Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the gunmen hindered the delivery of the humanitarian aid to the old city of Homs and we demand guaranteeing the delivery of the assistance to other areas besieged by the gunmen, such as Nobbul al-Zahraa in Aleppo countryside.
In a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart, Nabil Fahmi in Moscow on Thursday, Lavrov added that during our discussions, we confirmed a political solution to the crisis in Syria and reiterated counterterrorism.
” We insist on the commitment on all items of Geneva communiqué, and Russia doesn’t accept focusing on one item without the other items,” Lavrov stressed.
For his part, the Egyptian Foreign Minister said: ” We agreed on finding a political climate to solve the crisis in Syria in a way that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people for better future,”
Egypt’s Sisi in Russia to negotiate massive arms deal
Egyptian army chief and likely new president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi meets top Russian officials on Thursday to negotiate a $2-billion arms deal that is meant to replace subsiding assistance from old ally Washington.
Sisi arrived in Moscow on Wednesday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy for so-called “2+2” talks with their Russian counterparts.
