Aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces continues performing strikes on units of international terrorist organizations on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic.
In the course of 10 days of the year 2016, the Russian aircraft have performed 311 combat sorties engaging 1097 objects in the Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia, Hama, Homs, Damascus, Deir ez-Zor, Hasakah, Daraa, and Raqqah provinces.
The strikes were performed against infrastructure, oil production facilities, concentrations of militants’ military hardware and manpower in order to reduce the combat potential of terrorist groupings and provide direct support to the units of the patriotic forces, which are fighting against the ISIS.
As a result of air strikes made by the aircraft of the Aerospace Forces, terrorist groupings are suffering significant losses in hardware and manpower.
That allows the Syrian army and units of the patriotic opposition to continue offensive despite bad weather (heavy showers and low temperatures).
In December 2015, militants were dislodged from 134 cities and settlements, and in the first days of 2016 – from another 19.
The best success was achieved in the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, Homs and Raqqah.
In the Aleppo province, the expansion of the security zone around the Kwaires airfield in being continued. Just in the course of the last few days, the advance of the Syrian army in the northern direction has constituted 5 km. As a result of air strikes and active offensive operations of the governmental troops, militants were dislodged from the city of Najjara, the settlement Ayishah was put under control.
In the south-west of the province in the direction of Idlib, extremists have been knocked out of Abu Ruwayl and Hawbar suffering great losses.
In the Latakia province, units of the Syrian army are conducting successful offensive operations in the northern and eastern directions.
In the course of the last few days, several important heights have been put under control. Six inhabited areas have been liberated from militants, among them – the key settlements for the future development of the offensive – Mughayriyah and Kadin.
As a result of development of the success achieved by the governmental troops, militants are suffering losses and are forced to leave their positions. However, despite all the efforts of the international community aimed at termination of help provided for terrorists, reinforcements are regularly projected for militants from the territory of Turkey to the north-west part of Latakia.
In the Hama province, the governmental troops advanced for 12-15 km in the southern-eastern direction liberating Jarniyah, Ramlia and Jarjisah achieving the Nahr al-?Asi river.
In the Homs province, units of the Syrian army liberated the Mahin city developing offensive in the eastern direction to the city of Al-Qaryatayn.
In the suburbs of Damascus, the governmental forces are conducting severe battles near the Eastern Guta, liberating one area after another. The most advantage is achieved in the directions of Blalia, Nashabiyah and Haush Jarabo.
In the Daraa province, units of the Syrian armed forces entered the city of Shaykh Maskin capturing its major part.
According to available data, field commanders Bashar Mohammed Al-Katur and Mohammed Izamal were eliminated during the battles.
The Russian aviation supports the patriotic forces in fighting international terrorists in the Syrian territories.
Today, the Russian aircraft are performing strikes in the interests of 11 units of the democratic opposition, which is staffed with more than 7,000 people.
In the course of several days, the Russian Aerospace Forces have performed 19 airstrikes in the interests of the Djeish Ahrar al-Ashair grouping, origin to the “Southern front” of the Free Syrian Army. At the moment, the detachments are fighting against extremists near al-Taffa and blocking Khosh Hammad in the Daraa province.
Under support of the Russian aviation, the Syrian Democratic Army commanded by Aiman Flyat al-Ghanim continue their offensive on Raqqah, the ISIS capital, and recently they have captured al-Salkhiya, Rdjeman Alaya, al-Kria and Khadriyat Ayn Issa.
“Soureign” and “Chelobiya” units expanded liberated territories on eastern and western sides from the dam over the Euphrates near Mahshiyat al-Tawahin, Jubb Hamzah, Arba’a Seghir, al-Jdeideh, al-Akhmar.
At the Southern direction, supported by the Russian aviation, detachments of “Lions of the East” and “Kalamun” advanced by more than 50 kilometers and captured Zaza, Kessara and el-Mhasse in the course of offensive on Palmyra.
At present, detachments of the Syrian patriotic forces continue pressing success at all directions.
It is to be mentioned that the number of patriotic opposition units is being increased as a result of work aimed at joining efforts of all forces interested in liberating Syria from international terrorists.
The Russian Defence Ministry is confident that only joint efforts taken by the Syrian government and other patriotic forces will allow to achieve the victory over terrorism.
New areas under army control during operation to establish control over Khan al-Assal in Aleppo

Army units, in cooperation with back-up forces, launched Monday morning a wide military operation from different axes on the hideouts and hotbeds of terrorist organizations in Khan al-Assal area, in the western countryside of Aleppo city, a military source told SANA on Monday.
The operation aims to establish control on the area located 20 km to the west of Aleppo and uproot terrorism from it, the source added.
Meanwhile, Field sources told SANA that terrorist organizations were inflicted heavy losses in personnel and equipment during the operation, pointing out that the southern entrance of Aleppo city became under the army’s fires.
The army, in cooperation with the back-up forces, carried out intensive operation using various arms on the terrorist organizations’ gatherings in al-Rashedeen area, west of Aleppo city.
