Turkish army shells Aleppo northern countryside

The Turkish artillery fired shells at areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo on Thursday, in a new outrageous violation of the international law.

Local sources in Aleppo countryside said many artillery shells, fired from across the Turkish border, fell in a number of areas.

The Turkish attack was confirmed by some Turkish media outlets, which said the Turkish army’s artillery, positioned on the border line with Syria, shelled intermittently a number of areas in Aleppo northern countryside.

The shells landed in the surroundings of Azaz city and in Ein Daqneh village.

The Turkish artillery earlier shelled mountainous regions in the countryside of Lattakia and other positions in the northern countryside of Aleppo on February 13.

A few days later, during a session held upon Russia’s request to discuss the Turkish shelling of the Syrian lands, the Security Council demanded that Turkey respect the international law and expressed its concern over the Turkish acts, falling however far short of condemning the Turkish attack.

The Turkish government has been facilitating infiltration of terrorists into Syria since the very beginning of the crisis in 2011.

Late on Wednesday, at least 500 terrorists crossed Bab al-Salam border crossing, under the Turkish authorities’ supervision, heading towards Azaz city.

Provinces, SANA

The Syrian Arab Army continued carrying out counter-terrorism operations across the country, eliminating terrorists from ISIS and confiscating a shipment of weapons.

Deir Ezzor

Army units destroyed two car bombs for ISIS terrorists before they managed to reach military posts on the outskirts of al-Bgheiliyeh village in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor province, field sources told SANA on Friday.

Other army units destroyed a ISIS convoy of vehicles, some of which equipped with heavy machineguns, on the road linking al-Jneineh with Mheimida in the province’s countryside.

The army fired artillery shells at several hideouts and gatherings of ISIS terrorists in al-Bgheiliyeh, Ayash, al-Husseiniyeh and al-Jneineh. Sites, vehicles and weapons for the terrorists were destroyed in the process.

Sweida

An army unit, in cooperation with authorities, seized on Friday morning a vehicle loaded with large amounts of weapons and ammunition in the southern countryside of Sweida.

The vehicle was coming from the eastern countryside of Daraa and was bound for the terrorist organizations in the eastern desert (Badyia).

A source in the province told SANA reporter that the weapons were hidden in a fuel tank inside the vehicle and included shells and RPG shells of different kinds.

Hasaka

Clans fighters and popular defense forces established control over al-Shadadi city 60 km south of Hasaka city after entering the city and engaging in violent clashes with ISIS terrorists who were positioned in it, killing many of the terrorists and sending dozens more fleeing, leaving their weapons and munitions behind.

Homs

Army units eliminated hotbeds of ISIS terrorists and destroyed their fortified positions in the Muthalath (triangle) area, around Shaer village, Tuloul al-Soud, east of Thanyet and Rajmeh, and al-Hayyal mountain east of Homs city, a military source told SANA.

BREAKING : SDF liberate the entire town of Shaddadi

HESEKÊ – ANF

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced yesterday initiation of Operation Wrath of Khabur on the region of Shaddadi (Şeddadê), one of the strategic military strongholds of ISIS gangs on February 16th.

Yesterday afternoon, SDF forces took control of the strategic road between Mosul and Shadadi, through which the only way of probable reinforcements from Mosul has been blocked.

During the two days of the operation, SDF combatants liberated 48 villages and hamlets as they advanced towards the Shadadi town from two directions; Mount Kizwan and town of Hawl. 25 of these were liberated around Hawl and 23 others around Mount Kizwan. At least 33 members of ISIS were killed around Hawl.

Combatants of SDF have taken control of the entire Shaddadi town Friday evening. A detailed statement on the operation is expected to be released in the coming hours.

Hasaka: Syrian Kurds Lay Siege to ISIL-Held Al-Shadadi Town

TEHRAN (FNA)- The town of al-Shadadi in Hasaka province is under siege by the Kurdish forces after they took full control of a large number of villages there, informed sources announced.

