Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff Sergei Rudskoy summed up the results of activities of the Russian air group in Syria since September 30
Since September 30, the Russian air group has performed 4201 combat sorties, among them –145 ones have been carried out by the strategic missile-carrying and long-range bomber aviation. Bomb strikes are made on main infrastructural objects, concentrations of military hardware and manpower of militants.
In the course of the last several weeks, the intensiveness of strikes on the positions of the ISIS and other terrorist groupings has been increased.
The Russian aviation continues undermining terrorists’ sources of income in Syria – that is one of the priorities.
For this purpose, just in the last three days, 6 objects of militants’ illegal oil production as well as 7 automobile columns with crude oil and oil products have been destroyed.
Since the beginning of the operation, the Russian aviation has eliminated over 1200 such tanker trucks.
The Syrian Armed Forces supported by the Russian aviation continue offensive operation along all the frontline, the most severe combat actions were in the Latakia, Aleppo, Hama, and Homs provinces as well as in the suburbs of Damascus.
Terrorists’ formations are suffering heavy losses.
In the Aleppo province, governmental forces continue expanding the security zone around the Kwaires airfield developing offensive in the south-west direction to Idlib.
During the last week, despite the tough resistance of illegal armed groups, they have liberated 9 inhabited areas.
In the Latakia province, assault groups of the Syrian Army conducted offensive actions in the northern and western directions.
In the Northern Latakia, governmental forces extended under-control territories of Syrian-Turkish borderline.
Near Sirmaniyah and Salma, militants have retreated from important tactical heights and inhabited areas.
In Central Syria, governmental forces and militia captured a number of important heights and points near Mahin.
In suburbs of Damascus, governmental forces continue making incursions in order to narrow the entrapment area for illegal armed groups in directions to Marj al-Sultan, an-Nula, Duma, and Zibdin
Activities performed by so-called moderate opposition units against the ISIS contribute to successful ground operation of the Syrian Armed Forces.
Now, there are more than 150 such formations active on the Syrian territory. Most patriotically-minded are fighting against terrorists in cooperation with the Syrian governmental forces. These are 5,000 men in total in the formations.
The Russian Defence Ministry established and keeps constant contact with them. The opposition formations are providing the Russian aviation group leadership with coordinates of terrorists’ objects for their elimination.
For instance, in order to support the offensive carried out by Ganim detachment, which forms part of the Free Syrian Army and Syrian Democratic Forces, the Russian aviation performed 17 strikes on ISIS positions to the north from Raqqah last day.
According to the objective monitoring data, the Russian aircraft eliminated more than 150 militants and 11 items of hardware.
Moreover, the aircraft performed 18 strikes on terrorists in the interests of “Desert Lions” and “Kalamun” formations near Palmyra and El-Karatien.
It is to be stressed that the Russian Defence Ministry is to continue the work aimed to joining efforts of governmental forces and other armed formations, which are interested in liberating Syria from international terrorists.

Army continued targeting the terrorist organizations’ gatherings, hideouts and hotbeds in many areas across the country, eliminating scores on their members and injuring others.
Aircraft movement resumed at Kwairis Military Airport
For the first time in over three years, military helicopters for the Syrian Arab Army took off from Kwairis Military Airport in Aleppo province on Tuesday, signaling its return as a strategic springboard for operations against ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, and other terrorist organizations.
The airport’s return to operational status was announced by a military source who confirmed that military helicopters took off from the site which is located 40km east of Aleppo city. Training activities has also resumed in the nearby Air Force Academy.
Commander of the Airport Gen. Munzer Zammam asserted commitment to continuing the fight against terrorism, saying that the airport is back in service thanks to the valiance of its garrison which repelled constant attacks by ISIS for three years.
The stalwart defense of the airport’s garrison motivated the army forces that were working to break the siege imposed on the airport, eventually succeeding in this effort under the leadership of Col. Suhail Hassan, and afterwards these forces went on to secure the surroundings of the airport and the academy established control over the nearby villages, farms, and the international highway.
An army unit carried out dealt heavy blows to terrorist dens in Erbin town in Damascus Countryside, field sources told SANA reporter.
