In the course of the last three days, January 22-24, aircraft of the Russian aviation group in the Syrian Arab Republic performed 169 combat sorties engaging 484 objects of terrorists’ infrastructure.
In order to support the large-scale offensive of the Syrian army and units of the patriotic opposition, the Russian Aerospace Forces have been performing massive airstrikes on terrorists’ objects in Syria since January 22. Pilots are performing 70-100 sorties daily.
Supported by the Russian aviation, Syrian forces achieved significant success in the course of the offensive near Northern Latakia. Just in the course of last 24 hours, the troops have liberated from terrorists more than 92 square kilometers, 28 towns and villages including Rabia, strategically important point for further operations.
Having lost the initiative in Western Syria, leadership of the “Islamic State” made decision to concentrate main efforts on capturing Deir ez-Zor, which has been under terrorists’ siege for long.
Therefore, in accordance to representatives of the Syrian patriotic opposition and Informational Centre in Baghdad, the ISIS pulled up to 2,000 militants with armored hardware and vehicles with large-caliber machine guns to the assigned area last week.
Crews of Tu-22M3 long-range bombers performed 18 combat sorties from the territory of the Russian Federation in order to engage manpower and hardware of the ISIS near Deir ez-Zor on January 22-24. Flight range reached more than 2,000 kilometers.

Army and Armed Forces units continued carrying out counter-terrorism operations across the country on Monday, killing and injuring members of ISIS and other terrorist organizations in several areas.
An army unit targeted gatherings for ISIS in Tal Faouri village in the eastern countryside of Aleppo province on Sunday night, military source told SANA.
Another army unit carried out intensive strikes that targeted the terrorist organizations in the neighborhoods of al-Rashedeen 4, al-Rashedeen 5, and Salah Eddin in Aleppo city, killing and injuring a number of terrorists and destroying their weaponry.
The terrorist organizations admitted on their social media pages the death of a number of terrorists including terrorist Abdul Qader Ahmad al-Khateeb.
Army units destroyed terrorists’ dens and weaponry in Tulul al-Sood in al-Qariatin to the southeast of Homs.
The Army struck terrorists’ hideouts and gatherings in Talbisa, Um Sharshoh and Tal Abu al-Sanasil in the northern countryside of Homs, inflicting heavy losses upon Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist organizations in ranks and equipment.
Earlier, army units destroyed three vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns for ISIS terrorists in al-Rajmeh area in al-Baiyrat direction in the eastern countryside of Homs.
An Army and Armed Forces unit clashed with ISIS members in al-Bghailiye village in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor province, and destroyed a vehicle rigged with explosives deployed by ISIS before it reached a military position in al-Ruwad hill in the village.
A military source told SANA that another unit killed a number of terrorists from ISIS, injured others, and destroyed their weapons and munitions during clashes in al-Rushdiye neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city.
Army and Armed Forces units continued to advance on all directions in Sheikh Miskeen city in Daraa, inflicting heavy losses upon terrorists in ranks and equipment, according to a military source.
The source said that army units lunched intensive operations against terrorists’ fortified positions and gatherings which led to establishing control over the road between Sheikh Miskeen and Ibta’a and the road leading to Nawa in Daraa countryside.
The operations also resulted in destroying number of vehicles, some of them equipped with machineguns and others equipped with rocket launchers, in addition to seizing a large field hospital set up by terrorists.
The army’s engineering units dismantled number of landmines and explosive devices which terrorists had planted in the city.
Terrorist organizations acknowledged on their social media pages the killing of many of their members, including Mohammad Ahmad al-Tarad, Mohammad Kheir Attalla al-Naasan and Abdelrahman Mohammad al-Hariri.
Army units destroyed fortifications, dens and vehicles for terrorist organizations during concentrated operations against their gatherings in Daraa al- Mahatta and Daraa al-Balad neighborhoods.
Other army units destroyed vehicles and gatherings of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and other terrorist organizations, arms and munitions in al-Abasiyeh neighborhood, al-Bajabjeh area and the surroundings of Om al-Daraj well in Daraa al-Balad.

