Russian Fighter Jets Bomb ISIL Military Sites in Raqqa

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian Air Force on Sunday carried out several sorties over the ISIL military camps across Raqqa province and hit them with many bombs and missiles, destroying the militants’ infrastructures.

A number of buildings, including a fire-extinguish facilities, in the ISIL terrorists’ sites came under massive attacks of the Russian warplanes.

Scores of the terrorists were also killed in the Russian airstrikes.

Sources said on Friday that the Syrian Army alongside Hezbollah fighters continued to hunt down ISIL militants in regions close to the strategic Aleppo-Raqqa highway.

On Thursday, a defected commander of ISIL disclosed that deep differences have risen among the Takfiri terrorist group’s leaders in the city of Raqqa.

“The gap has widened among senior ISIL leaders in Raqqa and from time to time clashes erupt in the city,” Abu Al-Walid al-Tunisi who has recently defected from the ISIL terrorist group said.

He reiterated that deep differences have erupted between governor of Raqqa Abu Luqman and the governor in charge of ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baqdadi’s affairs in Syria.

Al-Tunisi said the reason for his defection from the terrorist group was inhumane behavior and concern over political confrontations among ISIL leaders.

ISIL Sends Long Military Convoy towards Battlefields with US Chopper’s Back Up

TEHRAN (FNA)- A video displayed by an Arab news website showed that a long convoy of the ISIL terrorists’ military vehicles was going on a Highway towards the battlefield with the aerial back up of a US Army Apache helicopter.

The UAE-based al-Sa’a displayed a video clip of over 200 Toyota vans carrying the flag and members of the ISIL terrorist group driving on one of the main highways of Syria while an Apache chopper of US military was accompanying them in a friendly manner.

The Arab media outlet reported that the ISIL convoy did not open fire at the US chopper, which was flying in a very low altitude.

Early in October, former CIA counter terrorism officer and Senate Foreign Relations Committee senior investigator John Kiriakou said the US congress armed the ISIL terrorists by providing weapons to the “moderate” opposition.

The FSA is an armed Syrian opposition faction, considered “moderate” by the western countries, fighting the Syrian army loyal to President Bashar Assad since the beginning of the war in 2011. In 2014, the US Congress allocated $500 million to create FSA force of more than 5,000 men by the end of 2015.

“They (the FSA) didn’t help at all: supporting them only made matters worse. Most of the US arms that were sent to them only found their way into the hands of the Islamic State (of Iraq and the Levant). Congress paid for the arming (of) the Islamic State (of Iraq and the Levant),” Kiriakou said.

According to him, ISIL forces in Syria had been able to capture and use modern US equipment from the FSA just as their counterparts in Iraq enjoyed the use of huge quantities of US equipment they had captured from fleeing US-trained Iraqi forces.

The US idea of “a liberal, democratic freedom-loving, peace-loving opposition”, an alternative to Syrian President Assad, was just nonsense, Kiriakou said. The US should have stayed out instead of making the situation worse, he added.

Editor’s Note: The report and its video has been released by the UAE-based al-Sa’a on November 12 and it has NOT been debunked, and we are told has location tags showing Syria. The story was also covered by the Russian media. Several independent media have confirmed that the trucks are ISIL and the helicopter is an American apache. Yet, FNA is not able to confirm or reject the report.

20-Vehicle Convoy of ISIL Targeted by Army Northwest of Syria’s Aleppo

TEHRAN (FNA)- A long convoy of ISIL’s vehicles with at least 20 military vans was traced and targeted by the Syrian Army on a local road in the Northwestern countryside of Aleppo on Sunday.

The ISIL convoy, loaded with weapons and ammunition, came under the army attack on the axis of Reytan towards Bashkoy, where most of the militants’ vehicles were completely destroyed and their guard were killed or wounded too.

Earlier today, The Syrian Army and popular forces restored security to a key village and its surroundings in the Western countryside of Aleppo after heavy clashes with al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front and killing scores of them.

The Nusra positions near al-Mansoura village came under massive offensive of the pro-government forces, who not only broke through the defense lines of the Nusra militants, but also entered the village and took it back from the terrorist group.

Al-Mansoura village and its nearby areas are now under full control of the Syrian army.

The Nusra militants’ military vehicles and equipment were seriously destroyed in the army attack.

Meantime, the Syrian Armed Forces alongside Hezbollah fighters continued their joint attacks on terrorists’ defense lines in at least four regions in Aleppo’s countryside on Sunday, killing or wounding scores of them.