The sources added the army unit operation ended up with destroying a rocket launch-pad and a site for so called “Jaish al-Islam” and the killing of many terrorists, including Bassel Abu Shanab, Mohamed al-Domani and Hayl al-Hussein.
Meanwhile, another army unit killed 6 terrorists, injured 13 others and destroyed their ammunition and weapons in Zamlka town.
Terrorists Abd al-Rahman al-Bunni, Samir al-Idlbi, Fawaz al-Ajal, Abad al-Rahman al-Afandi and Hussein al-Smadi were killed during army’s operations in Saqba town.
Army units also continued their operations against terrorist organizations in the southern part of Eastren Ghouta, killing many terrorists including Mwafak al-Laban, leader of a terrorist group, Moheedin al-Sawan, Mohamed Dabour and Jihad Daas on the road which connects between Jisrin village and al-Nashabia town to the north of Marj al-Sultan.
A military source told SANA that army units targeted gatherings of ISIS terrorists in Tal Istabl, Nejarah and Rasem al-Kabir in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, destroying their mechanism and gatherings with all weapons and ammunition on their board.
Army units, in cooperation with the backing units, targeted the terrorist organizations in Rasel al-Sahrij and Abad in the southwestern countryside of the province, inflicting heavy losses upon them in personnel and equipment.
The army operations against the terrorist organizations in Khan al-Assal left a number of terrorists dead and injured and inflicted heavy losses upon them in personnel and equipment.
The army units destroyed the terrorist organizations’ machineguns-equipped vehicles in al-Atareb, 30 km south of Aleppo city.
An army unit destroyed Jabhat al-Nusra weapons and equipment after targeting their hideouts in al-Ameriyeh village.
In Aleppo city, the army units destroyed Jabhat al-Nusra-linked terrorist organizations’ hotbeds in the neighborhoods of al-Sheikh Lutfi, Hanano, Karm al-Tahhan and al-Jazmati.
In the same context, the army’s air force carried out sorties targeting ISIS fortified positions and gatherings of terrorists in Shweilikh and Sharbaa villages in the eastern countryside of Aleppo province.
Airstrikes also hit ISIS sites in Eisheha village in al-Bab area.
The source told SANA that numbers of terrorists were killed in those areas.
The army targeted positions for ISIS terrorists in Jabal al-Hayal and in the surrounding of al-Bayarat area, 10 km west of Palmyra city, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists in personnel and vehicles.
The army’s air force conducted several sorties launching strikes on movements of ISIS terrorists and their supply routes in al-Sukhneh, located on Homs-Deir Ezzor highway to the east of Tadmur (Palmyra).
The airstrikes destroyed a number of ISIS centers and vehicles, some equipped with machine guns.
Other ISIS positions were targeted in army airstrikes to the southeast of Homs city and specifically in al-Qaryatain city and Mhein town. Numbers of terrorists were killed as a result.
In the northern countryside of Homs, the air force targeted fortified sites and hideouts for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in Teirmaala village and Talbiseh town, and in Izz-Eddin town near the southern border of Hama.
The army’s air force also targeted centers and positions for ISIS terrorists in Qteisheh village in the countryside of Salamiyeh in Hama province.
The military source confirmed that a number of vehicles at the sites were destroyed in the airstrikes.
Intensive army airstrikes were launched on hideouts for terrorists from Jaish al-Fatah in al-Latamneh and Lahaya villages, 35 km north of Hama city, leaving a number of the terrorists dead and their vehicles destroyed.
Head of “House of Justice Court in Horan and Quneitra” killed in Daraa
In southern Syria, an army unit targeted gatherings of terrorists to the east of the Nursing School in Daraa al-Mahatta area in Daraa city, killing a number of them, injuring others and destroying their ammo and weapons.
More terrorists’ positions were also targeted in other areas in Daraa al-Mahatta.
Meanwhile, terrorist organizations acknowledged on Tuesday the killing of the terrorist Osama al-Yatim, who was the head of the so-called “House of Justice Court in Horan and Quneitra,” a group which includes members of terrorist organizations such as “al-Mouthna Islamic Movement” and Jabhat al-Nusra.
