The first time ever the Syrian military political command allows multiple media stations inside a Syrian Arab Air Force base. However, did not let them see much.
In its very first official appearance, a Syrian Arab Air Force MiG-23MLD armed for air-to-air combat.
Syria got its first batch of MLDs in 2000, and other batches that were not disclosed, the MLD is an improved second generation variant of the MiG-23, the focus was on the maneuverability and angle of attack, among other improved avionics, and sensors. It hasn’t participated in actions with the SyAAF yet.
SyAAF MiG-23MLD fighters alongside other first response fighters have been conducting escort missions to protect the attack bombers in multiple borderline areas after the Turks shot down a SyAAF MiG-23BN. The type of the aircraft is chosen based on the mission.

Five civilians killed, 17 injured in terrorist attacks in several provinces

Terrorists on Sunday continued targeting civilians with rocket shell, detonations of bicycles and other means, leaving scores of them killed and injured.
Four civilians killed in rocket shell
Four civilians got killed and three others were injured in a terrorist attack with a rocket shell that landed on a residential building in al-Neel street in Aleppo city.
A source in Aleppo Governorate told SANA that terrorists spread in Bani Zeid neighborhood fired the rocket, leaving four civilians including a child dead, clarifying that the victims belong to one family.
The source added that three other citizens were injured and they were admitted to al- Razi and university Hospitals.
On Saturday, four citizens got injured when terrorists targeted al-Ashrafiyeh neighborhood with rocket shells in Aleppo city.
14 civilians injured in three terrorist attacks
In the central province of Homs, 14 civilians were injured when three explosive devices planted by terrorists went off in many neighborhoods in Homs province.
A source at Homs Governorate told SANA that terrorist blew up an explosive device planted on a bicycle in al-Ushak Street in Ekrema neighborhood, while the other two devices were detonated in the streets of Bait al-Taweel and al-Khudari in Homs city.
The three terrorist attacks, according to the source, injured 14 civilians, including a child, in addition to material damage in the private and public properties.
Civilian killed, 3 others injured in terrorist attack
Four civilians were injured in a terrorist attack by a mortar shell on al-Adawi area in Damascus on Sunday.
A source at Damascus Police command told SANA reporter that terrorists positioned in Jobar neighborhood fired a mortar shell that fell near Dar al-Shifaa hospital in al-Adawi area, leaving four civilians injured, including a child.
One of the civilians, sveverly injured, was transferred to Ibn al-Nafis hospital for immdeiate medical treatment, the source added.
On Saturday, Terrorists from “Jaish al-Islam” terrorist organization targeted residential neighborhoods in Damascus and Harasta suburb in Damascus countryside with mortar shells, claiming the life of one civilian and injuring 11.
Terrorists prevent students from getting out of Yarmouk Camp

The Takfiri terrorist organizations positioning in the terrorists- besieged Yarmouk Camp neighborhood in Damascus prevented the evacuation of students from the camp to continue their educational attainment at the Syrian universities.
General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) said in a statement on Sunday that the GAPAR, supported by the competent authorities and higher national relief committee, headed to al-Tadamoun area to evacuate 18 students from the camp to continue registering at the university for the academic year of 2015-2106, but the terrorist organizations prevented them from getting out of the camp .
The GAPAR added that the aim of terrorist organizations’ prevention is to continue destroying the camp, displacing its inhabitants and undermining all potentials of life of the Palestinian people.
The GAPAR hailed the Syrian state’s role in supporting Palestinian people to ease their suffering caused by the Takfiri terrorist organizations.
At the beginning of April 2014, residents of the terrorist-besieged Yarmouk Camp in southern Damascus were forced to flee their homes after hundreds of terrorists from ISIS entered the area with the help of Turkish-Qatari-Saudi-backed Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization to undermine the Syrian Government’s efforts in neutralizing the Palestinians from the events taking place in Syria.
