Russian Aircraft Help Syrian Army Liberate Town in Latakia
According to a Syrian Army official, government forces have retaken the town of Baksa with the aid of Russian air support.
“The Syrian Army faced steep resistance from well-trained and experienced militants, who previously fought in Afghanistan and Iraq,” General Samir Suleiman, political chief of the Syrian Army, told reporters.
“However, fearing Russian airstrikes, they abandoned Baksa.”

Chief of General Staff conducts field visit to advanced military site

Upon directives from Commander in Chief of the Army and Armed Forces President Bashar al-Assad, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces, Gen. Ali Abdullah Ayoub conducted a field visit to one of the advanced military sites.
Field commanders briefed Ayoub on their plan of operations, the nature of the combat activities they are conducting, and the achievements they are making on the ground.
Ayoub, who was accompanied by officers from the General Command, commended the efforts exerted by the officers and the high morale of the soldiers.

Engaged by the Russian aircraft, the militants suffer significant losses and are forced to change their tactics, to disperse their troops, to camouflage themselves thoroughly and to hide in inhabited areas. Under these conditions, we continue regular usage of aviation and build up the intensiveness of strikes for effective engagement.
In the course of the last 24 hours, 67 combat sorties have been performed from the Hmeymim airbase. Su-34, Su-24M, Su-25SM hit 60 objects of terrorists.
Among the targets there are command and communication centres, ammunition and POL depots, as well as training bases of terrorists in the provinces Raqqah, Lattakia, Hamah, Idlib and Aleppo.
The attacks resulted in destruction of the following facilities:
6 command and communication centres;
6 ammunition and POL depots;
17 training camps of terrorists;
3 underground facilities of militants in the Lattakia province;
16 fortified areas and defensive positions with armament and military hardware;
11 concentration areas for reserves of the illegal armed groups;
a plant for repairing of armoured vehicles;
17 automobile and armoured vehicles;
2 MLRS systems.
The air strike in Raqqah, which, as you know, is controlled only by the ISIS. Direct hit of KAB-500S high-precision bombs destroyed the HQ of the Liwa al-Haqq grouping.
Near Aleppo, an air strike was made against a militants’ base and a ammunition depot arranged in the building of a former prison. As a result, ammunition depot was destroyed.
The video data was registered by the weapon-aiming system of the striking aircraft. It confirms the previously declared high technical capabilities of the Russian aviation complexes.

Army operations continued on Friday in the framework of stepped-up crackdown on the terrorist organizations in various areas, particularly in Hama where the army is advancing, inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists there.
Army units establish control over town of al-Bahsa
Around 77 terrorists were killed or injured in the course of the wide military operation which the army launched two days ago to eliminate terrorist organizations in the northern countryside of Hama province.
A military source told SANA on Friday that 5 vehicles, including one equipped with a 23 mm machine gun, were destroyed and 5 terrorists were killed and 12 others were injured during operations in Kafr Zeita town, one of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists’ most important strongholds in the province.
More terrorists were killed and over 30 others were injured in the army’s operations on the outskirts of Kafr Nabbouda. A leader of a terrorist group was identified among the dead.
An army unit also killed 30 terrorists and destroyed 3 vehicles to the north of Tallet al-Sayad.
Later, a military source said that army units established control over town of al-Bahsa in the northwestern countryside of Hama province, eliminating many terrorists in the process.
The source also said that the Syrian Air Force destroyed terrorists’ hideouts and vehicles in Kafr Nabbouda, al-Mansoura, and the surroundings of al-Mighir and Maarkabba in the province’s countryside.
An army unit killed 50 terrorists who attempted to infiltrate towards al-Breij area in the eastern countryside of Aleppo province and destroyed a vehicle equipped with a heavy machine gun used by the terrorists.
Another army unit destroyed three vehicles, one of which equipped with a machine gun, in the vicinity of al-Nairab airport, 10 km east of Aleppo city.
Meanwhile, field sources said the army’s operations in the vicinity of al-Nairab airport resulted in destroying two armored vehicles.
A number of terrorists were also killed in al-Zahraa neighborhood on the western sides of Aleppo city.
The Syrian Army’s air force launched strikes against dens and gatherings of ISIS in Deir Ezzor.
The airstrikes resulted in the destruction of many vehicles, killing many terrorists and injuring many others in al-Jafra and al-Mrei’iyeh in the southeast countryside of Deir Ezzor.
The Army’s airstrikes also targeted ISIS’ dens in al-Mayadeen city, destroying a den with all terrorists and weapons inside it.
Field sources told SANA that army units in Deir Ezzor Military Airport launched strikes against ISIS’ gatherings in the area surrounding the airport, killing or injuring many terrorists.
KSA provides anti-air missiles to terrorists
A car exploded in Heit town in the western countryside of the southern Daraa province after Thursday midnight, resulting in the death of three terrorists, including Ghassan al-Saffouri, Hussien al-Nemri and a terrorist nicknamed “Arour Heit”.
Later on the day, army units targeted terrorists’ gatherings and hideouts in a number of areas in Daraa al-Balad, killing and injuring scores of terrorists and destroying their weapons and ammunition.
The army also killed a number of terrorists in operations in Ataman and Kherbat Ghazala in Daraa countryside.
Meanwhile, multi-sourced information said that Saudi Arabia has sent anti-armor and anti-air missiles through the Jordanian borders to a number of terrorist groups in Daraa.
An army unit killed a number of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in Busra al-Sham in Daraa.
Reconnaissance plane for terrorists shot down
An army unit shot down a reconnaissance drone for terrorists in Beit Hleibiyeh in the northern countryside of Lattakia.
The army’s air force killed a large number of terrorists in strikes on their hideouts and gatherings in Rabiaa area.
The strikes left a number of terrorists dead, including Mohammad Manla, Mohammad Qabaji and Mohammad Jamal Qabji.
An army unit clashed with a terrorist group in al-Mreij district in Salma area, killing all of its members.
An army unit destroyed three pickup trucks equipped with machineguns along with the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists on board in Izz Eddin village on the administrative line between Homs and Hama provinces.
Another army unit killed a number of terrorists and destroyed their arms to the west of al-Msheirfeh village, 18 km north of Homs city.
In Talbiseh area north of Homs city, army units eliminated a number of terrorists and destroyed their weapons and equipment in a series of concentrated operations that targeted their hideouts and hotbeds in the villages of al-Sa’an al-Aswad, al-Sa’an al-Shamali, and al-Za’faraneh.