Terrorist organizations said on their social media pages that al-Yatim was killed in Daraa countryside along with four of his companions in the explosion of a roadside bomb, which was planted by unknown parties on the road between Daraa and Sieda town.
The army kills more than 100 terrorists in Hama, establishes control on Marj al-Sultan

The military operations against the terrorist organizations are continuing, with the army’s units intensifying their operations against terrorist targets, destroying equipment and leaving many terrorists dead.
The army, in cooperation with popular defense groups, established full control on Marj al-Sultan village, the Airport and the near farms, as well as the southern farms of al-Blaliya in Eastern al-Ghouta.
Earlier, army units advanced in the western and northeast parts of Marj al-Sultan village and established control over a number of buildings and tightened its grip on almost the entire village in Damascus Countryside, source on the ground told SANA.
The sources said that the army launched concentrated strikes against the fortified positions of “Jabhat al-Nusra”,” Ajnad al-Sham Islamic Union” and “Jaish al-Islam”, destroying a bulldozer and a machinegun-equipped vehicle and killing 7 terrorists including Abdul-Hadi al-Bokai, Fadi Najom, Ibrahim al-Mjol, Khaled Khatab and Alaa Ibrahim al-Shakifi.
The sources confirmed that due to the army’s operation,s the supply-routes of terrorists between Marj al-Sultan and Harasta al-Qantra are now under army’s control.
The Army destroyed terrorists’ dens with all weapons and ammunitions inside them in Zabdin village and a car in the farms of Deir al-Assafir.
The Army’s artillery destroyed terrorists’ vehicle and killed 13 terrorists in Erbin, Zamlka, Hamoria and Kafr Batna, including Bilal Orabi, Hassan al-Tir and Abad al-Rahman al-Dahla.
In Douma area, army units targeted terrorists’ gatherings in Jisr al-Ab and the farms of Alyia and Hijaria.
A rocket launcher, mortar launcher and a site of Jaish al-Islam were destroyed and 7 terrorists were killed including Faris al-Airot, Taisir al-Sheikh Bakri, Maher al-Hot and Taisir al-Saour.
Hama & Idleb
Army and Armed Forces units thwarted a terrorist attack launched by members of “Jaish al-Fateh” (Conquest Army) terrorist organization on a number of military posts in the northern countryside of Hama central province on Sunday night.
A military source told SANA that during the last 24 hours, army units engaged in heavy clashes with armed terrorist groups which tried to infiltrate military posts in the villages and towns of al- Bwaida, al-Masasineh, Zilin, al-Mahroukah, Zour and al-Zalaqiyat in Hama.
The source added that the army killed more than 100 terrorists and destroyed 2 armored vehicles and other machinegun-equipped vehicles.
Sources on the ground told SANA’s reporter that 13 vehicles, 3 B9 cannons, 20 makeshift “hell cannons,” and 23 mortar launchers were destroyed during the clashes.
The sources added that terrorists Mohamed Khaled Abad al-Razik al-Rahmon, Anas al-Azrak, Mohamed Na’anan, Wael Mari, Ahmad Abdallah al-Mustafa, Abad al-Kafi al-Ahmad, Abad al-Hamid al-Aswad, Abad al-Razak Abad al-Ghafour, Hussam al-Safan, and Ibrahim al-Nawaf were killed in the clashes.
Meanwhile, terrorist organizations acknowledged on their social media websites the failure of its attack and that they suffered heavy losses in equipment and personnel, who included Mustafa Adel al-Melhem of “Jaish al-Izza” terrorist group, Khaled Shahwan, Ibrahim Salah Hasoud, Mahmoud Mukhtar al-Rajo, and Zafer al-Bakkour.
Later on Monday, the Syrian Air Force carried out airstrikes against the positions and gatherings of Jabhat al-Nusra in the villages and towns of al-Latamina, al-Zakat, Lahaia, and Maarkaba in the northern countryside of Hama, inflicting severe losses upon their ranks in personnel and destroying their machinegun-equipped vehicles.