Al-Nusra Front Recruits 2000 Foreign Militants to Fight Army in Aleppo
TEHRAN (FNA)- Informed military sources disclosed that the terrorist groups, specially the Al-Nusra Front, have recruited hundreds of foreign militants after sustaining major defeats in the battle against the Syrian army and Hezbollah forces in Aleppo province in the last few weeks.
“The terrorist groups, Al-Nusra Front in particular, are getting ready to confront the army in Aleppo province and they have recruited 2,000 foreign terrorists for the same purpose,” an informed military source said on Sunday.
The Syrian army and popular forces have inflicted heavy losses on the Al-Nusra Front in their recent military operations.
The Syrian army and Hezbollah seized back the three towns of Zarawi, Tal Mamu and Azizieh Samaan from the Takfiri militants in Aleppo province on Sunday.
Tens of the terrorists were killed in the joint operation of the Syrian soldiers and Hezbollah forces in Tal Mamu and al-Azizieh this morning.
On Sunday, the Syrian Army alongside popular forces advanced in the key battlefield of Air Force Academy (South of Kuweires Airbase) and inflicted heavy death toll on the terrorists.
Military sources said that the Air Force Academy and its nearby regions were the scenes of heavy clashes between the Takfiri terrorists and the government forces, which left dozens of the militants dead or wounded.
The ISIL military grid also suffered significant damage in this morning battle.
On Saturday, the Syrian Army, National Defense Forces (NDF) and Hezbollah fighters could eventually earn victory after several days of fierce battle in Sheikh Ahmad East of Aleppo and came still closer to the strategic Kuweires Airbase.
The Syrian army troops, the NDF fighters and the Lebanese Hezbollah forces, backed up by the Russian fighter jets, on Saturday tightened noose around the ISIL terrorists near Sheikh Ahmad and its surrounding areas to lift over a two-year-long siege of the strategic Kuweires airbase.
The latest reports from the battlefield said that the government forces are very close to seize back full control over Sheikh Ahmad after killing tens of Takfiri terrorists.
Also on Saturday, the Syrian Army, popular forces and Hezbollah fighters pushed back the militant groups from Kafr Haddad in Aleppo province and retook full control over the village and its surroundings.
The sources said that the Syrian Army’s 4th Mechanized Division, Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo city, Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalion) and several Iraqi paramilitaries imposed full control over the important village of Kafr Haddad after a series of intense firefights with the militants of Harakat Ahrar al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, al-Nusra Front, and Liwaa Suqour al-Sham.
With the capture of Kafr Haddad, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance are within 25km of the important stronghold of Saraqib in the Idlib province and 30km East of the predominately Shiite towns of Fou’aa and Kafraya.
Army sources announced on Friday that the Syrian Army troops, backed up by the Russian airstrikes, have taken control of approximately 250 square kilometers of land in Aleppo.
“The Syrian army’s operation continues in the Southern and Eastern parts of province of Aleppo,” Brigadier General Ali Mayhoub said.
“In cooperation with civil defense groups we control more than 250 square kilometers, and returned stability to dozens of villages and towns in the region.”
“The army in collaboration with the civil defense forces managed to open the way to Aleppo…to ensure the safe passage of this important route,” Mayhoub added.
The general also said that terrorists sustained a large number of casualties and loss of equipment.
On Thursday, the Syrian army, backed up by massive air support, continued to tighten noose on the Takfiri militants in Aleppo, inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists.
The army destroyed ISIL positions, weapons and ammunition and vehicles in an area in the vicinity of the Air Force Academy.
The army troops also killed and injured a group of terrorists from the al-Nusra Front and other affiliated groups in the villages of Berneh, Tal Haddiyeh, Doulamah and Khan Touman in the Southwestern countryside of Aleppo. Tens of the militants’ machinegun-equipped vehicles were also destroyed.
The army, backed up by the Syrian airstrikes, destroyed positions of Takfiri terrorists in the neighborhoods of al-Rashideen 4, al- Sheikh Khuder, Salah Eddin, al-sheikh Said and Bustan al-Qaser.