Meanwhile, SANA reporter said that an army unit discovered a tunnel of 15 km length for ISIS which extends among the villages of Aisha, Ayn al-Bida and al-Miltafa in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
al-Zaitoun Height and Tuloul Hazmar under army control
Later in the day, army units, in cooperation with the back-up forces, established control over al-Zaitoun Height and Tuloul Hazmar west of Aleppo, the military source affirmed.
Earlier Sunday, a delegation from various mass media outlets, included reporters from 30 media outlets from Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Turkey, and Iran, visited al-Hadir town and number of villages in the southern countryside of Aleppo which the Syrian Army had re-established control over, and the reporters witnessed the destruction caused by the Takfiri terrorist organizations, and listened to the eyewitness accounts of locals who returned to their houses under the protection of the Syrian Army after years of displacement, telling the reporters about the crimes perpetrated.
On the other hand, the army , among other operations in Aleppo province on Sunday, destroyed positions and hotbeds for terrorist organizations in the village of al-Mansoura, 10 km west of Aleppo city.
Aisha village under army control
In the eastern countryside of the province, army units established control over Aisha village and the surrounding farms in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, after inflicting heavy losses upon the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization in personnel and equipment.
Field sources told SANA Monday that the army clashed with the ISIS terrorists, destroying their fortifications and tunnels and inflicting heavy losses upon them.
The sources added that the army combed the village and dismantled scores of the explosive devices planted by the ISIS terrorists, killing a number of its members, while the rest fled.
An army unit carried out an operation inside al-Naziheen Camp in the outskirts of Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa city, killing number of terrorists, injuring many others, and destroying their weapons and ammunition.
Gatherings of terrorists were also destroyed during an army operation in Jamrin village to the north of Busra al-Cham city.
An army unit destroyed during a special operation positions of “Jund al-Aqsa” terrorist organization in Kafr Roma village in Ma’aret al-Nu’man area in Idleb province, according to sources in the ground.
The sources added that an armored vehicle was also destroyed during the operation and 20 terrorists were killed, including Ghassan Shihib and the Lebanese terrorist Ahmad al-Zein.
Another army unit killed 3 terrorists and destroyed their vehicle during an operation against one of the sites of “Jaish al-Fateh” terror organization in Oram al-Joz village to the south of Idleb city.
The sources also confirmed that a car was destroyed and at least 11 terrorists from Jund al-Aqsa and Jabhat al-Nusra were killed during a special operation in Tal al-Rman to the south of Sarqib.
The Syrian Army continued its operations against “Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement” terrorist organization in Atshan village to the north of Hama city, sources in the ground told SANA.
During the operations, 8 terrorists were killed, 10 others were injured, and 2 vehicles which were used by terrorists for transporting weapons and ammunition were destroyed.
The sources said that an army unit launched strikes against the sites and gatherings of the “al-Ezza Gathering” terror organization in al-Zakat town, killing 7 terrorists including Mohamed Ali al-Rais, while another army unit destroyed a terrorist base in al-Latamina town.
3 children killed, 2 persons injured in terrorist rocket attacks in Aleppo

Three children were killed and two persons were injured in terrorist rocket attacks on al-Ashrafiyeh neighborhood in Aleppo city.
A source at Aleppo police Command told SANA on Monday that the Takfiri terrorists positioned in Bani Zaid neighborhood targeted al-Ashrafiyeh neighborhood with rocket shells, claiming the lives of three children and injuring two civilians.
The terrorist attacks, according to the source, caused material damage to public and private properties.
Earlier Saturday, terrorist organizations fired mortars at houses in the besieged Nubbul and al-Zahraa towns in the northern countryside of Aleppo province, leaving several people injured.
On January 4, the terrorist organizations located in Bani Zaid neighborhood targeted residential neighborhoods in the city with rocket shells, one of which fell on a residential building behind the Church Street in al-Sirian al-Jadeed neighborhood, injuring four civilians and destroying part of the building.

Syrian Army establishes control over areas in Lattakia, Air Force destroys ISIS trucks and tankers

The Syrian army and armed forces , backed by the air force, destroyed Sunday ISIS trucks loaded with stolen oil in Deir Ezzour and eliminated other terrorist organizations in other provinces.
An army unit, aided by the popular defense groups, established control over Height 867 and Nabe’ Miro Valley in the northern countryside of Lattakia, a military source announced on Sunday.
The Syrian air force destroyed 20 trucks loaded with stolen Syrian oil by ISIS terrorists in al-Mayadeen city near the border with Iraq.
Field sources told SANA that the air strikes destroyed all the trucks, that were heading for al-Mayadeen city near the Iraqi border, where operations of smuggling the stolen oil to Turkey were carried out by Turkish speculators.
Media reports affirm that known Turkish officials including Recep Tayyib Erdogan and his family members are involved in buying the oil that ISIS terrorists steal from Syria and Iraq.
