The Strategic Importance of the Liberation of Nubbul and al-Zahra
TEHRAN (FNA)- A Syrian military expert underlined that breaking the siege of the key towns of Nubl and Al-Zahra in Aleppo province is highly important and it has boosted the government forces’ morale.
The Syrian army broke the terrorists’ four-year-long siege of Nubl and al-Zahra in Aleppo province on February 3.
“Breaking the siege of over 1,277 days of Nubl and Al-Zahra has considerably boosted the morale of the Syrian army and nation while on the contrary it has negatively influenced militants,” military strategies expert Brigadier General Taraki Hasan told FNA on Wednesday.
He noted that the most important achievement of winning back Nubl and al-Zahra was that their residents were relieved from terrorists’ yoke.
Brigadier General Taraki Hasan reiterated that the victory in Nubl and al-Zahra also ruined Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s plan to create a buffer zone in Northern Syria.
“Another achievement of victory in Nubl and al-Zahra was blocking all supply routes of the terrorists in Northern Aleppo near the Turkish borders,” Brigadier General Hasan said.
In relevant remarks on Monday, Head of Nubl City Council underlined that the recent winning back of his town has considerably boosted its residents’ morale after ending their four-year siege, and said that the newly liberated twin towns in Aleppo province will become the main centers for the Syrian army’s military operations in Northern Syria.
“Nubl and al-Zahra are presently the main bases of the Syrian army in Northern Aleppo,” Ali Balwa told FNA.
He reiterated that the residents of Nubl and al-Zahra dearly defended their towns against the terrorists.
“The terrorists are fleeing towards the Turkish borders as the Syrian army is making further advances into the Aleppo province,” Balwa added.
In relevant remarks on Sunday, a senior military strategist underlined that the recent victory of the Syrian army and its allies in Nubl and al-Zahra towns in Northwestern Aleppo province has provided a new model for the world armies and revolutionized military tactics at an international level.
“Breaking the siege of Nubl and al-Zahra presented a new military model and tactic to the world’s military knowledge,” Hasan Hasan told FNA.
He reiterated that the Syrian army’s victory in Nubl and al-Zahra is a success that Damascus should take pride in as it proved the Syrian army’s extraordinary power.
Also on Saturday, a senior military commander whose forces defeated the terrorists in Nubl and Al-Zahra and ended the siege of the two cities, said their victory proved that they can crush terrorists and bring back entire Syria under Damascus control.
“Breaking the siege of Nubl and al-Zahra proved that the Syrian army is capable of seizing back any region in the country,” the Syrian commander who is known by his nom de guerre ‘The Lion of Nubl’ told FNA.
He, meantime, noted that the terrorist groups have fled to the Turkish borders, and said, “The terrorist groups sustained such a large number of casualties and such a heavy defeat that they had to leave behind the dead bodies of their comrades.”
“The terrorist groups are planning to send female suicide bombers to Nubl and al-Zahra to carry out suicide attack in the two towns, but the forces stationed in those towns have taken the needed measures,” the commander added.
Also on Saturday, a retired General underlined that the same tactics used by the Syrian army and its allies to take back Nubl and al-Zahra towns will be applied to free Foua’a and Kafria in Idlib.
“I think that attacks against Jasr al-Shaghour will continue from Sarmaniya, Ghaniya, Kanasba and Badama to Saraqib,.”
Noting that Idlib city will collapse militarily after the liberation of Saraqib, he said that the army is not after the destruction of the city since it includes many towns.
“Finally, the same method used for winning back Nubl and al-Zahra will be used to free Saraqib in Idlib to be followed by breaking Foua’a and Kafria siege.”
The siege of the strategic Nubl and al-Zahra towns was removed after four years in an army offensive from the Eastern side of the two towns, while other units of the Syrian army also managed to purge terrorists from 80 percent of the village of Ma’arasta al-Khan.
The siege of Foua’a and Kafria has entered its 11th month while the terrorists have killed 600 Shiites in these two towns and prevent delivery of food and medical aid to their residents.