Meanwhile, the Syrian air raids destroyed terrorists’ positions in al-Ameriyeh village in the Southeastern countryside of Aleppo.
Syrian Army, Resistance Forces Preparing for Massive Operation in Hasaka
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army and the popular forces are preparing for large-scale and groundbreaking military operations in Hasaka province, informed military sources announced on Sunday.
The Syrian army’s military operations is aimed at taking control of the remaining ISIL-held regions to thwart the danger posed by the ISIL from the neighboring Raqqa province and also to spread their military operations to Raqqa, an informed source said.
The ISIL for the tenth consecutive day did not allow the residents to leave Raqqa city.
Military experts believe that the ISIL is going to use the people as human shield against the army’s advances.
The Syrian youth flee Raqqa province to Turkey to be safe from the ISIL planning to return home from Turkey through Aleppo later.
On Thursday, the Syrian army foiled a car bomb attack in the Eastern countryside of Hasaka.
The Syrian forces safely detonated an ISIL car bomb on Hasaka-al-Houl road in the Eastern countryside of Hasaka.
Earlier this week, Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) advanced against the Takfiri militants in Hasaka province, reports said.
The Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television said the Kurdish forces advanced in the vicinity of al-Houl town towards the village of al-Bahra in al-Hasaka countryside.
Army continues targeting terrorists across the country

The army continued targeting terrorist organizations’ hotbeds and gatherings across the country, leaving scores of their members dead and injured and their weapons and ammunition destroyed in different provinces.
More areas under army control
Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, established control over Tal Mamo hill and the two villages of Birawi and Azizit Samaan in the southern countryside of Aleppo province, after eliminating the last remaining gatherings of terrorists in them, a military source told SANA.
The source said the army also targeted terrorists’ concentrations and movements in the village of Khalsa and south of Qarasi village in the province’s southern countryside, in addition to destroying machinegun-equipped vehicles.
Terrorist organizations acknowledged on their social media pages the death of a number of their members, among them the so-called military leader In Jabhat al-Nusra Faisal Sharif, nicknamed Abu Omair al-Ansari.
The army units destroyed ISIS terrorists’ hideouts and fortified sites in the villages and towns of Rasm al-Abboud, al- Jaberiyeh, Hmaimiyeh and Abu Danneh in the eastern countryside of Aleppo province in addition to demolishing a number of their members with all weapons and ammunition inside hideouts.
A military source told SANA Sunday that the army inflicted heavy losses upon ISIS in personnel and equipment near the Air Force Academy east of Aleppo city.
The Syrian Air Force launched sorties against ISIS’ positions in the villages of Tal Istabl, Tal Faouri, al-Sheikh Ahmad, and in al-Bab city in Aleppo, destroying them along with the terrorists, weapons, munitions, and vehicles inside them.
In Aleppo city, army units targeted in accurate operations terrorists’ positions in al-Layramon and al-Ashrafyia neighborhoods.
Later, a military source said that army units destroyed terrorists’ fortified sites and positions in al-Dakuna village in Kwairis area in the province’s eastern countryside, in addition to carrying out special operations against terrorists’ hotbeds and hideouts in al-Sheikh Saeed, al-Sukari, al-Ansari, and al-Sakhour area, killing and injuring many terrorists in the process.
39 terrorists killed
The Syrian Air Force carried out a series of sorties which targeted terrorists’ vehicles and hideouts in Kafr Zeta, Atshan, and Tal A’as in Hama’s northern countryside, a military source told SANA.
Meanwhile, field sources told SANA’s reporter that an army unit killed more than 8 terrorists and injured 13 others from the so called “al-Jabha al-Shamiyeh” terrorist group in Maakraba village in Hama countryside and destroyed their vehicles and different launchers which they used in targeting the safe areas in Mahardeh countryside.