The Syrian army troops and resistance forces of Hezbollah targeted the positions of the ISIL terrorists near al-Bab city, Maskaneh, al-Afesh and Akouleh across the Eastern and Northeastern countryside of Aleppo city.

The ISIL militants have been pinned down as a resulted of the pro-government forces’ offensives in which the terrorist group has suffered heavy death toll.

Over 35 Militants Killed in Army, Hezbollah Operation near Syria’s Sheikh Meskeen

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army, National Defense Forces (NDF) and Hezbollah fighters stormed militants’ strongholds in the Northern part of Dara’a, and killed at least 37 terrorists, an army source said on Sunday.

The source told FNA that the pro-government forces carried out successfully the first phase of their large-scale operation in Southern Syria, and seized full control over the Northern part of Sheikh Meskeen.

At least 37 terrorists were killed and many more wounded in the clashes, he added.

The source further added that the Syrian army and its allies are now readying to carry out a new phase of their large-scale operation along Dara’a-Damascus highway.

The pro-government forces also advanced towards al-Qasr al-Ahmar and Sheikh Meskeen’s prison.

Fierce clashes between the Syrian forces and the militant groups have been underway in Sheikh Meskeen since this morning and military strategists believe that time is ripe for the massive mop-up operation by the government forces to cleanse this important town from militants. The Syrian Army and the NDF started advancing on militant positions in the Northern countryside of Dara’a this morning in a move to take control of Sheikh Meskeen town.

The government forces have also made another push to capture the strategic town through a second front, which ended in their full control over the Northern farms of Sheikh Meskeen and remaining parts of the Water Resources Facility.

Syrian Forces Complete Control over Second Military Airbase Since Last Tuesday

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army and popular forces completely pushed back the militant groups from Marj al-Sultan Airbase and its surroundings in the Eastern countryside of Damascus on Sunday, scoring their second groundbreaking victory after lifting the ISIL siege of Kuweires airbase a few days earlier.

Army sources said that Marj al-Sultan is under full control of the Syrian army, and there is no even one militant in the airbase area.

On Saturday, the government forces pushed back the militant groups from the remaining parts of the Helicopter Field in Marj al-Sultan Airbase and seized full control over the strategic field.

With the capture the helicopter airfield at Airbase, the Syrian army and it allies are now in prime position to assault Marj Al-Sultan village that is situated to the North of the base.

Also on Friday, the Syrian Army and popular forces continued to push back the militant groups from the Northern part of Marj al-Sultan airbase in Damascus countryside and seized back part of the helicopter airfield from the terrorists.

The Syrian army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard, the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Damascus city and the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA), broke-through Jeish al-Islam’s (Army of Islam) defense lines at the Marj Al-Sultan army terrain and reached the strategic helicopter airfield that is situated just South of the Marj Al-Sultan village in Damascus countryside.

The Republican Guard and their allies reportedly fractured Jeish Al-Islam’s defenses after 16 straight hours of intense firefights that resulted in several casualties and the destruction of heavy equipment for both sides involved in this violent battle.

According to a military source inside the Syrian capital, the Syrian Armed Forces suffered 18 soldiers killed-in-action (KIA) and another 31 wounded-in-action (WIA) while trying to penetrate Jeish Al-Islam’s defenses; however, despite the death toll, the Republican Guard and their allies were able to fight through this rough terrain and reach the wide-open helicopter airfield.

The Marj Al-Sultan region of the East Ghouta has been under the control of the militants since 2012; it was one of the first sites captured by them.

On Thursday, Syrian army forces entered Marj al-Sultan military airbase in Eastern Ghouta, the second airport taken back by the pro-government troops in the last several days, following Kuweires airbase in the Eastern countryside of the Northern city of Aleppo.

According to a military source, the Syrian Armed Forces launched large-scale attack on Jeish al-Islam’s defenses on the army base located at the Western sector of Deir Salman and took full control over this military installation at the Southern perimeter of the Marj al-Sultan Airbase.

Following the capture of the army base, the Syrian soldiers and their allies pushed towards the army terrain that is situated to the South of the helicopter fields, capturing half of the area.

Syrian forces were to make a push towards the helicopter fields on Thursday.

The Syrian army launched operations on Wednesday to win back control over Marj al-Sultan airbase after its groundbreaking victory in the battle against ISIL in Aleppo that ended up with the removal of a 2.5-year-long siege of the Kuweires airbase on Tuesday.

The military operations started on Tuesday when the Syrian army advanced against the Takfiri terrorists in Eastern Ghouta and retook strategic areas from the foreign-backed militants.
