In the course of the last three days, aircraft of the Russian air group in the Syrian Arab Republic have performed 137 combat sorties engaging 448 terrorist objects

In the course of the last three days, aircraft of the Russian air group in the Syrian Arab Republic have performed 137 combat sorties engaging 448 terrorist objects in the Aleppo, Damascus, Idlib, Lattakia, Raqqah, Hama and Homs provinces.

In the course of the recent days, the intensiveness of the combat sorties of the Russian air group in Syria remains below the usual level. However, the number of engaged targets per one sortie has increased.

That is connected with the fact that a number of aircraft of the air group have been uncovering and conducting reconnaissance of terrorist objects upon the data received from representatives of the Syrian opposition, the Information centre in Baghdad and the Command of the Syrian governmental troops.

It is to be reminded that the Russian warplanes carry out airstrikes only after the data on the engaged objects has been checked through several channels and they have been identified as belonging to the terrorist groupings.

The Russian Ministry of Defence confirms significant changes in the tactics of the terrorists all over the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Illegal armed groups are acting not as impudently as they did a month ago. Today terrorists are trying to conduct maneuverable defensive hiding from the strikes of the Syrian governmental troops and the Russian aviation.

The routes of delivery of armament are constantly changing. The deliveries are carried out mainly at night with observation of all elements of camouflaging.

Near Kafer Nbuda (Hama province), a strike was made against a workshop used for repairing of armoured vehicles of the Jabhat al-Nusra. The airstrike of a Su-24M bomber eliminated a hangar with 4 tanks and 1 infantry fighting vehicle.

Near the Jebel Dau mountain (Lattakia province), the Russian aviation made a strike on a mortar position of the Jabhat al-Nusra militants. Direct hits destroyed 4 mortars and a field ammunition depot.

Near Kweires al-Sharqi (Aleppo province), a field camp of the Jabhat al-Nusra illegal armed group was eliminated. Direct hits destroyed the infrastructure of the camp rendering out of operation four automobile vehicles equipped with large-caliber machine guns.

In the suburbs of al-Zerba (Idlib province), a large command center of Jabhat al-Nusra illegal armed group was destroyed. The object had been arranged in the course of the last three weeks as well as well-camouflaged. The command center coordinated terrorists’ actions at the Idlib-Aleppo direction. After additional reconnaissance of the object by means of unmanned aerial vehicles, a Su-34 aircraft made a strike with a guided bomb KAB-500. As a result, the object was  destroyed with all its contents.

In suburbs of Raqqah city, a Su-34 bomber destroyed two ISIS ammunition storages. Objective monitoring registered explosions at the objects, which caused their complete destruction.

Near Mahin (Homs province), the aviation carried out a strike against a large-sized weapon and ammunition depot of the Jabhat al-Nusra grouping. Militants stored small arms, large-caliber machine guns, grenade launchers, and ammunition in two hangars. These weapons were reserved for militants arrived in Syria from abroad. It is to be mentioned that the information on this object was obtained from representatives of the Syrian opposition. Objective monitoring data confirmed complete destruction of the depots and their contents after the hit of the Russian aviation.

Near Jebel-Mgar mountain (Damascus province), an ammunition depot with improvised unguided rockets of the ISIS illegal armed group was destroyed. This object regularly provided militants with ammunition used for constant bombardment of residential areas of Damascus.

MFA..Alegations regarding army’s arbitrary use of weapons are baseless
9 November، 2015
Damascus, SANA

Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said that, in the framework of the political consultations between Syria and Russian Federation, the issue of arbitrary use of weapons was raised and the Syrian side clarified that all the allegations and lies, promoted by hostile mediums conspiring on Syria, regarding Syrian Army and Armed Forces’ use of weapons arbitrarily within the efforts exerted to combat terrorism, are baseless.

The Ministry said, in a statement Monday, that the Syrian side stressed that the Syrian Arab Army will never ever use weapons arbitrarily within its continued efforts to combat terrorism and restore stability and security to Syria.

It added that the Syrian side stressed the importance that the countries supporting terrorism adhere to the implementation of UN Security Council terrorism-combating related resolutions and hint to their terrorist tools in Syria to abstain from the arbitrary use of weapons against the Syrian citizens.

Foreign Ministry: Bombing Syrian infrastructure by the so called “International Coalition” evil aggression

The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry affirmed that bombing infrastructure in Syria by warplanes of the so called “International Coalition” which is led by the US is an evil aggression, reaffirming that launching airstrikes by US and its allies inside Syria is illegal.

In two identical letters sent to the UN Secretary General and the head of the UN Security Council, the ministry said that under the pretense of chasing the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the Coalition warplanes hit on Saturday 10th of October 2015 al-Radwania area which is located to the east of Aleppo city, targeting two thermal power stations.

The raids caused massive material damage in the two stations where losses are estimated at over1 billion Euros. The stations, the letters added, came out of service and a power outage took place in the area.

