Russian Deputy Minister of Defence Anatoly Antonov met UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Stephen O’Brien.

A frank and constructive exchange of views on the humanitarian situation in Syria and Yemen took place.

In the course of the meeting the parties discussed the importance of development of effective cooperation between Russia and the UN on the security of the UN humanitarian convoys.

Anatoly Antonov emphasized the necessity of usage of true information concerning the operation of the Russian Aerospace Forces against the militants of the “Islamic state” in the UN official documents on the humanitarian situation in Syria.

In the course of the last two days, aircraft of the Russian air group in the Syrian Arab Republic have performed 81 combat sorties engaging 263 objects

In the course of the last two days, aircraft of the Russian air group in the Syrian Arab Republic have performed 81 combat sorties engaging 263 objects located in the Aleppo, Damascus, Deir ez-Zor, Idlib, Lattakia, Raqqah, Hama and Homs provinces.

Near Maarrat al-Nu’man (Idlib province), according to the data received from the joint information center in Baghdad, a batch of antitank missile systems were delivered to one of the ammunition depots several days ago. The antitank systems were delivered for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in order to destroy armored vehicles of the Syrian governmental forces. After the data had been checked through several channels, a pair of Su-25 attack aircraft performed a strike, which resulted in destruction of the depot with all its contents.

Near Al-Nayrab airfield (Aleppo province), a Su-24M bomber destroyed workshops, which repaired the ISIS armored vehicles, located in a number of buildings.

These workshops were used to repair combat vehicles and tanks as well as off-roaders and trucks equipped with heavy armament for further transportation to the contact line of militants and the Syrian Armed Forces. The air bombs dropped from the Su-24M hit the targets and destroyed the workshops with 7 pieces of terrorists’ hardware.

Near Raqqah, Su-34 bombers carried out strikes against two fortified strong points of militants located at the approaches to the city. Direct hits of air bombs destroyed fortified installations of terrorists as well as four automobile and armored vehicles.

In ravine of Jebel Mgar mountain near Damascus, a base of an ISIS illegal armed group was attacked. Militants arranged ammunition depots, a command centre and hardware shelters for military hardware in caverns on the mountain slope. A strike of the Russian aviation caused destruction of terrorists’ infrastructure, four off-road vehicles equipped with large-caliber machine guns and two trucks.

Near Al-Muhasan (Deir ez-Zor province), a Su-34 bomber performed strike against terrorist training camp of the Jabhat al-Nusra. Terrorist training infrastructure, installations and constructions used by terrorists for keeping explosive devices were completely destroyed by direct hits of guided air bombs.

Near Tadmor (Homs province), a Su-24M eliminated a large fortified area of ISIS militants as well as a tank, an AA system ZU-23 and a mortar battery on their combat positions.

Attention should be attached to the fact, that the Russian aviation makes strikes only on the terrorist infrastructural objects, which are located at a significant distance from historical monuments. Tadmor town is the most inhabited area in the district of the desert that is why it is mentioned for indication of the region, where the Russian aviation is used against terrorist objects. The destroyed ISIS fortified area is situated more than 30 km from the ancient Palmyra.

The Russian Defence Ministry comments on the statement of the Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland during her speech at the Congress session, where she claimed that supposedly, a large part of the Russian strikes in the Syrian Arab Republic had been aimed not against terrorists, but literally “targeted in areas where the Assad regime has lost territory”.

It is to be emphasized that the Russian air group in Syria makes strikes not on regions, but on objects of terrorists’ infrastructure.

After analysis of such statements of different American officials, it seems that the locations of these objects, which are under the control of the terrorists, are the most guarded state secret information in the USA. Representatives from the Pentagon and the State department constantly speak about it, but no one of them gives specific information concerning their location.

At the same time, it should be reminded that the Russian Ministry of Defence transferred to the military attaches of the anti-ISIS coalition led by the USA the comprehensive information on high-detail maps concerning the objects and areas controlled by terrorists in Syria.

It should be noted that the information presented by the Ministry of Defence has not been refuted neither by the State Department nor by the Pentagon.

Moscow: Russian airstrikes in Syria target terrorists’ infrastructure positions, not regions
6 November، 2015
Moscow, SANA

The Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov asserted Thursday that the statements of various US officials give the impression that the location of terrorists’ positions is most guarded US state secret, because they often mention terrorist positions but they never say where these positions are actually located.

Konashenkov refuted US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland’s claimes, in a Congress session, that major part of the Russian strikes in Syria were aimed not against terrorists, reiterating that the Russian strikes in Syria are conducted “not against regions, but terrorists’ infrastructure”, Russian Sputnik News reported.

He reminded that the Russian Defense Ministry had officially handed over comprehensive information with detailed maps to the military attachés of the alliance led by the US concerning the positions and areas controlled by the terrorists in Syria, adding that those information “provided by us were not refuted by the State Department or the Pentagon”, Konashenkov added.