The terrorists’ leader “Mohammad Radwan al-Hasawi” were among the dead terrorists.
Army units carried out special operations on the terrorists’ supply routes and positions in Morek, Kafr Nabouda and Tal Skeik, killing a number of terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization including Mohammad al-Khatib, Ziad al-Khatib, Hazem al-Sheikh, Ghazi Hamzeh, Mahmoud Mohammad al-Swaileh, And Abu Abdullah al-Safi.
An army unit destroyed a vehicle loaded with arms and ammunition and killed 5 terrorists who were on board the vehicle in the vicinity of Tal Uthman, 35 km northwest of Hama city.
Three more terrorists were killed and others were injured in army operation against terrorists’ movements in the village of Qalet al-Madeeq.
Meanwhile, the terrorist organizations acknowledged on their social media pages that 16 of their members were killed in the northern countryside of Hama province.
In the neighboring province of Idleb, heavy losses were inflicted upon terrorists in personnel and equipment in army operations against their hideouts in Saraqeb city in the province,the field sources added.
Army units destroyed a headquarters for the so called “Jund al-Aqsa” terrorists in a special operation against their positions in Khan Sheikhoun , 70km south of Idleb city.
The Syrian Air Force carried out concentrated strikes on ISIS hideouts in the surroundings of Maheen and Hawarin villages in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo province, a military source told SANA.
The source said that the airstrikes resulted in destroying ISIS concentrations and vehicles along with weapons and equipment, adding that the Air Force also targeted ISIS gatherings and fortified sites east of Palmyra (Tadmur), Arak, and Khanifis in the province’s eastern countryside, which resulted in destroying a number of machinegun-equipped vehicles.
Meanwhile, Syrian Arab Army units killed a number of terrorists and injured others in Unq al-Hawa and destroyed a vehicle along with the terrorists on board in Oum Sehreej east of Homs city.
The Syrian army killed 58 ISIS terrorists and injured dozens others in Nasib Daghim, al-Zira’a and Hwejat al- Mara’iayeh in Deir Ezzor provinces and destroyed an armored vehicle, 3 machinegun-equipped vehicles and a rocket launcher pad.
An army unit clashed with terrorist groups infiltrated to the surrounding of a number of military points in the eastern side al-Manshiyeh neighborhood in Draaa city, leaving many terrorists dead and injured while the others fled, the military source added.
Another army unit targeted one of the terrorists’ hideouts in Daraa al-Balad area and destroyed it with all the arms and ammunition inside.
Meanwhile, a number of terrorists, most of them from Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization, were killed and their munition was destroyed in army units’ special operations north of Atman town on the northern entrance of Daraa city.
Army units destroyed arms and ammunition of terrorist organizations during strikes against their dens and gatherings to the west of the Old Customs in Daraa al-Balad.
Another army unit killed a number of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and destroyed their vehicles and arms to the north of Mzeireeb town in the western countryside of Daraa.
Civilian killed, 11 injured in mortar attacks on Damascus and its countryside

Terrorists from “Jaish al-Islam” terrorist organization targeted on Saturday residential neighborhoods in Damascus and Harasta suburb in Damascus Countryside with mortar shells, claiming the life of one civilian and injuring 9.
A source in police command told SANA reporter that a shell fell on al-Adawi neighborhood injuring two, one of them a woman.
Another shell fell on the General Establishment for Radio and Television, causing material damage to the building without any casualties or injuries.
In another incident in the surroundings of Kafarsouseh square, a number of cars were damaged when a mortar shell fell in the area, while two more shells fell on Mazzeh 86 neighborhood, causing material damage to locals’ properties.
A shell that fell in the surrounding of the Cross Church at al-Qassaa neighborhood caused material damage to 6 cars, and later in the evening another shell fell near Abu Jarash fields in al-Adawi area, killing one civilian and injuring two.
In Damascus Countryside, terrorists fired six shells on Harasta suburb, wounding seven people, two of them children.
