The Army and Armed Forces continued its counter-terrorism operations on Tuesday, inflicting losses upon ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, and other terrorist organizations in several areas.

Daraa

An army unit destroyed a vehicle and mortar launcher for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists northeast of al-Nueimeh town, 4 km east of Daraa city, a military source told SANA.

All members of a terrorist group were killed in an army operation against a position for the so-called “Liwa al-Mutasem Billah” in Tafas town, 13 km north of Daraa city, the source added.

The army also destroyed a command center, two vehicles and sites for the terrorists to the east of the Electricity Company, in addition to destroying a vehicle equipped with a heavy machinegun in al-Abassiyeh and al-Manshiyeh neighborhoods and near the Old Customs in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa city

Deir Ezzor

A source on the ground told SANA that an army unit carried out a special operation against ISIS positions and gatherings in al-Tabia village in Mohasan area to the east of Deir Ezzor city.

The source said the operation resulted in killing more than 21 ISIS members and injuring 11 others, including Khaled al-Salama, Abdullah al-Huwaij and Mahmoud al-Saqr.

A terrorist car bomb attack hit Masaken Barzeh neighborhood in Damascus city on
Tuesday.

Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Mohammad al-Shaar said the bombing targeted the families staying at the Police Club and passersby as the road is open to the residents of the neighborhood.

Speaking to the reporters at the site of the attack, al-Shaar said three civilians were killed and 14 were injured.

He noted that a committee from the Criminal Security and Police departments in Barzeh has been formed “to know all the details” of the terrorist attack.

SANA reporter said the bombing took place near the Police Club and the fruit and vegetable market in the area, causing material damage to the Club’s building, the market and the nearby building of the General Establishment for Mills.

The Cabinet condemned the terrorist bombing, with Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi saying in a statement that the armed terrorist organizations have resorted to these “cowardly” acts as they are reeling under the Syrian Arab Army’s victories.

The Syrians will continue their fight against terrorism no matter what, he added.

Minister of Health Nizar Yazigi visited Ibn al-Nafees Hospital to check on the condition of the people injured in the attack.

In the meantime, the terrorist organization of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the bombing on social media.

Terrorist shelling of neighborhoods in Daraa city kills a civilian, injures 2 others

In a relevant context, terrorists fired mortar and rocket shells at residential neighborhoods in Daraa city, claiming the live of a civilian and injuring two others.

A source at Daraa Governorate told SANA reporter that 7 shells landed in neighborhoods in Daraa city, noting that one of which hit the area around the main bakery in Daraa al-Mahatta neighborhood, leaving one person dead.

Two other persons were injured by the shell in Daraa al-Mahatta, the source added.

The Syrian forces purged terrorists from the strategic heights of Ziyaret al-Beidha, Zahra al-Beidar al-Mahrouq and Khandaq al-Shahour in Lattakia province.

The army units also took full control of Height 1112 and Height 932 in the suburbs of al-Raqaqieh town to the East of Aku region.

The Syrian army also regained control of al-Hour town, Height 816, Height 529.5, Height 466 and Height 425.5 in the rural areas of Lattakia province.

The army’s large-scale military operations in Lattakia province came as other army units are engaged in heavy clashes with the terrorists in Dara’a and Aleppo provinces.

In a relevant development earlier today, the Syrian Army in cooperation with popular forces won back more villages and heights in the Northern parts of Lattakia near the border with Turkey after hours of heavy clashes with the terrorist groups.

The militant groups pulled forces back from their positions near the villages of Dahret al-Baiday al-Mahrouq and Ard al-Kataf, and the hill of Ziyaret al-Beidha under the heavy offensives of the Syrian army and the National Defense Forces.

Scores of the militants were killed or wounded and their military hardware and vehicles were destroyed in the army assaults.

The army units took full control of the strategic Bashoura town in the Northern part of Lattakia province after fierce clashes with the militants.

Scores of terrorists were killed and injured in the battle with the Syrian army.

Russian Warplanes Bomb Long Convoy of Militant Vehicles in Idlib

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian fighter jets targeted a long column of militant vehicles in the Northwestern province of Idlib, inflicting major losses on the convoy.

A long convoy of Jeish al-Fatah’s military vehicles, loaded with weapons and ammunition, came under the heavy raid of the Russian air fleet on a road connecting the Eastern part of Idlib to the Western part of Aleppo.

Several militants, guarding the convoy, also were killed or wounded in the strike.

On Monday, the Syrian army inflicts heavy blows to the militants active in the Northwestern province, and destroyed an ammunition depot and terminating more than a dozen of militants around the structure.