Lavrov: Terrorism in Middle East linked to foreign interference
6 November، 2015
Moscow, SANA

Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov said the emergence of terrorism and extremism in the Middle East and North Africa is greatly linked to the foreign interference in these regions.

In a speech during the 38th General Conference of the UNESCO on Friday, Lavrov stressed that terrorism is of Russia’s great concern as terrorists are on a blood spree against civilians and are distorting the real image of Islam.

He highlighted that all these events were the result of undermining the state institutions in a number of countries in the region due to foreign interference and irresponsible attempts to impose and implement geopolitical changes without bearing in mind the region’s traditions and historical heritage.

Lavrov warned against the migration of Christians from the region as it could threatens the balance of the religions and sects in the region.

Later on, after his meeting with UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, Lavrov told reporters that Russia hopes that after repelling terrorists from the archeological sites in Syria, the UNESCO will send expert archeologists to assess the situation there, adding that the cultural and historical heritage in Aleppo, Palmyra and other areas in Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq is a mutual heritage for all mankind.

On a relevant note, Lavrov and US State Secretary John Kerry discussed in a phone called issues related to settling the crisis in Syria and combating terrorism in the Middle East.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the call, which was initiated by the US side, discussed issues related to the international efforts for launching a political settlement in Syria through launching a negotiation process between the Syrian government and the opposition.

The two sides also discussed combating ISIS and other terrorist organizations in the region.

Syrian Air Force pilots… defending Syria and its people from terrorism

Lattakia, SANA

Air Force 1

With faith in their planes, leadership, people and with resolute determination, the Syrian Air Force pilots continue to take to the skies to protect Syria and the Syrian people from terrorists and their supporters.
SANA’s correspondent, as part of a joint media delegation, visited a Syrian Air Force base and witnessed firsthand examples of the operations and missions carried out by the pilots and their high readiness.

The correspondent interviewed a number of pilots, one of whom has been in active duty for 27 years and piloting a MiG-21, who said that he carries out between 2 to 4 combat missions against terrorist organizations per day, and asserted that terrorists flee like panicked rats when they hear the roar of the Syrian jet fighters’ engines, and they resort to media misdirection by lying and claiming that airstrikes target non-combative targets.

Another pilot, a brigadier general, said that after the Russian Aerospace Defence Forces entered the battle against terrorism, targets are being picked via a coordination office liaising between the Syrian and Russian air forces, and the targets – which include terrorists’ command centers, combat equipment, military convoy, vehicles, or artillery – are selected with great care and dealt with in a very precise manner.
A third pilot took to the air in his MiG-23 and returned soon after, performing aerial acrobatics and signaled to the journalists from his cockpit, giving them a thumbs up to indicate that his mission was carried out successfully, then signaling “v” for victory. After disembarking from the plane, he informed the correspondent that he targeted and destroyed a command center for terrorists.

The correspondent also met with the technicians and saw a strong sense of team spirit in how they and the pilots interact, and remarked their dedication to maintaining the warplanes in a state of full readiness and get the best performance out of them via regular and constant supervision and inspection.

Russia Delivers Missile Systems to Syria to Avert Stealing of Warplanes

TEHRAN (FNA)- Russia has delivered missile defense systems to Syria in order to prevent the possibility of Russian Air Force aircraft from being stolen, as well as to return fire, Russian Air Force Commander Viktor Bondarev said Thursday.

“We have taken into account all possible threats. We have sent not only fighters, attack aircraft, bombers, and helicopters, but also missile defense systems because any sort of force majeure situation may occur. For example, the stealing of a warplane in a neighboring country with Syria or having to return fire. We need to be prepared for that,” Bondarev told Russia’s Komsomolskaya Pravda daily in an interview, Sputnik reported.

Russia has been conducting precision airstrikes at ISIL positions in Syria at the request of President Bashar al-Assad since September 30.

Since the beginning of the air campaign, Russian Air Force has destroyed over 2,000 terrorist positions. Several hundred militants have been killed, and dozens of command centers and depots have been destroyed in over 1,600 sorties, according to the Russian General Staff.

US-Backed Terrorists Proudly Post Images of Beheaded Syrian Soldiers in Hama

TEHRAN (FNA)- Terrorists funded, armed and trained by the US posted a picture of a recently executed Syrian officer that they claimed was a general inside a Hama province’s city.

The beheaded soldier’s information was not released and his identity is still unknown, regional media reported.

The use of social media, including Twitter and Facebook, to publish such images has exposed the so-called moderate opposition groups’ savagery.

Equally disturbing were Facebook and Twitter posts from the ‘Syrian Opposition’s’ social media activists applauding the execution.

The decapitated soldier’s head was placed inside of a bin and used by the so-called ‘moderates’ to taunt pro-government supporters on both Twitter and Facebook, revealing the level of inhumanity displayed by these US-backed death squads.
