Letter From President al-Assad to Nicaraguan President, Conveyed by al-Mikdad

MANAGUA, (SANA)- President Bashar al-Assad sent a letter to Nicaraguan President, José Daniel Ortega, conveyed by Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad.

Miguel d’Escoto, the Advisor of Nicaragua’s President for International Political Affairs received the letter on Saturday.

D’Escoto expressed, on behalf of the Nicaraguan Government, condemnation of all attempts to interfere in Syria’s affairs and sympathy with the Syrian leadership, government and people in confronting the attempts of some countries to undermine Syria’s sovereignty and independence.

He stressed his country’s optimism over the inevitability of Syria’s victory, voicing his country’s readiness to offer all possible assistance to help Syria confront the current campaign.

For his part, Mikdad expressed gratitude for Nicaragua over its support to Syria in the international circles and defending the world’s just issues.

Mikdad spoke about the attack on Syria and provocations by Turkey and some of the Gulf countries represented by arming, harboring and financing armed terrorist groups to destabilize Syria and undermine its principled positions in the face of Western greed in the Arab region.

Nicaragua Stresses Solidarity with Syria, Keenness on Defending It in the UN and International Forums

MANAGUA, (SANA) – Nicaragua’s Foreign Minister Samuel Santos Lopez reiterated his country’s solidarity with Syria and its support to the Syrian people’s right to live in peace away from all forms of foreign interference.

Santos Lopez’s remarks came during a meeting on Thursday evening with the Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad who is visiting Nicaragua.

The Nicaraguan Foreign Minister expressed his country’s concerns over the attack launched against Syria, stressing Nicaragua’s keenness to defend Syria in the United Nations and all regional and international forums.

In turn, Mikdad said that Syria is facing a conspiracy hatched by western and some Gulf countries which fund, arm and harbor the terrorists and support their crimes in Syria.

He pointed out to Turkey’s sabotage acts in Syria which threaten the security and peace in the region and its flagrant intervention in Syria through supporting al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups.

Mikdad expressed gratitude to Nicaragua’s support for Syria in international forums, reiterating Syria’s solidarity with Nicaragua to restore its sovereignty over its territorial waters in regard to the International Justice Court resolutions.

The two sides agreed on enhancing political and diplomatic coordination between the two countries to face the challenges.

Later on, Mikdad met senior officials at the Nicaraguan Foreign Ministry and briefed them on the conspiracy against Syria and the Syrian leadership’s determination to defend its independence and sovereignty and to confront this conspiracy which aims at undermining Syria’s stances against the US, Israel and the Western countries’ plots to liquidate the Arab issues.

Mikdad Discusses with Nicaraguan Officials Bilateral Relations, Nicaragua Affirms Support for Syria

MANAGUA, (SANA) – Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad discussed on Friday with Speaker of the National Assembly of Nicaragua, Rene Nunzez, the strong relations between the two countries’ leaderships, peoples and parliamentary establishments.

During the meeting, Nunez voiced respect for Syria’s history and condemned the aggression against it by terrorist groups and those who support them, affirming that his country supports Syria in its battle against terrorists.

For his part, Mikdad, who is on a visit to Nicaragua, outlined the goals of the attack against Syria which is employing armed groups supported by some western and regional countries, expressing high appreciation of Nicaragua’s solidarity with the Syrian people.

Similarly, Mikdad met with International Relations Secretary at the Sandinista National Liberation Front, Jacinto Suarez, who said that they are watching developments in Syria with great interest and are relieved over Syria’s steadfastness in the face of the conspiracy against it.

Suarez said that the main reason for the attack against Syria is its stance towards the Palestinian cause and its constant support of the Palestinians, reiterating the strong relations between the National Assembly of Nicaragua and the People’s Assembly in Syria.

In turn, Midkad explained the details of the conspiracy against Syria, particularly the responsibility of the Turkish government in supporting terrorism, holding this government responsible for the death of thousands of innocent Syrians at the hands of armed groups.

He also affirmed the inevitability of Syria’s victory in this battle, stressing the importance of the support provided by friendly countries to achieve this victory.