The Kurdish forces have laid siege to al-Shadadi town in Hasaka province, informed Kurdish sources said on Friday.

The sources said that the Kurdish forces are likely to take full control of Al-Shadadi in the coming hours.

“The Kurdish fighters captured ten villages, including Zahra Olia, Zahra Sofla and Um Hojra villages just three kilometers from al-Shadadi towns,” the sources said.

In a relevant development on Wednesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Kurdish “People’s Protection Units” (YPG) in a striking attack in Northeastern Syria on Thursday forced the ISIL terrorist group to retreat from vast regions in the Eastern parts of Hasaka Province.

The SDF and YPG won back the Assyrian-populated village of Al-Kharitah, also known as Gesaya, and four nearby villages around al-Hawl in Hasaka Province in a surprise attack as their other units have been striking hard at the ISIL, Al-Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham and other terrorist groups in the Northern parts of Aleppo province in Northwestern Syria in conjunction with the Damascus army, National Defense Forces and Hezbollah.

The YPG Kurds have recently bonded with the Damascus government. The Syrian army sent several arms cargoes to the YPG troops in the Northeastern province of Hasaka and trained the first group of Kurdish volunteer forces in the provincial capital city of Hasaka last week.

The SDF that is comprised of mainly Kurdish fighters as well as a few hundred Syrian Arab dissident forces have received trainings from the US and have been provided with scanty US-coalition air support in their battles in Raqqa province in Northeastern Syria; but in Northern and Northwestern battlefronts, they have been operating alongside the YPG and received the Russian air backup in their Aleppo wars that started with the conquest of Tishrin Dam on the Euphrates early in February.

Assisted by the Syrian army – that has along with popular forces and Hezbollah conquered almost all militant-held regions in Eastern, Southern, Western and Northwestern Aleppo province – and Russian air support, the Kurdish forces fighting against the terrorists in North-Northeast Aleppo province have been making striking advances against the Al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham and ISIL terrorists in February.

Earlier this week, YPG and SDF fighters prevailed over the terrorists in the highly strategic city of Tal Rifat in Northern Aleppo and captured the city.

The YPG, who enjoyed the Russian air backup, prevailed the terrorists’ positions from the Western direction and shook hand with the Kurdish units of the SDF who entered the town from the North.

ISIL’s Top Saudi Female Commander Killed in Hasaka

TEHRAN (FNA)- Rima al-Jarish, the Saudi ringleader of ISIL’s female fighters who coordinated the terrorist group’s media activities, was killed in clashes with the Syrian army and Kurdish forces in Hasaka province on Friday.

Al-Jarish was the media coordinator of ISIL’s al-Khansa Battalion in al-Shadadi town in Hasaka province.

Al-Jarish was wife of a Saudi inmate and mother of an ISIL commander who left Saudi Arabia for Syria in 2014 to join the ISIL.

Infighting Intensifies between Rival Terrorist Groups North of Syria

TEHRAN (FNA)- The ISIL and other terrorist groups operating in the Northern province of Aleppo engaged in fierce clashes with each other, leaving several terrorists dead and wounded, provincial sources said.

“The ISIL terrorists stormed the Eastern gates of Marea, where they were confronted by a large group of militants from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, the Free Syrian Army (FSA), and al-Shamiyah Front,” the sources said.

“The ISIL’s offensive was ultimately repelled by the militant rival groups, which ended in the killing and wounding of many combatants from both sides,” the sources added.

Syria has been in a state of war since 2011, with the forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad fighting against several extremist and terrorist factions, such as ISIL, which is outlawed in almost every world country.

On Thursday, the Syrian air force launched airstrikes against the ISIL in Aleppo province, killing 70 its members.

“70 militants were killed, over 60 were injured as a result of airstrikes of the Syrian Air Force against Daesh (ISIL) command posts in the regions of Jeb Ghabsha, al-Bab…in Aleppo province,” a military source said.