Meanwhile in Idleb countryside, the Air Force’s airstrikes destroyed terrorists’ fortified positions and vehicles in Saraqib town to the southeast of Idleb city.
Army and Armed Forces units, assisted by the Syrian Air Force, destroyed gatherings and vehicles for terrorist organizations in Aleppo and their supply routes connecting them to Turkey.
A military source said in a statement to SANA that army units carried out precision operations against hotbeds and movements of Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist organizations in al-Sakhour and Suleiman al-Halabi neighborhoods in Aleppo city, destroying a convoy of vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns.
In a special operation, another army unit eliminated all members of a terrorist group and destroyed two vehicles along with all terrorists on board in al-Layramoun area in the northern part of the city.
Another unit destroyed bases and supply routes of terrorist organizations during concentrated operations in Ain al-Beida village 123 kilometers to the northeast of Aleppo.
In the southern countryside of the province, army units inflicted heavy losses in arms, munitions, and machinegun-equipped vehicles used by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and other groups affiliated to it in Qrasi and Tal Bajar villages, according to the military source.
Bases, fortified sites, and vehicles for ISIS terrorists were also destroyed during intensive strikes by the army in Shweilekh, Jrouf, Ain al-Hanash, and north al-Hamra village near Maskanah, and al-Bab city in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Air force carried out morning sorties against bases and fortified sites of ISIS terrorists in Jub Ghabsheh, Njarah, Rasm al-Kabeer villages and al-Bab city, destroying them along with all terrorists, arms, and vehicles inside.
An army unit carried out a concentrated operation targeting a convoy of machinegun-equipped vehicles which was moving between the Waqom and Dama villages in the northwest countryside of Sweida.
A number of vehicles along with all terrorists and weaponry were destroyed during the operation.
Meanwhile in Daraa, an army unit destroyed a terrorists’ gathering in Aba Zaid neighborhood in addition to destroying mortar launcher, makeshift “hell cannon” and terrorists’ vehicles in the southern side of al-Manshia neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad area.
The Army Air force carried out sorties against gatherings and fortifications of ISIS terrorists in the eastern countryside of Homs.
A military source said in a statement to SANA that the strikes destroyed vehicles for terrorists to the east of Palmyra which were coming from al-Raqqa to commit crimes and massacres against residential gatherings in al-Badiya (desert).
ISIS terrorists suffered heavy losses to the east of al-Bayda al-Sharqiya village and al-Hadath area 80 kilometers to the south east of Homs.
Woman killed, 4 others injured in mortar attacks in Daraa & Damascus Countryside

One woman was killed and 3 other civilians were injured in a mortar attack launched by terrorists on al-Mattar neighborhood in Daraa city.
A source at Daraa province told SANA’s reporter that terrorists fired number of mortar shells at the residential neighborhood of al-Mattar, claiming the life of a woman and causing injuries to a boy and two other women, in addition to causing material damage to citizens’ properties.
Meanwhile, a source at Damascus Countryside Police Command told SANA’s reporter that terrorists positioned in Daraya city targeted the residential March 8th Suburb in al-Kisweh area with a mortar shell which landed on one of the houses, injuring a 15-year-old girl and causing material damage to the house.
SARC denounces terrorists’ use of one of its ambulances plate in Homs terrorist attacks

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) denounced on Monday terrorists’ use of one of its ambulance plates to carry out a terrorist car bomb attack in al-Zahraa neighborhood in Homs city , asserting that such practice aims to abuse the humanitarian work of the organization in Syria.
The organization stressed, in statement, irresponsibility for using plates of the SARC’s ambulances at Palmyra branch, pointing out that it hasn’t any information about the car since it was lost when ISIS terrorist organization stormed Palmyra Last May.
The plate of the ambulance was used at another vehicle which blew up in al-Zahraa neighborhood and it doesn’t belong to the organization, SARC added.
The bombing was carried out with a car packed with 150 kg of explosives that had been parked by the terrorists in a street near a charity association and al-Ahli Hospital, claiming the lives of 16 people and wounding 54 others.