According to the sources, a number of ISIS terrorists were killed in artillery and rocket hits carried out by the army units on their positions and gatherings on the outskirts of al-Jafra area, Deir Ezzour.
Additionally, an army unit destroyed bulldozer for ISIS terrorists in Jabal al-Tharda in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor province.
Later, a military source said the army’s air force carried out sorties targeting ISIS terrorist’s positions and movements in the villages of al-Jafra and al-Marei’yieh in the eastern countryside of the province.
Many of the terrorist were killed and a number of vehicles equipped with machine guns were destroyed in the airstrikes.
Meanwhile, ISIS acknowledged on its social media pages that the organization killed two of its leaders in al-Mayadeen city who are Ramadan Izzat al-Jawad and Hassan al-Awaji.
The Syrian Army air force destroyed terrorist organizations’ vehicles in Khan Shaikhoun, Saraqeb, Ma’arkaba, Lahaya and al-Latamenah in the countryside of Idleb and Hama provinces, a military source told SANA.
Terrorist organizations acknowledged the killing of 16 of their members, among them self-claimed leaders in the countryside of Hama and Idleb provinces.
The terrorist organizations said that the so- called field commander in Jund al-Aqsa, Mohammad Fayez al-Hussein along with 14 other terrorists were killed in the town of Morek, 30 km north of Hama city, among them terrorists Abdel-Jabbar al-Sattouf, Riyad Jihad al-Salloum, Omar Khaled al-Saraqibi and Mahmoud Hassan al-Yassin.
The Takfiri organizations also admitted the killing of the commander in Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement, nicknamed Abdo Fatin al-Jazar in the explosion of an explosive device on Ibleen-Ibdita road in the countryside of Idleb.
An army unit targeted hideouts of the terrorist organizations in al-Tamoura village and Andan town, 12 km north of Aleppo city, killing and injuring a number of terrorists and destroying their arms and ammunition.
An army unit destroyed positions and hotbeds for terrorist organizations in the village of al-Mansoura, 10km west of Aleppo city.
A number of ISIS terrorists were killed in army operations against their dens and movements in Eisheh village, 38 km to the northeast of Aleppo city.
Army units destroyed terrorists’ hotbeds with all arms and ammunition inside them in the neighborhoods of al-Myasar and Bani Zaid in Aleppo city.
Gatherings and movements of ISIS terrorists were hit in airstrikes carried out by the Syrian Air Force in the surroundings of Wadi Abiad Dam and al-Bayarat area, 10 km west of Palmyra city in the countryside of Homs province, which resulted in destroying a number of vehicles loaded with arms and ammunition.
The Air Force also destroyed ISIS hideouts and vehicles east of Mhein town and in and around al-Qaryatain city, while airstrikes targeting terrorists’ positions in Teir Maala village 7 km north of Homs city resulted in destroying fortified positions and hideouts for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists, leaving many terrorists dead or injured.
An army unit carried out a special operation in the surroundings of Shaer village in Palmyra (Tadmur) countryside which resulted in destroying a hideout for ISIS terrorists along with the weapons and munitions inside it, while another unit clashed with ISIS terrorists who attempted to attack a military position near al-Bayarat area, which left a number of terrorists dead and destroyed two armored vehicles and a machinegun-equipped car they were using.
Army units conducted precise operations against terrorists’ positions in the eastern part of al-Hamadin quarter and near the National Hospital and the Electricity Company in Daraa al-Mahatta neighborhood in the southern province of Daraa.
Many of the terrorists were killed and their hideouts were destroyed during the operations.
Units of the Army and Armed Forces destroyed a munitions depot, a rocket artillery piece, and two mortar launchers used by terrorists during the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the Eastern Ghouta part of Damascus Countryside.
Sources on the ground told SANA’s correspondent that army units carried out intensive operations against dens of terrorist organizations in al-Nashabieh town 12 kilometers southeast of Douma city, resulting in destroying a munitions depot in Tal Ferzat and a base for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization in which a sniper was positioned, in addition to an artillery piece used for firing makeshift shells, and two mortar launchers were destroyed in the southern side of the town. Nine terrorists also were confirmed dead during the operation.
Another army unit clashed with a terrorist group northeast al-Belalieh village to the north of al-Nashabiyeh, and killed three of its members.
In Douma, army operations resulted in destroying a position for the Jaish al-Islam terror organization and a vehicle loaded with ammunition in Misraba village three kilometers southeast of Douma, killing a number of terrorists including an Iraqi named Yaseen al-Bajouri.
Another army unit directed concentrated strikes against movements of terrorist organizations in Tal al-Sawan farms and Hosh al-Fara to the east of Douma, destroying a pickup truck and killing three terrorists.
The Syrian Air Force on Sunday afternoon carried airstrikes against a number of tankers used by ISIS terrorists to smuggle petroleum to the east of Shaghaf area in the southeastern countryside of Sweida province.
A military source said in a statement to SANA that the strikes destroyed a total of 16 tankers and killed a number of terrorists.
