The morning session of Syria’s official delegation to Geneva 2 with the UN envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi started at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.

The morning session is separated and not in the presence of the coalition delegation.

Syria’s Official delegation submitted a draft statement on condemning Ma’an massacre in Hama countryside at the beginning of the morning session.

The delegation said this disgraceful massacre confirms that some countries’ tools are still continued in perpetrating terrorist acts ignoring all political efforts.

SANA delegate added that Syria’s official delegation called on the United States, through its envoy Brahimi, to adopt a crystal clear stance in Geneva meeting towards this massacre and the previous massacres committed by the terrorist groups against the Syrian people.

The delegation called on the UN to oblige the countries supporting terrorism to halt this policy in implementation of the UN Security Council’s resolutions.

SANA delegate added that Syria’s official delegation reiterated that any political speech should be made after creating the appropriate climate through combating terrorism.

Syria demands stern and urgent condemnation of massacre committed by terrorists in Maan
Feb 10, 2014
Damascus, (SANA)

The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry issued two identical letters to the UN Secretary-General and the chairman of the Security Council, in which it said that armed terrorist groups committed a new massacre in the village of Maan in Hama province.

The letters said that the massacre claimed the lives of entire families, including dozens of women, children, elderly and disabled people, and resulted in destroying a number of houses in the villages.

The Foreign Ministry noted that terrorist groups had attacked this village repeatedly in recent times and displaced its people, and that this was done according to regional and foreign agendas targeting the unity of Syria’s people and its social fabric.

The Ministry said that this new massacre is further proof that these terrorists and those who support them insist on shedding Syrian blood and that they totally disregard all efforts to achieve a credible political process capable of ending the methodical destruction carried out at the hands of terrorist groups against Syria’s people, infrastructure and achievements.

The letters said that the supporters of counterterrorism have went too far in ignoring this impending danger to Syria, neighboring countries and the world, preferring to use the situation in Syria to achieve cheap political gains that serve their regional plans of controlling the area and its people and resources.

The Ministry affirmed that the countries which train, arm, fund, harbor and smuggle terrorists into Syria and utilize their media outlets to promote what they call “jihad” are fully responsible for the spread of terrorism and it becoming a direct threat to peace and security in the region and the world.

The letters addressed the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council, demanding a stern and urgent condemnation of the massacre committed in Maan, of the terrorists who committed them, and of the sides supporting them, stressing that the time has come for implementing Security Council resolutions on counterterrorism.

The letters concluded by saying that the murders which armed terrorist groups keep committing in Syria prove once again that the main task of the UN and specifically the Security Council must be halting violence and combating terrorism wherever it is.

Information_Minister: Coalition delegation should have condemned Maan massacre
Feb 10, 2014
Geneva, ( SANA delegate)

Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said that the coalition delegation should have condemned the massacre in Maan, which claimed the life of Syrian citizens, out of patriotic and moral duty.

In statements to journalists in Geneva, #al_Zoubi pointed out that every incident or massacre that took place in Syria since the events began are documented, and that the coalition delegation knows full well who committed them.

“Information Minister: It’s shameful and disgraceful that the coalition delegation would come to Geneva while remaining captive of terms and positions characterized by political immaturity,” he said.

The Minister asserted that the UN has audiovisual recordings of armed groups within Homs old city in which they declare that will not allow anyone to enter the city.

Mikdad: Main goal of #Geneva2 is stemming bloodshed in Syria
Feb 10, 2014
Geneva, ( SANA delegate)

Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. #Fayssal_Mikdad said that everyone should know that the main goal of the Geneva 2 conference is stemming bloodshed in Syria, and that there can be no talk of a true political process without stopping violence, terrorism and foreign interference.

In statements to journalists in Geneva, Mikdad stressed that it’s time to stop terrorist acts and reach accord among Syrians to end bloodshed, asserting that this is a priority.

He affirmed that if terrorism in #Syria isn’t stopped, it will spread to other countries in the region and the rest of the world.

Mikdad said that the first Geneva communiqué must be discussed one item at a time to resolve the crisis in Syria, and that the official Syrian delegation will not hesitate to discuss the “transitional government” when this topic is reached in its logical order.

He said that the law issued by Saudi Arabia is a “step backwards” as it motivates terrorists to not return to Saudi Arabia, and that these terrorists would rather kill themselves in Syria rather than return.

Mikdad asserted that neither French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius nor the French government has any right to talk about humane principles because they are far removed from it, saying that France is a state that supports terrorism and that Chapter Seven should be used against it and against the US and Britain because they support terrorism.