Also on Monday, nine terrorists were killed, as the army targeted several militants’ gatherings in al-Tih village, 13 km Southeast of Maarat al-Nu’aman; while, an armored vehicle with terrorists onboard was hit in Kafr Roma village.

Again in Idlib province, army units marching on Nusra Front’s terrorists, destroyed a position in territories under the control of the organization in al-Hbeit village.

According to informed sources in the area, at least five terrorists from the so-called “Jund al-Aqsa” terrorist group were also killed, in clashes with pro-government forces, in al-Tamanna village in Khan Sheikhoun area.

Syrian Army Advancing Toward Idlib City

TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrian government forces are making advances toward the northern city of Idlib, Lebanon’s Al Mayadeen television reported Monday.

According to the broadcaster, units of the Syrian army are located just a few miles outside Idlib, which is currently controlled by militants.

In late January, jihadists, particularly al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front, reinforced their positions in Aleppo, which is close to the Syria-Turkey border.

Last week, the Syrian army managed to cut off terrorists’ supply routes from Turkey in northern Aleppo. The troops, with support from the local militias, broke through the sieges in the towns of Nubl and Zahraa. Now the government army aims to gain control of the Syria-Turkey border.

Terrorists’ Training Camp in Raqqa Totally Destroyed in Syrian Air Raids

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian fighter jets pounded the ISIL training camp in the Northeastern province of Raqqa, inflicting major losses on the terrorist group.

Scores of the ISIL fresh recruits and military trainers were killed or wounded after one the terrorist group’s main training camps came under the Syrian air attacks.

Also on Sunday, the Syrian jets targeted and totally destroyed a major training building used by the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Raqqa.

The sources said at least thirty three terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured in the aerial attack over the focal point of ISIL-controlled territories in Syria.

Some reports claimed that the building was one of the ISIL’s training structures in the city of Raqqa.

Syria Army, Popular Allies Launch New Massive Offensive in Aleppo

TEHRAN (FNA)- Military sources announced minutes ago that the Syrian Army, Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF) and several Iraqi paramilitary units launched a large-scale assault on the militant groups’ positions in the Northern part of Aleppo province.

“The Syrian government forces stormed the terrorists’ defense line in the surroundings of the strategic villages of Bayanoun and Kafr Naya,” military sources said.

“The Syrian Armed Forces and their allies launched these attacks on Kafr Naya and Bayanoun after Russian fighter jets pounded the militants’ defense lines inside the villages this morning,” they further added.

Reports said earlier today that the Syrian warplanes bombed the ISIL concentration camps in several combat flights Northeast of Aleppo province.

The Syrian army’s aircrafts pounded the ISIL positions near the villages of Talet al-Shwaya, Rasm al-Alam, al-Tayibeh and Sarjet al-Kabira, which left several militants dead or wounded and inflicted heavy damage on their military grid.

In the meantime, the Syrian army and its popular allies engaged in fierce clashes with the militant groups in the neighborhoods of al-Rashedin4, al-Lairamoun and Bani Zeid in the Aleppo city, which claimed the lives of several terrorists and destroyed their military hardware.

ISIL Positions Crushed by Syrian Army near Palmyra

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army heavily pounded ISIL positions near al-Bayarat East of Palmyra in Central Homs province, military sources said on Tuesday.

Sources on the ground said the Syrian Army forces, backed by popular forces, destroyed a number of ISIL’s military vehicles and managed to inflict heavy damage on terrorists’ hardware near the occupied city of Palmyra (Tadmur), East of Homs province.

The pro-government forces also kept marching on terrorists’ positions near al-Bayarat East of the ancient city of Palmyra occupied by ISIL terrorists since early 2015.

Syrian troops also carried out concentrated operations against dozens of ISIL positions in Minter al-Kharouba and al- Rumaylah near Maheen-al-Quaryatayn road in the Southeastern regions of Homs province, inflicting huge losses on them in the region.

During the operations of Syrian army in the surrounding areas of Hayal mountain and al-Tafha village, scores of militants were killed and several of their positions were destroyed.

Also, in a series of intensive operations in Tir Ma’ala and Talbiseh in Homs’ Northern regions, pro-government forces heavily struck at ISIL’s positions, putting a number of terrorists there to death.

Yesterday, Syrian Army forces, backed by their popular allies, inflicted heavy losses and damage on militants, during a series of offensives on militant-held areas across the province of Homs.

Earlier, the Syrian army said its soldiers and popular forces have advanced against the ISIL militants in the Eastern part of Homs province and have deployed their units around the town of Quaryatayn, adding that pro-government forces are preparing to launch the final attack on the town.

The Syrian army, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) are now on the Western side of Quaryatayn and surrounded the town from three sides, leaving the ISIL with only one route to flee the area.
