groups in the Southeastern part of Aleppo province have paved the way for the safe and secure return of civilians to their villages and towns.

Last week, the Syrian army and its allies liberated a total of 13 villages in the Khanasser Plains of Southeast Aleppo after a successful military campaign against the ISIL, that laied the ground for the civilians to return to their homes in the villages of Jubb Al-Ali, Khanaser, Khirbat Al-Qalay’at, Furdaah, Al-Toubah, Hayak Al-Saghirah, Hayak Al-Kabeerah, and Zebed in the Khanasser Plains after leaving this region in late 2012.

On Thursday, anti-terrorism operation of the Syrian army and its allies in the Southeastern part of Aleppo province inflicted major losses on the ISIL terrorists and pushed them back from more key hills and villages in the region.

The Syrian government forces stormed the ISIL Takfiri terrorists’ concentration centers near the strategic hills of Shobeib, forced them to retreat and imposed full control over the mentioned hills and its nearby villages.

The army attacks claimed the lives of several terrorists and destroyed their military equipment.


Homs: Syrian Army Destroys ISIL’s Arms Depot

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army continued its advances in Homs province, and destroyed the military positions and the gathering centers of the ISIL terrorist group, including their weapons cache in the ancient historical city of Palmyra (Tadmur).

The ISIL’s arms depot was razed down by the army soldiers in Palmyra city.

Scores of Takfiri terrorists were killed and wounded in the Syrian government troops’ attacks on their military positions in Palmyra city.