The ministry pointed out that the Coalition’s warplanes had also targeted the Directorate of al-Jabsa oil fields in the province of Hasaka on 12th of September 2015, al-Tabia oil well in Deir Ezzor on 25th of September 2015 and re-attacked the two wells on 5th of October 2015 and raided Sijan oil well No.146 on 13th of October 2015 and bombed the sites of al-Furat Company in al-Omar Field on 31st of October 2015. The field became dysfunctional and stopped supplying Deir Ezzor plant with electric power. The strikes also targeted the brick factory in Raqqa province which led to destruction of entire buildings.

The ministry concluded its letters by reaffirming that the coalition’s airstrikes inside Syria are illegal as they are done without the permission of or coordination with Syrian government, calling for ceasing these acts which are targeting the Syria’s infrastructure.

Aleppo in the Last 24 Hours

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army completed control over Sheikh Ahmad town in Aleppo countryside on Monday winning a decisive battle in a chain of operations to lift a 2.5-year siege on Kuweires Airbase.

A military source said the army, backed by popular forces, eventually managed to purge all parts of the town that is located in the Eastern countryside of Aleppo from the Takfiri militants.

There are no immediate reports about the exact numbers of the terrorists’ casualties.

The Syrian Army, National Defense Forces (NDF) and Hezbollah fighters could win a major part of Sheikh Ahmad after several days of fierce battles and came closer to the strategic Kuweires Airbase.

The Syrian army troops, the NDF fighters and the Lebanese Hezbollah forces, backed up by the Russian fighter jets, on Saturday tightened noose around the ISIL terrorists near Sheikh Ahmad and its surrounding areas to lift over a two-year-long siege of the strategic Kuweires airbase.

The Saturday reports said that the government forces were very close to seize full control over Sheikh Ahmad after killing tens of Takfiri terrorists, but yet said that the army had prevailed no more than 90 percent of the town.

Reports on Monday evening said the army has completed its control over the town and is preparing to take the final step towards Kuweires airbase.

Last week, the Syrian army, popular forces and Hezbollah backed up by Russian warplanes started massive operations and came almost half a mile closer to the Kuweires airport in a region where advance in every inch has taken days.

The pro-government forces marched on ISIL positions in the region and advanced to the rural district of Sheikh Ahmad after taking full control of the railway crossing.

The Syrian army and Hezbollah deployed their forces in a region only 2 kilometers away from the airbase.

At the time, the government forces were preparing to mop up the rest of Sheikh Ahmad to prepare for a massive offensive on ISIL positions along the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway. Some 80 percent of Sheikh Ahmad – that is seen as a milestone in the Damascus war on terrorist groups in the Northern province of Aleppo – was under the control of the pro-government forces last week.

Army sources said the Russian strikers have played a very crucial role in the operation.

Last week, commanders of the Syrian army, popular forces, Hezbollah and Russian Air Force held a meeting in Sheikh Ahmad frontline to coordinate the last phase of their joint operation for removing the two-year-long ISIL siege on Kuweires airbase, Southeast of Aleppo.

Military sources said at the time that the pro-government forces were deployed in most parts of Sheikh Ahmad, just 2,600 meters far farm the Southern gates of the strategic Kuweires airbase.

The joint operations of the Syrian army troops, Hezbollah fighters and NDF that have been underway with the Russian air backup for the last two months have forced the militant groups, specially the ISIL, to withdraw from the Southern parts of Sheikh Ahmad town near the Kuweires airbase.

Sources said that the militant groups have suffered heavy casualties in the latest stage of the pro-government troops’ joint operations.

Now the pro-government forces are deployed in a distance about just a mile from the strategic airbase.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists have besieged the Kuweires airbase for over 2.5 years now, but the base itself is under the Syrian army’s control.

Hundreds of Syrian forces are under a tight siege at the airbase as a result of the occupation of vast areas surrounding the airport by the terrorists.

The Syrian army’s helicopters supply foodstuff and other needs to the Syrian troops defending the airport.

Syrian Forces Start Mop-Up Operations in Eastern, Southern Hasaka

Meantime, Syrian forces comprising Kurdish, Assyrian Christian and Izadi fighters managed to advance in the Eastern countryside of Hasaka province and they are preparing for conducting mop-up operations in the strategic village of al-Houl.

After purging terrorists from al-Houl village, the ISIL’s supply line to al-Shadadi region will be fully cut off.

On Sunday, informed military sources announced that the Syrian army and the popular forces are preparing for large-scale and groundbreaking military operations in the Hasaka province.

“The Syrian army’s military operations is aimed at taking control of the remaining ISIL-held regions to thwart the danger posed by the ISIL from the neighboring Raqqa province and also to spread their military operations to Raqqa,” an informed source said.

On Thursday, the Syrian army foiled a car bomb attack in the Eastern countryside of Hasaka.

The Syrian forces safely detonated an ISIL car bomb on Hasaka-al-Houl road in the Eastern countryside of Hasaka.

Last week, Kurdish People’s Protection Units advanced against the Takfiri militants in Hasaka province, reports said.

The Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television said the Kurdish forces advanced in the vicinity of al-Houl town towards the village of al-Bahra in al-Hasaka countryside.