The Russian General Staff announced on Monday that 169 sorties against 484 positions for terrorist organizations in Syria were carried out during the past three days.
RT website quoted Lt.Gen. Sergey Rudskoy of the Russian General Staff as saying that intelligence reports confirm that ISIS terrorist organizations transferred about 2000 terrorists along with a number of armored vehicles and vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns to Deir Ezzor last week in an attempt to control the city.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Gen. Maj. Igor Konashenkov said earlier on Monday that Russia has no plans for establishing a new airbase in Syria, contrary to what some Western media outlets claimed.
Konashenkov said that there are no new bases or extra airport to serve as a takeoff point for Russia warplanes in Syria, and there are no plans to establish such facilities.
Russian Air Force began on September 30 launched strikes against ISIS terrorist’s sites in Syria and targeted infrastructure facilities affiliated to them including workshops for making shells and explosive devices and command centers, arms depots, fuel tanks and training bases.
Establishing control over Rabi’a area forms springboard for eliminating terrorists in Lattakia countryside

The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces said that army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, established control over Rabi’a area in the northern countryside of Lattakia province on Sunday morning following a series of successful operations that resulted in establishing control over 18 towns and villages.
In a statement, the General Command said the most notable of the aforementioned towns and villages are al-Ghnaimiye, al-Qalai’e, Beit Sukkar, al-Ouainat, Khan al-Joz, Beit Riha, Bradon, al-Souda, al-Khadra, Reef Mekhtaro, al-Jamousiye, al-Saraya, al-Rayyana, al-Shakria, and a number of vantage points and hills covering an area of over 120 square kilometers, and this was achieved after eliminating large numbers of terrorists while others fled towards the Turkish borders as their ranks suffered a complete breakdown.
The statement pointed out that the significance of this achievement lies in the fact that if follows up on the achievements made by the Armed Forces in Lattakia’s northern countryside during the past few days, particularly since Rabi’a area was one of the biggest gathering points and a nexus for transportation for terrorists in the area, therefore establishing control over it cut off terrorists’ supply lines and restricted their movement.
The General Command said that establishing control over Rabi’a area forms a springboard for eliminating the remaining terrorist groups in Lattakia’s countryside, concluding by asserting commitment to continue fighting terrorism and calling on all those who were involved in bearing arms against the state to abandon their weapons and resolve their legal status before it’s too late.

More areas in Lattakia and Aleppo have come in the army’s hands as its units intensified operations against terrorist organizations, leaving many of their members dead and destroying their vehicles and equipment.
The Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, established control over al-Rabeaa town and al-Rawda village, about 60km northeastern countryside of Lattakia, a military source told SANA Sunday.
The source added that the engineering units are combing the area and dismantling the explosive devices and landmines planted by the terrorists, some of them were killed and injured by the army operation, who fled towards Turkey.
Earlier on Saturday, Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, established control over the villages of al-Tefahiya, Hilwa al-Gharbiya, Hilwa al-Sharqiya, al-Amlik, Beit Arab, Beit Ablaq, and Tal Asholan along with all the hills surrounding them in Lattakia’s northern countryside.
In the same context, army units established control over the villages of Katar and Tal Hattabat in the eastern countryside of Aleppo province.
A field source noted in a statement to SANA that the units took control of the aforementioned areas after fierce clashes with ISIS terrorists, during which a number of their fortifications and barricades were destroyed and dozens of them were killed, while the others fled.
Military engineering units later swept the two villages and dismantled the explosive devices and mines left behind by the terrorists, the source said.
Army units destroyed an armored vehicle in al-Nazihin Camp neighborhood in Daraa city and killed a number of terrorists and destroyed their arms and ammunition in the neighborhoods of al-Manshiyeh and Daraa al-Mahatta.
At the northern entrance of Daraa city, an army unit killed all members of a terrorist group and destroyed their equipment and arms in Atman town, 4 km away from the city’s center.
The terrorist organizations acknowledged on their social media pages the death of 15 terrorists in al-Sheikh Miskeen in the northern countryside of Daraa province, including a military leader within the so-called “Saif al-Sham Brigades” who is nicknamed Abu al-Ghaith.
At the northern entrance of Daraa, a unit of army killed a number of terrorists, injured others and destroyed their arms and munitions during concentrated strikes against their fortifications in Ataman town 4 kilometers from the city center.
Other army units launched concentrated strikes against dens and gatherings of terrorist organizations in Daraa al-Mahatta and in the surroundings of the post office in Daraa al-Balad.
The strikes destroyed dens and vehicles for terrorists, some of which were equipped with heavy machine guns and a number of terrorists were killed or injured.
Army and Armed Forces units destroyed a bulldozer used by ISIS terrorists near Palmyra (Tadmur) in the direction of al-Bayyarat and an amount of their weapons and equipment in Fwaiset al-Fawares in al-Bayyarat in the eastern countryside of Homs province.
A military source told SANA that the army targeted ISIS hideouts and concentrations in Rahoum village 105 km east of Homs city, resulting in destroying some of the terrorists’ vehicles.
Another army unit destroyed ISIS vehicles in strikes on their hideouts and movements in al-Tuloul al-Soud area in al-Qaryatain 82 km southeast of Homs, while other units targeted hideouts and concentrations of Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist organizations in Talbiseh and al-Ghanto in the province’s northern countryside, destroying a number of their hideouts, vehicles, weapons, and equipment.