The army expands established control areas, kills terrorists’ leaders

The army and armed forces, backed by popular defense groups, achieve more successes in fighting terrorists in different areas of the country by expanding established control areas, killing terrorist organizations’ leaders and destroy their weapons.
Terrorist leaders killed
An army unit killed Saturday a number of terrorists including terrorist Zouhair Hussein al-Zoubi, one of the the so called leaders of Jabhat al-Nusra affiliated “Karama brigade”, in the southern city of Daraa.
A military source told SANA that the army conducted a special operation against a gathering of terrorists in Daraa Balad neighborhood in the southern city of Daraa where a number of terrorists leaders were killed incuding al-Zoubi, while others were injured.
Meanwhile, a group of terrorists’ members were killed and injured and their weapons were destroyed in an operation targeting their gatherings in Attman town in the northern countryside of the Province.
The Syrian army air force targeted the Takfiri terrorist hideouts and movements in Khan Sheikhoun and al-Tamanaa towns in the southern countryside of Idleb Province.
The army destroyed a number of the so-called Jaish al-Fateh hideouts and vehicles in the province.
In the coastal province of Lattakia, the army and armed forces units, backed by popular defense groups, killed a big number of terrorists and destroyed their weapons during expanding military operations in the north-eastern side of the province and the hills surrounding Ghammam town.
The artillery destroyed dens and gatherings of Takfiri terrorists in Al-Karoura mountain, Arafeet, Ocober, al-Dughmoshlieh, al-Zwaik, Deir Hanna and Katef al-Ghader and Katef al-Ghanama in the north eastern countryside of Lattakia.
Terrorists suffered heavy losses in personnel and equipment while big numbers of them fled towards the Turkish borders.
Terrorists acknowledged on their social media pages the death of 36 of their members in the province.
More ISIS terrorists killed and injured and their vehicles destroyed as the Syrian army air force targeted their hideouts and fortresses in al-Sheikh Ahmad, Um Arkileh, Tal Ahmar and Rasem al-Abed in the eastern countryside of Aleppo Province.
The army air force inflicted heavy losses upon Jabhat al-Nusra-linked terrorist organizations in personnel and equipment after targeting their hideouts in the villages of al-Qasabiyeh and Skaik in Hama countryside.
Meanwhile, the terrorist organizations acknowledged on their social media websites the killing of a number of their members, among them terrorists Ahmad Yassouf, Mohammad Howaish and Ali Abu al-Farouq.
The Syrian army air force targeted the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) sites in the village of al-Sawaneh al-Sharqiyeh, southwest of Palmyra city, and east of Jeb al-Jarrah town and the village of Hawarin and at the surrounding of Mahin town in the countryside of the central Homs province.
The army destroyed a number of the ISIS machinegun-equipped vehicles and sites with all terrorists and weapons and ammunition inside them.
Meanwhile, the terrorist organizations acknowledged on their social media websites the killing of one of the ISIS self-claimed leader, nicknamed Haj Hassan Deirbalabawi in addition to terrorist Nizar Abu Shanab.
An Army unit killed more than 40 terrorists in the eastern part of al-Hyal mountain towards al-Bayarat-Tadmur in the eastern countryside of Homs.
Material damage at the entrance of Aleppo citadel after terrorists blew up a tunnel

The gate of Aleppo historical citadel which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site suffered great material damage when terrorists detonated a tunnel near the citadel which is located in the midst of Aleppo city.
A field source in Aleppo said that in the framework of the continued series of crimes that target archeological sites, terrorists blew up a tunnel which they dug earlier in the western side of the citadel, causing material damage to the entrance.
After blowing the tunnel up, the terrorists tried to infiltrate towards a military post in the area surrounding the citadel but the army members at the military post killed and injured a number of them while the others fled, leaving their arms and ammunition behind.
Terrorists blew up a tunnel in Aleppo old city last July, destroying a part of the wall which is located between two towers in the north eastern side of the citadel.
