Russian Emergencies Ministry sends jet to Syria to deliver humanitarian aid and evacuate people wanting to leave conflict area

Following the order of the Russian Government, a Russian Emergencies Ministry Il-76 has taken off today for Syria with a cargo of relief goods aboard.

The plane will deliver over 20 tonnes of relief goods to the town of Latakia. There are tinned meat, fish and milk, sugar and essentials including blankets.

On its way back the plane will deliver in Moscow over 80 citizens of Russia, CIS member-states and other countries who want to leave the area of military conflict.