Three civilians killed, nine injured in terrorist bombing in Qamishli

Three civilians were killed and nine others were injured in a terrorist bombing in al-Wasati neighborhood in Qamishli city, Hasaka province.
A source at the Police Command told SANA’s correspondent that terrorists detonated an explosive device placed on a bicycle parked near a shop in Miami Street in the city, claiming the lives of two civilians and injuring ten others who were rushed to Qamishli Hospital, in addition to causing material damage to properties.
Later, the source said that one of injured civilians succumbed to his wounds while receiving treatment, raising the death toll to three.
Graduation of more self-protection squads from Aleppo, Quneitra and Lattakia

The second batch of self-protection squads of the people of Quneitra province who are living in Damascus and its countryside graduated on Sunday.
The graduates were trained in carrying out tasks of confronting terrorist attacks, setting up check points, storming into terrorists’ fortified positions and tightening control over restored areas.
The military commander in charge of the training program highlighted the increasing turnout of people from Quneitra to engage in the self-protection squads, which have been initiated upon the desire of enthusiastic people to support the Syrian Arab Army in combating the terrorist organizations and protect their areas against their crimes.
In the same context, the 4th batch of self-protection squads from the coastal province of Lattakia also graduated on Sunday. It included 600 trainees, 100 of them are women.
Earlier on Saturday, the first batch of self-protection squads in Aleppo, which consisted of hundreds of men and youths from the towns and villages of Aleppo finished their training and were given a graduation ceremony.
The graduated members carried out drills displaying some of the combat skills they acquired during their training.
They asserted their readiness to back up the Syrian army and armed forces in fighting terrorism, calling on province’s locals to join the squads to acquire military expertise and skills to defend the homeland and achieve victory.
Aleppo Governor Mohammad Marwan Ulabi clarified that the graduates’ self and voluntary enthusiasm reiterates their steadfastness and determination to face the terrorist organizations along with the heroes of the Syrian army and all the nobles who defend the homeland until achieving victory.
Hundreds of men and youths from Damascus, Lattakia, Daraa and Homs provinces finished similar training on how to protect their cities, villages and towns from terrorists, in a move to back up the Syrian army and armed forces in fighting terrorism, and to protect the areas decontaminated from terrorists.

A terrorist mortar attack on al-Wafidin Camp kills 3 people

Three civilians were killed as terrorists from “Jaish al-Islam” fired mortar shells at al-Wafidin Camp neighborhood near Damascus.
Seven others were reported injured in the attack that included 5 shells, a source at the Police Command of Damascus Countryside told SANA on Saturday, noting that a woman was among the dead and that most of the injured were women and children.
The shells, which fell in al-Thawra quarter in the neighborhood, caused material damage to the residents’ properties.
Al-Wafidin Camp, located to the northeast of Douma city, is home to thousands of families displaced from the Syrian Golan by the Israeli occupation authorities since 1967.
